The Deconstructed Sketch #155

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second card today – click here to see my earlier card.  I find by the end of a day crafting, my last card is always a bit of a struggle.  My drained brain just doesn’t work as well by the time I get to my fourth card.  The challenge I’m entering my card into is the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.

DS155sketch

Jen’s sketch is fabulous and it’s one I know I’ll be using it again.  I reached for some 2014 Stampin’ Up! SAB DSP called Sweet Sorbet and the flower is from Everything Eleanor. The background stamping I added is from Gorgeous Grunge and I also inked up my Hexagon Embossing folder and pressed it directly onto Whisper White cardstock. I then added the little butterfly from Kindness Matters.

The Card Concept #10

Hey Everyone

Do we have a great challenge for you at The Card Concept this fortnight?  I’ll answer for you – yes!  The challenge we have for you is to create a project with a coffee theme. I can’t wait to see how you interpret it.

CC10pic

Lucky for me a I had a couple of weeks to think about this challenge as it had me stumped for a little while.  I have nothing in my stamping collection that says coffee at all!  Then I remembered MDS.  I’d totally forgotten how to use it and then because I got a new laptop I had to go through the whole rigmarole of getting it loaded again.  Then when it came to printing ,I’d ran out of ink.  $127 to buy new cartridges and I was ready to go. (It was probably cheaper to buy a new printer!).  Here’s what I came up with:

Freshly Made Sketches #131

Hey Everyone

This weeks Freshly Made Sketches sketch is brought to us by the amazing talented Cindy Hall.  You’re going to want to head over to Cindy’s blog and check out her lovely cards.

FMS131sketch

I’m currently on a holiday with my mum and we’re creating every 2nd day or so – can’t do it every day as then everyone would be saying “is that all you’re going to do all holiday?” (and probably yes, that’s what we would do everyday if we could!) It’s very hard to create on holidays when you’ve only got a third of your craft room with you and to make things worse I only gave myself one hour to pack my SU stuff the night before we left.  I feel like I’ve got no matching papers and inks, so my cards are taking forever!  My mum was asking for a bit of watercolouring advice so I pulled out Stampin’ Up!s Pleasant Poppies for her to start her watercolouring.  Here’s what we made:

Seize The Birthday – Buttons & Rhinestones

Hey Everyone

We’re holidaying with my 9 year old niece who loves to craft so to repay her for making me a loomies bracelet, I sat down with her to make a card.  On-the-spot-young-girl cards are a bit challenging for me, but I had a ton of fun because I had someone interested in what I was doing for once – not like my 17yo and 14yo boys.  Seize the Birthday has a Buttons and Rhinestones challenge this week so I set about making a card for this challenge.  I’ve used some Stampin’ Up! Sweet Sorbet DSP, stars and bling and I think she really liked it. The stars are from Stampin’ Up!s Simply Stars and the sentiment is from Morning Meadow.  For a bit of extra interest in the background I stamped Off The Grid and Gorgeous Grunge.

Here’s my card:

The Card Concept #7, The Deconstructed Sketch #144 & IBSIC #80

Hey Again Everyone

I’m back with my second post tonight and this time it’s for The Card Concept.  Our challenge for you is to create a card with a butterfly theme – easy peasy right?

CC7pic

I found a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Nature Walk that had a butterfly in it that reminded me of the butterfly in the inspiration pic.  The layout for my card is from this weeks Deconstructed Sketch and the colours I’ve used are from the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping.

Freshly Made Sketches #129

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  The amazingly talented Jen Mitchell is our sketch hostess this week and she’s given us this fabulous sketch – I can’t wait to see how you interpret it!

FMS129sketch

I’ve been playing around Stampin’ Up!s Sweet Sorbet DSP lately and found I love the colour combo of Pool Party and Sahara Sand.  The flowers I’ve used are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Everything Eleanor and I teamed them with some leaves from my Little Leaves Die.  I struggled to combine a third DSP to go across the card, so in the end I used my Woodgrain stamp inked with Sahara Sand to finish it off.

Just Add Ink #206

Hey Everyone

This week at Just Add Ink the very talented Paula has given us the challenge to

Just Add Sale-A-Bration.

For those who don’t know what Sale-A-Bration (SAB) is, for every $90 you spend on Stampin’ Up! products in Australia you get one item from the SAB Catalogue free – gotta love free stuff!  Click here to view the Australian SAB Catalogue on line.

The SAB products I’ve used on card are Sweet Sorbet DSP and the tiny star and heart are from Banner Blast.  The butterfly I’ve used isn’t from the SAB Catalogue – it’s from the Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue called Papillion Potpourri.  The butterfly was laying around on my desk discarded from another project so instead of ruining it or accidentally throwing it away, I put it to good use on my card.  I also added a strip of washi tape that I stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe from my set called Tape It (also from the Annual Catalogue).  I added 3 bits of bling as I’m going to give this card to my niece for her birthday and every little girl loves bling!

Here’s what I created:

Mojo Monday #335 & Dynamic Duos #93

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second card today.  This time I’ve combined my card for Mojo Monday’s sketch challenge and Dynamic Duos colour challenge.

Mojo335sketch

DD93pic

Blushing Bride would have to be my most favourite Stampin’ Up! pinks ever, and when combined with Sahara Sand, it would have to be one of my favourite & prettiest colour combos.  I’m almost at the end of any Blushing Bride DSP in my stash.  I wish we could order single packs of DSP like we used to – Blushing Bride would have to be at the top of my wish list.

Mojo335 & DD93

We have a holiday tomorrow (gotta love a long weekend), so I’m hoping to be back with some more cards.  Fingers crossed…..

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #126 & SUO #91

Hey Everyone

I had a ball looking the 147 gorgeous entries that played along with my sketch at Freshly Made Sketches last week!  This week the fabulously talent Amy O’Neill is our hostess and she has created this totally cool sketch:

FMS126sketch

I’m loving the colour combination Sahara Sand and Crisp Cantaloupe- it’s a really soft and pretty combination.  Amy’s sketch gave me the opportunity to break open my new Sale-A-Bration banner stamp set called Banner Blast (I’m possibly the last Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Melbourne to ink it up for the first time).  As I’m using banners I’m also entering my card into SUO’s Banner Fun Challenge.
