Freshly Made Sketches #138

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is brought to us our very own talented Artisan Design Team Member Jennifer Timko!  So many possibilities with this sketch.

One of the perks of attending Stampin’ Up!s South Pacific Convention is that we receive stamp sets from the upcoming catalogue before it goes live in July.  I have to tell you that I was over the moon when I saw that one of them was Kinda Eclectic – it’s another leaf stamp for me!  I’ve also tried stamping the sunburst from this stamp set behind the leaves (which is kind of like a make and take we made at Convention). The flowers are from Petite Petals and the sentiment is from Simply Sketched.

Create with Connie & Mary #216 & Mojo Monday #256

Hey Everyone

My brother-in-law has recently had a birthday so I’ve created this card using a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Grunge Rock (it was the first time it had been inked up!).  I’ve used the challenge colours from Create with Connie & Mary  to create this card – initially I thought they might be too girlie but I found I really like them for a man card.

I’ve combined challenges as I needed a little inspiration for the layout for my card so I found this sketch from Mojo Monday.  I find creating a man card a bit tricky sometimes as I run out of embellishments to add. When I find a fabulous sketch like this, it gives me the “fullness” I need on a card – does that make sense?

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #38

Hey Everyone

Stampin’ Up! in Australia recently had a special that if you purchased three packs of DSP you received a fourth one free.  I’m a sucker for a special so I took advantage of this offer. One of the packs I got was Pocketful of Posies, one that I’d never even taken notice of before.  I decided to open it today and found I really love a lot of the papers in there!  I found this great sketch by Linda at Freshly Made Sketches and christened my new DSP.

I used an old favourite stamp set that is now retired – Echoes of Kindness.  I stamped the flower and then cut it out.  I then stamped it a second time and coloured in every 2nd petal.  I then cut out the coloured ones and raised them up – not sure if you can see the raised petals in the photo but it looks really effective in real life.  Here’s my card:

The Paper Players Challenge #63

Hey Everyone

This is the colour palette we’re using over at The Paper Players Challenge this week – (love this colour scheme BTW)

When I first sat down to create my card I thought I’d go “Christmas”, but as I had just received a huge box of new catalogue goodies I had oodles of flowery sets I wanted to try first. The flower I’ve used is a from a stamp set called Flower Fest which I stamped three times, cut out and then layered.

Thanks for stopping by.

This card was chosen as A Cut Above at The Players Players Challenge.
