Just Add Ink #201

Hey Everyone

We celebrated our 200th challenge at Just Add Ink last week.  Thanks to everyone who played along with us – your projects were lovely!  This week we have a new colour challenge for you to try.

JAI201pic

I always seem to struggle with colour challenges and my stress was made even worse when the only Island Indigo cardstock I had left was about 10cm x 7cm!  After much searching I found this scrap of designer series paper from a retired pack called Twitterpated.  I decided to keep lots of white space on my card as it made it easier to combine the colours. In the end I realised I had missed putting Pool Party on my card so I tied a Pool Party Seam Binding bow and added it to my card.  The tulips from Stampin’ Up!s Blessed Easter are coloured with a blender pen and Real Red ink and I’ve lightly stamped Dictionary in the background.

We would love for you to join us this week at Just Add Ink so head over to the challenge and link up a card.  While you’re there, why don’t you check out the pretty cards from the Design Team?

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #80

Hey Everyone

Linda Callahan is the creator of this weeks fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

FMS80sketchLindaC

Truthfully, I’m not completely loving my card.  I’m on a holiday and even though I squeezed in about a third of my craft room, I still couldn’t find anything to work in the two hours I gave myself to make it (I think I may have been chatting too much to my mum while I was putting it together! lol).  I then ran out of time to change it, as it had to be loaded to the challenge.  I’ll be more organised for next weeks challenge now that I’m settled into our accommodation.  Here’s what I came up with:

Sorry about the photo quality – I’m really missing my light tent.  I was literally on the floor of my balcony trying to get good light to take it!

Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and check out the gorgeous inspiration the Design Team have provided to inspire you. Thanks for stopping by.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #238

Hey Everyone

These weeks are really starting to roll on by, aren’t they? We have a colour challenge for you over at Create with Connie & Mary this week:

CCMC238pic

When you’re on a design team you get your challenges given to you in advance.  So I’ve had this colour combo on my mind since Christmas. In my 4 weeks of Christmas holidays do you think I looked once in my cupboard to see if I had any Island Indigo cardstock? The answer to that is “no”.  I had put off making a card for this challenge until last weekend because I was unsure of how I was going to combine the colours (they were a bit tricky for me!).  Of course this was too late to put in an order when I saw I had only one strip of Island Indigo.  So I’ve made do with what I had in the cupboard and here’s what I came up with:

We’d love for you to join us in this weeks colour challenge – head over to Create with Connie & Mary and check out the gorgeous samples the Design Team have created.  While you’re there check out the Spring Edition 2013 of Create with Connie and Mary!  All the details can be found by clicking here. It’s not too late to join.  This week they are featuring products from the Spring and Sale-A-Bration  Catalogues.

Thanks for taking a look!

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #234

Hey Everyone

We have a pretty colour combination for you over at Create with Connie & Mary this week – Midnight Muse (my favourite blue at the moment), Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.

CCMC234pic

I gone with blue poppies again (even though I don’t think there’s such a species of flower) and dancing butterflies.  I’ve stamped the frame from Papaya Collage and tied a triple bow (not sure how that happened – is it too much?) although I probably meant to tie a double bow. I then added two butterflies from Kindness Matters that I coloured with my blender pen. My sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.

We’d love to see what you create with these colours – head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous inspiration the Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Paper Players #127 & Mojo Monday #275

Hey Everyone

Love is in the Air over at The Paper Players where romance and Valentine’s Day are the theme for this weeks challenge.  I’ve gone with a vintagey card that I thought could be used as a Valentine’s Day card or an Anniversary card.  I’ve used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch (gee I love this one Julee!) for the layout of my card.

Mojo275Sketch

Affection Collection is a stamp set that is always sitting on my desk lately so I’ve used the sentiment and flashy background stamp (don’t even know what you would call this stamp).  To match the Pink Pirouette in my designer series papers, I dyed some Very Vanilla Seam Binding with Pink Pirouette ink and scrunched it up to get the ruffled effect. I then added some punched hearts, scrunched up the corner of my card to reveal some retired Newsprint DSP and my card was done. Here’s what I came up with:

Just Add Ink #118

Hey Everyone

It’s Just Add Ink Challenge time again.  This week our challenge is to Just Add…..Mae.  We get to check out my fellow design team member Mae’s blog and choose a card we would like to CASE.  After narrowing it down from the many I could’ve chosen, I decided to CASE this gorgeous card (click here to take you to Mae’s original post).

I love the colours she’s used so I’ve kept my colour scheme similar.  I really love Basic Gray, but don’t use it as often as I would like.  I added Cherry Cobbler to the Basic Gray and teamed it with my new fave DSP – Twitterpated.  Here’s what I came up with:

Thanks for taking a look.
