The Card Concept #29

Hey Everyone

It’s time for another challenge at The Card Concept. We have a wonderful inspiration picture and theme for you to create your cards:

CC29pic

So many colours and my initial thought was “how do I combine that many bright colours for a shabby chic card?”  Flowers seemed the best way to go – here’s what I came up with:

Freshly Made Sketches #163

Hey Everyone

Woohoo it’s Wednesday again so that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch is designed by none other than the fabulously talented Cindy Hall.  Here’s her great sketch:

fms163sketch

As you will see I’ve flipped Cindy’s sketch and used some retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets – Papaya Collage & Sincere Salutations.  Here’s my card. (And yes, I’m still going through my Blendabilities colouring phase).

Head over to the challenge and take a look at the fabulous inspiration from the Clean Team.

Stampin’ Royalty #203 & The Deconstructed Sketch #128

Hey Everyone

Do you ever make a card that comes together really easy and that you feel really happy about?  This happened to me with this card.  Although my photo doesn’t really show the brightness of the Coastal Cabana DSP – it looks prettier in real life.

SR203 & DS128

The colours for my card where from taken from this weeks inspiration picture at Stampin’ Royalty.  I’m so in love with this colour combo!  I dug up some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Spice Cake and teamed it with some current Stampin’ Up! DSP called Aftrnoon Picnic.  The fabulous layout for my card came from this weeks sketch over at The Deconstructed Sketch.  Here are their inspiration pics:

Pals Paper Arts #147 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #35

Hey Everyone’s

Hope you’re all having a wonderful day.  It’s Saturday here in Australia and it looks like it’s going to be a cloudy weekend in Melbourne and then the sun will come out on Monday – isn’t that always the way?!

Pals Paper Arts sketch Queen, Margaret, has given us this fabulous sketch to create our cards:

I’ve combining this sketch with the challenge over at Inspired by Stamping. Their colours for this week are pink, gold & white.  Here’s their inspiration pic:

I probably don’t “do” a lot of pink cards, but I actually like these colours together.  The cardstock I’ve used is from a Stampin’ Up! DSP pack called Fan Fair.  As Stampin’ Up! don’t have pink seam binding, I made my own.  Normally I would drop a couple of drops of my desired re-inker colour into hot water and throw some Very Vanilla seam binding in, but as I don’t have any pink re-inkers, I dragged my seam binding over the ink pad to give it colour.  It’s probably not the exact colour I was going for, but I’m happy with it. Here’s my card:

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #82 & Dynamic Duos #27

Hey Everyone

I woke up at 7.30am this morning (it’s a Sunday I should be sleeping in!) so I headed to my craft cave to enter a couple of challenges I found last night before I went to bed.  My card is for Chupa’s Sketchbook Saturday Challenge where she has come up with this interesting sketch.  I flipped the sketch 90 degrees for my card.

I’ve teamed this sketch with the colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  I had it in my head that I was going to “vintage up” Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple – I might stick with a Christmas card next time I come across these colours! We’re allowed a neutral for these challenges so I’ve gone with Crumb Cake. The designer series paper is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Bella Bleu – I think I’ve only used this once before!

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Bella Bleu (retired)
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green
Stamp Sets: Everything Eleanor, Papaya Collage, Sincere Salutations (retired), Charming (retired)
Other Products: Very Vanilla Seam Binding, Basic Pearls

Freshly Made Sketches #56

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means there’s a new sketch over Freshly Made Sketches.  Rita is this weeks hostess and she has come up with this fabulous sketch.

Freshly Made Sketches is a great challenge for me as it makes me create a cleaner style of card than I usually make. I absolutely love Spice Cake DSP but didn’t think ahead and buy more before it retired 😦  I’ve teamed it with a strip of Festival of Prints DSP – I really love Early Espresso and Pool Party together.  I stopped my self-impossed ban on Stippled Blossoms (felt I was over-using it!) and have used this for my card today.

Here’s what I came up with:

We’d love to see you join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches – head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous cards the design team have created. Thanks for stopping by.

Pals Paper Arts #141

Hey Everyone

I’ve got new toys!!!  I got my Stampin’ Up! pre-order during the week and finally got a chance to play with them today.  So here’s a sneak peak of a new stamp set called Papaya Collage that I admit the only reason I initially brought this was for the leaves stamp.  This  would be a bit naughty of me to use only one stamp from the set, so I decided to use the rose from the set too.  I’ve found I really like this rose, so I’m sure I’ll be using it again soon!  I’ve also used a new designer series paper called Comfort Cafe – don’t you love these colours?

My card tonight is made for this fabulous sketch by Margaret at Pals Paper Arts this week.

Here’s my card:

Thanks for taking a look!

Just Add Ink #126

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my card for this weeks Just Add Ink challenge!  Mae has designed this fabulous sketch and as you can see from my fellow Design Team Members cards – by using this layout you can achieve so many different looks.

My mission, at the moment, is to try and use up some of the DSPs that I’ve been hoarding.  I’ve been holding onto a lot of them as I didn’t want to use them up and not have them at hand anymore.

Check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created this week by heading over to the Just Add Ink challenge blog – I hope you can join us this week!

Thanks for stopping by.

Pals Paper Arts #136 & Create with Connie & Mary #205

Hey Everyone

It’s a long weekend here in Australia so I’m having a wonderful “day of play” in my craft room. I combined three challenges for this card today.  I’m using the colours from this weeks Pals Paper Arts challenge:

And I used this great sketch from Create with Connie & Mary:

And the final challenge I’m entering this card into is this weeks Just Add  Ink challenge – Just Add…. Pearls.  It’s my week off my designing this week, but I thought I would enter just for fun as my card has quite a few pearls on it.

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Each week the Dynamic Duos have a colour theme for us to create our projects.  This weeks theme is Black Tie with a Dessert Option – I’ve gone with the colours provided in the pic below, but I’m not sure if crimping qualifies as dry embossing. If it doesn’t qualify, then I’m going dessertless!

Here’s my card:
