Just Add Ink #515

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week our challenge for you is to:

I had to google mixed media…. I may’ve created mixed media cards in the past and didn’t even know it!  To create this card I took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and gave it a watercoloured background with Night Of Navy Ink.  Once I dried this off with my Heat Gun, I stamped the script stamp from Very Versailles Stamp Set in Night Of Navy Ink. I then took my Embossing Paste and Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and added some texture.

I cut some leafy dies with my Forever Flourishing Dies out of Smoky Slate and Night Of Navy Cardstocks. I layered these with some Braided Linen Thread under the sentiment and a strip of Purple Posy Cardstock that I had laying on my desk.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created wonderful projects with this challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.  We would love it if you could play along!

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #249

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge at the Global Design Project.  This combination of colours is super pretty and I couldn’t resist playing along.

I started off with choosing a stamp set – Forever Fern Stamp Set was my set of choice.  I wanted to see if the images from this set worked with the challenge colours and I think they do!

The designer series paper I’ve used in the background is from the Peony Garden DSP pack.  I’ve roughed the edges of this piece, giving it a bit of a tear here and there.  I then took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and daubed the background with Pool Party Ink. The script stamp I’ve added to this piece of cardstock is from the Very Versailles Stamp Set and is stamped in Petal Pink Ink.  I’ve really torn and roughed up the edges on this piece.

I cracked open my Tasteful Labels Dies and die cut two stitched dies in Misty Moonlight and Petal Pink Cardstock. The sentiment I’ve used is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set. I’ve stamped this with Misty Moonlight Ink and it has also been die cut with one of the dies.

A strip of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was added as well as a bow for that vintage-y feel. Elegant Faceted Gems finished off my card – as always three were added.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #513

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you to play along with at Just Add Ink. Our challenge for you is to:

For this challenge I’ve chosen Trees and Texture.  The trees I’ve added to my card are tree branches from the Very Versailles Stamp Set.  I used the marker direct to stamp technique.  I applied a combination of Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz Markers to my image, huffed on it and stamped it directly to the cardstock. I repeated this process and fussy cut both branches out.

I then took my Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and embossed the cardstock. I then took my Soft Suede Marker and tapped it on my Bone Folder to create the splatters you can see on the embossed cardstock.  Just for a bit of something extra, I took a dauber and Pool Party Ink and daubed the background you can see under the branches.

I then stamped the frame image in Soft Suede Ink and fussy cut it out.  I pierced the centre of the frame and fussy cut the centre of it out so that you can see the sentiment (also from the Very Versailles Stamp Set) is raised in the centre. I tied a Linen Thread Bow and was going to attach it, but as it was a similar colour to the branches, it got lost on my card.  So I took my Old Olive Blend and coloured the Linen Thread. Three Metallic Pearls to finish off my card after I layered my embossed Whisper White Cardstock on some Soft Suede Cardstock at an angle.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using the elements from the challenge. Pop over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Just Add Ink #509

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge at Just Add Ink and this weeks it’s a colour challenge.  Take a look at the pretty colour combo we have for you.

I thought this colour combo would work really well with the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set.  I coloured the iris images from this stamp set with Highland Heather and So Saffron Blends.  I then took my Aqua Painter and lightly coloured the stems of the flowers with Pool Party Ink.  I fussy cut the images and layered them around the sentiment.  I had the Pool Party stem die cut from Sunflower Dies sitting on my desk, so I added that to the images.

Because I needed to add Crumb Cake Ink to the card, I took the background script stamp from the Very Versailles Stamp Set and stamped it on the background Whisper White Cardstock.  The sentiment I’ve added to my card is also from the Inspiring Iris Stamp Set.  Three Metallic Pearls finished off my card.

The team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards with this weeks colour challenge. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #413

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for you to play along with.  This week our sketch designer is the fabulously talented Cecile Ribon. Cecile creates gorgeous cards and amazingly cool sketches!

One of the perks of attending the Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event is that I got my hands on some of the products from the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue.  I think the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set is my favourite from the catalogue, but I’m easily swayed when there’s a stamp set with a flower in it…..

I stamped the individual blossoms from this set and coloured them with my Daffodil Delight Blends.  I gave them a really quick colour and left the middle of the flowers without colour to make them stand out.  To mimic the sketch, I added the fussy cut leaf from Very Versailles.  This leaf has been stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink and the sentiment (also from Very Versailles) has been stamped in Black Memento Ink.  For the background I daubed So Saffron Ink to soften the background and cradle the leaves.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using Cecile’s sketch. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Forever Blossoms

Hey Everyone

I got home from work today and had the smallest time slot ever to have a play with one of my new stamp sets – Forever Blossoms!  This stamp set will be available for demonstrators to preorder from 3rd December.  Customers will be able to get their hands on this set and all of the other gorgeous products from the Stampin’ Up! January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue from 3rd January.

To create my card, I stamped my image in Black Memento Ink and used my Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate Blends to colour the blossoms.  The leaves have been given colour with my Mint Macaron Blends.   The sentiment that I have used on my card is also from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set.

I added a bit of background stamping with the script stamp from Very Versailles in Crumb Cake Ink. I then added a Pool Party Carstock circle and a strip of Petal Pink Cardstock to tie all the colours together. As I always seem to do, I finished off my card with a trio of Noble Peacock Rhinestones. If I had more time, I would have tizzy’d this card more, but I think it’s ok for a rushed card.

Just Add Ink #474

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week our challenge is a colour challenge. Take a look at the pretty colours we have for you to play along with:

Blackberry Bliss is a colour I haven’t used in ages! This is why I love colour challenges, they make me try different combinations that I wouldn’t normally put together.

I also tried my hand with one of my Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and some Shimmery White Embossing Paste.  I created the background of my card using these products.  Once I set it with my Heat Tool, I added my layers of:

  • Blackberry Bliss stamped frame from Very Versailles
  • Fussy cut Mossy Meadow leaves from Very Versailles
  • Fussy cut Blackberry Bliss and Rococo Rose flowers from First Frost
  • Black Memento sentiment from Very Versailles

And my card was done!

I am loving every one of the cards the design team at Just Add Ink have created.  Pop over to the challenge and check them out.  We’d love it if you could play along with us

Thanks for stopping by.

Magnolia Sympathy Card

Hey Everyone

I’ve been away for the weekend but managed to unpack quickly, pretend to clean and get into my craft room.  The card I’ve made is for a friend who has recently lost someone dear to them.

This is my first time inking up Good Morning Magnolia Cling Stamp Set. This stamp set can be purchased in a bundle with the matching Magnolia Memory Dies.  I’ve chosen the magnolia buds stamp from this set and the little leaves as well.  The buds have been given a watercolour with So Saffron and Sahara Sands Inks.  The leaves have been given colour with Old Olive Ink.

The pretty DSP I’ve used on the card base is from the matching Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper.  I then stamped the Whisper White Cardstock background with the script stamp from Very Versailles Stamp Set in Sahara Sand Ink.  I created a Whisper White frame with my Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies. To make this frame into more of a rectangle, I cut through the middle of it and covered up the joins.  I’ve angled this frame and layered my sentiment, flowers and leaves around it.

Under my sentiment (also from Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set) I’ve added an Olive Olive edgelit cut with a die from Morning Magnolia Dies.  On top of this edgelit, I’ve added a strip of Very Vanilla 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim as it was too pretty not to use on my card.

Thanks for stopping by.
