Freshly Made Sketches #316

Hey Everyone

Time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  This weeks sketch has been designed by the uber talented Jennifer Timko. She creates fabulous sketches and uh-mazing cards.  Head over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful creations.  Here’s this weeks sketch:

One of great things about attending a Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event is seeing and receiving products from the upcoming Occasions Catalogue.  The stamp set I received for attending Onstage is called Picture Perfect Birthday.  This set is all about birthdays and I’ve chosen the candles, bow, confetti background stamp and sentiment from this set.  The candles are a two step stamping image.  The first one is stamped in Blushing Bride and Berry Burst and the second one, as well as the bow, is stamped in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay.  The confetti in the background is stamped in Blushing Bride.  I then added a strip of Vintage Crochet Trim across my card.  The “cue the confetti” sentiment is embossed on Basic Black cardstock and the sentiment on my circle is stamped with Basic Black Archival Ink.

Here’s my take on Jennifer’s sketch:

The team at Freshly Made Sketches has created awesome cards.  We would love it if you could join us with this weeks sketch.

Freshly Made Sketches #315

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches for you.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Amy O’Neill.  Take a look at her fab sketch:

So when you’re craft room is too hot to spend a lot of time being creative in, you go with a clean and simple card with as little stamping as possible.  I might be the only Melbournian wishing for Winter to arrive soon…..

My only stamping comes in the form of a sentiment from Holly Berry Happiness.   I added a thin strip of Basic Black cardstock that was edged with my Ticket Tear Border Punch.  I then cut various snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies.  To add a little bling to my card, I added little black sequins to the centre of each snowflake.  The stitched oval on my card is cut with my Stitched Framelits Dies.  I LOVE Lemon Lime Twist for Christmas – so the DSP I used in the background is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and then I added some Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and tied a knot.

The Clean Team have created gorgeous cards to inspire you.  Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and get ready be to wowed.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #314

Hey Everyone

It’s my turn to be sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I’ve designed the following sketch for this weeks challenge:

Circles are my favourite on a sketch challenge!  Another of my favourite’s is a flower stamp set.  The one I have used on my card is a sneak peak from the upcoming 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue – it’s called Petal Palette.  Can you already tell it’s going to be my new favourite set? I’ve coloured my flowers with my Watercolor Pencils and added a circle of Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack behind them.  I also added a strip of Old Olive DSP from the same DSP Stack.

The background stamp behind my circle is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and is from Graceful Garden Stamp Set.  I then added a thin strip of black sequins and the sentiment is cut with my Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.

Our team have created cards that will surely inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look at their creations.

Just Add Ink #386

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week our challenge is for you to:

This is an easy one challenge to add anything starting with an “R’ on your project – the possibilities are endless!  As I spent the whole weekend with fabulous friends at the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event in Melbourne, I didn’t have a huge amount of time to be super creative.

I decided so go simple with roses and ribbon on my card.  The roses I’ve stamped are from Graceful Garden.  My roses are coloured with So Saffron and Crushed Curry Inks.  The leaves are cut with dies from Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  I’ve used Old Olive cardstock for them.  The strip of designer series paper I’ve used is from Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.  I then added a strip of Basis Black cardstock for another layer – just because you can’t have too many layers! To add some ribbon, I added a thin strip of Vintage Crochet Trim and the sentiment is from Big on Birthdays.

Here’s my card:

The girls from Just Add Ink were a little more creative than me with their projects, so head over to the challenge and take a look.  We’d love to see your project starting with “R”.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #313

Hey Everyone

Time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our fabulous sketch creator is my very talented friend, Karren Johnson. As soon as I saw Karren’s card for this challenge, I immediately fell in love – it is absolutely stunning!  A card after my own heart with truly amazing flowers and perfect colouring.

I have only just realised I’d ordered Stampin’ Up!s Birthday Delivery and it had yet to see ink.  I decided to get a little creative with Karren’s sketch and create a card for a child using this set.  Can you see how I kind of followed the sketch?  Hopefully Karren will think it’s close enough…….  My images are lightly watercoloured in a variety of colours.  For once I think I was able to combine colours and make them look like they belong!

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #312

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest challenges at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the super talented Cecile Ribon.  She is the master of using amazing dies and creates cards that scream elegance.

Take a look at this cool sketch:

I recently purchased Stampin’ Up!s Painted Harvest.  My flowers are stamped with Pool Party and for a deeper contrast I stamped over the top with Bermuda Bay.  The centre of my flowers is stamped with Smoky Slate.  The outline of my leaves is stamped with Basic Black and the centre with Bermuda Bay.  My card was designed around this wonderful sentiment.  I was determined to use this sentiment on my card.

The designer series paper I’ve used on the bottom corner of my card is from Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.  I then added a strip of Black Bakers Twine to bring in more black on my card to tie in with my sequins.

Here’s my card:

Our creative team at Freshly Made Sketches have made cards that will definitely inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

Just Add Ink #384

Hey Everyone

Happy Friday!  I know I’m going to enjoy it as I have a 5 day weekend!!! Doesn’t happen very often and it’s all because of a horse race……that I have absolutely no interest in.  But I’ll take a long weekend for it!

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week is inspiration picture week.  Take a look at the colours in this photo:

My colours aren’t quite as vibrant but as you can see I’ve created flowers in similar colours.  The flowers I’ve watercoloured are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Garden in Bloom.  I’ve given them some colour with Pool Party and So Saffron Inks. I then lightly coloured the leave with very watered down Pool Party.  The sentiment I’ve used on my card is one that I love for the pretty font.  It’s from a set called Colorful Seasons.

Do you find you put extra time and thought into cards for someone you care about?  Especially if they’re cardmaker like you?  I did with this one as it’s going to a friend with love.

The design team have created gorgeous cards with the inspiration pic.  Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.  We would love it if you could play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.
