Pals Paper Arts #101 – Summertime Blues

Hey Everyone

The challenge at Pals Paper Arts this week is a Celebrity Colour Challenge – Summertime Blues.  Here in Australia I think I’ve got the Wintertime Blues – it’s been cold and wet and all I want to do is catch up on sleep!  I decided to sneak away from my kids who are on school holidays and enter this colour challenge.

This is what I came up using the colours above:

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge #77

Hey Everyone

This week at Inkspirations we used the following sketch as inspiration to make our cards.

This is what I came up with:

This is a close up of the flower. For the leaves I’ve cut Basic Black cardstock into a leaf shape (yes black, I think I’ve created a new species of leaf but that was the colour that went the best!), crimped it and ran my bone folder down the middle to give it a crease.

Thanks for taking a look.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Very Vintage Roller, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Other Products: Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch

Inkspirations Sketch Challenge 69

Hi Everyone

At Inkspirations this week we use the following sketch to create our cards.

I decided to give myself the challenge of using scraps and leftover pieces of card.  More often than not, I tend to pull out a new piece cardstock and then have lots of leftover card that I promise myself I’ll use eventually.  I’ve used Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Crumb Cake.  As I’m addicted to the daubers at the moment, I sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake and roughed them up by distressing them.  I pulled out my Very Vintage jumbo wheel and managed to get the butterfly stamped in the right spot (doesn’t happen very often).  I then stamped the flourishes and flowers from Vintage Vogue (love this stamp set!) and then sat for ages trying to work out what to put in the middle of the flourishes.  In the end I went with the Eiffel Tower from Artistic Etchings.  I almost forgot, I used a Crumb Cake piece of scrap from a Fancy Favour Box for an edge instead of using a punch – I knew someday I would eventually use it!

Thanks for taking a look.
