Just Add Ink #486

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week is inspiration picture week and it’s a fabulous festive themed pic.

For the card I’ve created, I tried to emulate as many elements from the inspiration picture as much as possible.  The berry image I’ve used on my card is from the Frosted Foliage Stamp Set.  I’ve fussy cut two of these stems and coloured them with my Cherry Cobbler Blends.  For the striped table runner, I added some Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Diagonal Strip Ribbon to my card as well as some Braided Linen Trim. For the gold element, I’ve added some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using the inspiration pic. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #415

Hey Everyone

Sketches are my favourite way to start creating a card.  Sketch challenges were the first challenges I entered after I started my blog.  Freshly Made Sketches always has awesome sketches if you need ideas on a layout for your projects.  This weeks awesome sketch was designed by me!  Actually, I may’ve thrown this sketch together at the last minute, so not sure if it’s all that awesome…..

The card I’ve created uses a new-to-me stamp set called Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.  I coloured my hibiscus flower with a combination of Real Red and Mango Melody Blends.  I then added some shadows with my Smoky Slate Blends.  The leaves and palm trees have been stamped with Pretty Peacock Ink and fussy cut out.  As the palm tree image is actually shorter than what I wanted for my card, I trimmed of the lower stems and lengthened the look of the trees by hiding the gap under the flower.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set.  To give my background a beach-y theme, I daubed Balmy Blue Ink from top to bottom of my card.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have made my sketch look GOOD! Pop over to the challenge and see how creative they are!

Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Design Team – Sale-a-Bration 2020 Sneak Peak Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

We have a special hop for you today!  The 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team have created projects using various stamp sets from the 2020 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

Sale-A-Bration pre-earn is finally here from 3 December 2019 to 2 January 2020! This means that demonstrators can earn items in the Sale-A-Bration Shop offering early. For every $90 AUD/$110 NZD or $180 AUD/$220 NZD you spend, you choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure that matches the level you spent. Demonstrators can even use the pre-order of the January–June mini catalogue and purchase items from that catalogue or any other current catalogue, and earn free Sale-A-Bration products! If you aren’t a demonstrator yet, this is a great sneak peek to see what is in store for Sale-A-Bration beginning 3 January 2020!

The card I created is made with the Lovely Lily Pad Stamp Set. Before designing my card, I googled waterlilies to get some ideas on colours and how I would use this stamp set.  My initial thought was to use the waterlily stamp and create a flowery/leafy creation, but instead I went with a realistic waterlily pond card.

I started with some Balmy Blue Ink and a dauber.  I daubed until I had a background that I was happy with and that would give my waterlilies and lily pads a watery base.  On my google search, I found that waterlilies can be many colours, so I went with a deep red.  I stamped the outline of the waterlily with Black Memento Ink and coloured the petals with Cherry Cobbler Blends.  To give depth and definition to the flower, I added shadows to the centre of the waterlilies with my Smoky Slate Blends. The leaves have been coloured lightly with Mint Macaron Blends.

One of the best things about this stamp set is that it has reversible stamps! You might be wondering what that is, so I will explain how I used them on this card.  Once you’ve stamped your outline of your image and clean it off, you can turn the stamp over on your block and it will stamp the solid image.  Each of the stamp set images have the reversible solid stamp, so if you’re not a colourer like me, then you can let the stamp do all the work!  I think this card is suited more for the avid crafter with all the colouring, daubing and fussy cutting.  But you can simplify this card using the reversible stamp to colour the image and the matching dies that are also available during the Sale-A-Bration period.
I used the reversible stamp on each of my lily pads to give them Mossy Meadow centres.  Because I wanted a deeper colour for them, I inked up the image and stamped it three times. It then gave me a variance in the ink and a shadowy look on the pads.
I then added a sentiment from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set as I felt it matched my card and a single rhinestone from Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
Don’t forget that Sale-A-Bration pre-order for demonstrators starts today (3rd December).  This is an exclusive benefit for demonstrators to get your hands on these amazing products early.  For your customers and friends, they will be able to order from 3rd January.

The next project featuring SAB products for you to see if my friend, Rochelle Blok.  I know she has created the most gorgeous card for you to see.  Click here or on the badge below to take you to her blog.

Just Add Ink #484

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday, so that means a new sketch at Just Add Ink. This week is a colour challenge.  Here’s the colours that we’ve all used to create our cards:

I realised I haven’t made many cards lately with the Free As A Bird Stamp Set.  So I decided I would use it for this weeks challenge.  The image I’ve used has been stamped with Black Memento Ink and I’ve used a combination of Blushing Bride/Smoky Slate and Highland Heather/Smoky Slate Blends on my birds.  I then took Balmy Blue and sponged the background behind the bird and branch image.  The leaves have been given a light colour with Smoky Slate Ink. I then added a strip of Highland Heather Cardstock under the sentiment to bring all the colours together.  I embossed the background with my Scripty 3D Embossing Folder to add some texture to my card.  I then finished off my card with three Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

The team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards to inspire you. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve designed.  We would love it if you could play along with the challenge.

Freshly Made Sketches #413

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for you to play along with.  This week our sketch designer is the fabulously talented Cecile Ribon. Cecile creates gorgeous cards and amazingly cool sketches!

One of the perks of attending the Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event is that I got my hands on some of the products from the January – June 2020 Mini Catalogue.  I think the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set is my favourite from the catalogue, but I’m easily swayed when there’s a stamp set with a flower in it…..

I stamped the individual blossoms from this set and coloured them with my Daffodil Delight Blends.  I gave them a really quick colour and left the middle of the flowers without colour to make them stand out.  To mimic the sketch, I added the fussy cut leaf from Very Versailles.  This leaf has been stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink and the sentiment (also from Very Versailles) has been stamped in Black Memento Ink.  For the background I daubed So Saffron Ink to soften the background and cradle the leaves.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using Cecile’s sketch. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Forever Blossoms

Hey Everyone

I got home from work today and had the smallest time slot ever to have a play with one of my new stamp sets – Forever Blossoms!  This stamp set will be available for demonstrators to preorder from 3rd December.  Customers will be able to get their hands on this set and all of the other gorgeous products from the Stampin’ Up! January-June 2020 Mini Catalogue from 3rd January.

To create my card, I stamped my image in Black Memento Ink and used my Flirty Flamingo and Smoky Slate Blends to colour the blossoms.  The leaves have been given colour with my Mint Macaron Blends.   The sentiment that I have used on my card is also from the Forever Blossoms Stamp Set.

I added a bit of background stamping with the script stamp from Very Versailles in Crumb Cake Ink. I then added a Pool Party Carstock circle and a strip of Petal Pink Cardstock to tie all the colours together. As I always seem to do, I finished off my card with a trio of Noble Peacock Rhinestones. If I had more time, I would have tizzy’d this card more, but I think it’s ok for a rushed card.

Sydney Onstage Live Event 2019 & My Exciting News

Hey Everyone

I’ve been spending the last few days in Sydney to attend the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live Event with fabulous friends (and as you can see in this photo of the Opera House, about 3000 tourists…….) These events not only give me the chance to see and touch all the new products available soon in the 2020 Mini & Sale-A-Bration Catalogues, I also use this time to laugh, eat loads and maybe even have a gossip or two with my roomies.

You will probably all know that I was lucky enough to be chosen to be part of an amazing design team for this year.  I’ve been a member of the 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team creating alongside 15 other incredible crafters from around the world.  It was a dream of mine to be on the team and I’ve had THE best time!

I can now let you in on my news.  I was chosen for the 2020 Stampin’ Up Artisan Design Team! When the call came, I was almost a little teary and I can’t remember most of the conversation. This has been a sad year for me after losing my dad 5 months ago, so the call from Stampin’ Up! to let me know I was staying on the team for one more year, completely made my day.

Here’s a list of names of the talented Stampin’ Up! Artisans I will be creating with – I’m so looking forward to getting to know all of this team!

Some more good news is that I get to create alongside my Melbourne girl Rochelle Blok.  Rochelle and I have been on the current design team together and I’m super excited that we will be continuing on the team next year.  If only she learnt how to scooch for a photo ……. Massive congrats to you Rochelle!

Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Design Team – Toile Tidings Suite

Hey Everyone

Welcome to my blog and the latest Stampin’ Up! 2019 Artisan Design Team Blog Hop.

The projects I’ve created feature cards and gift boxes using the Tidings All Around Bundle. I’ve designed matching cards and gift boxes to give to loved ones who I know will cherish them and all the details I’ve added to them.

I’ve used the pretty Real Red striped paper from Toile Tiding Designer Series Paper on this card and box.  The wreath on the card is has been cut with my All-Around Wreath Dies.  Initially I was going to go with a stamped wreath for the card, but I liked how the solid Mossy Meadow Cardstock stood out more.  I stamped the little flowers in Elegant Eggplant Ink and fussy cut them out. I then added some foliage cut with my All-Around Wreath Dies. I trimmed some Real Red 1″ Ruched Ribbon and bunched it together with Linen Thread and tied one of these cute Jingle Bells to it.

The gift box I’ve created starts with a Gold Mini Pizza Box.  After adding some Toile Tiding Designer Series Paper, I adhered my wreath from the Tidings All Around Stamp Set.  I may’ve then gone a little crazy with my ribbons….. I went for a looped double bowed Burlap Ribbon effect. Because you can’t have too much ribbon, I then added some Real Red Ruched Ribbon to the mix. If the recipient of this gift box, doesn’t intend to keep it, I think I’ll ask for the ribbon back…

Red or green for Christmas?  I can’t decide. I like both.

The next hop along the way is my friend Rochelle who has created gorgeous projects that I know will WOW you! Click here or on the badge below to take you to her blog.

Just Add Ink #482

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  Our challenge for this week is a sketch challenge. Take a look at this fabulous sketch!

Sketch challenges are the perfect way to start off a card.  They’re my go-to when I’m struggling with a layout. Once I’ve chosen a stamp stamp, I then sit down and work out a colour combination.  For this card I’ve gone with a more traditional festive colour scheme – Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron.

The card I’ve created showcases the Santa from the Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp Set.  I love him and had fun giving him some colour with my blends.  The sentiment on my card is also from this stamp set.  Even though this designer series paper isn’t a traditional Christmas pack, I think this piece from Garden Lane DSP works really well.  The ribbon I’ve added to my tags is so pretty and I find I want to use it on every card at the moment.  This Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Diagonal Stripe Ribbon is from the Holiday Catalogue.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome cards using this sketch.  Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Freshly Made Sketches #410

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch for you to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Linda Callahan.

Here’s her great sketch:

I’ve been creating Christmas cards so much lately that I decided to mix it up and create a man card.  I’ve chosen the Sailing Home Stamp Set for my card.  The lighthouse from this set has been coloured with my Smoky Slate Blends.  I added a square of DSP from the Come Sail Away Memories and More Card Pack and an embossed square of Whisper White Cardstock. This cardstock has been embossed with my Scripty 3D Embossing Folder. I added some Braided Linen Trim and looped it around until I had the shape I wanted.  I also added some rope die cuts in Soft Suede and Crumb Cake Cardstock that have been created with my Smooth Sailing Dies.  The sentiment I’ve used on my card is from the Perennial Birthday Stamp Set.

The Clean Team have created gorgeous cards that will no doubt inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.
