Just Add Ink #157

Hey Everyone

We have a fun challenge for you at Just Add Ink – this weeks theme is to:

Just Add……Green

This challenge is to inspire you to create a project using mostly Green.  You can either make a card for St Patrick’s Day, or as some of the Design Team have created, a card featuring Green.

I haven’t made a St Patrick’s Day card as I really don’t have anyone to give it to, so I’ve gone for a card that used a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Growing “Green”.  I thought it was perfect for a “Green” challenge.  I stamped the fern fronds in Gumball Green and used my blender pen to add a bit of shading to the leaves.  I then stamped the butterfly from Papillion Potpourri in Gumball Green.  This challenge has given me the chance to show of some of the pretty DSPs from Print Poetry DSP Stack.  The DSP I used in the background was a piece that I had sitting on my desk from another project.  It’s from a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Cottage Wall DSP.

Here’s my very overloaded Green card:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #242

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing with you today is for this weeks Create with Connie & Mary Challenge.  Our challenge is to create a project using the following colours:

These colours are waaaaaay brighter than what I would normally combine but it just so happens that I have a niece who’s having a birthday soon, so I decided these colours would be perfect for a young miss birthday card.  I also wanted to make something other than a feminine florally card as I think I overload you with them!  Notice there’s no seam binding or distressing on this card? 🙂

The spotted Designer Series Paper I’ve used is from Stampin’ Up!s Print Poetry Designer Series Stack. It showcases our current in-colours beautifully. I’ve combined it with Primrose Petals and Summer Starfruit Designer Series paper.  As I don’t really have a lot of age appropriate stamps (most of mine are flower stamp sets), I’ve opted for butterflies.  I hope she likes them!

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #236

Hey Everyone

We have a pretty colour combination for you this week at Create with Connie & Mary – Raspberry Ripple, Pretty in Pink, and Lucky Limeade.

Straight away I thought of a feminine flowery card (although I think I probably choose that theme for every card I make!). I’ve used my new Stampin’ Up! stamp set and matching framelits called Secret Garden.  I love the ease of these framelits – no fussy cutting!  I also have a sneak peak of a new Designer Series Stack called Print Poetry.  Because I felt this DSP was quite “busy”, I reduced the size of it which gave me more of a Very Vanilla edge around the outside – it then didn’t seem as “busy”. Does that make sense?

Here’s my card:
