Freshly Made Sketches #314

Hey Everyone

It’s my turn to be sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I’ve designed the following sketch for this weeks challenge:

Circles are my favourite on a sketch challenge!  Another of my favourite’s is a flower stamp set.  The one I have used on my card is a sneak peak from the upcoming 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue – it’s called Petal Palette.  Can you already tell it’s going to be my new favourite set? I’ve coloured my flowers with my Watercolor Pencils and added a circle of Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack behind them.  I also added a strip of Old Olive DSP from the same DSP Stack.

The background stamp behind my circle is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink and is from Graceful Garden Stamp Set.  I then added a thin strip of black sequins and the sentiment is cut with my Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.

Our team have created cards that will surely inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look at their creations.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #386

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week our challenge is for you to:

This is an easy one challenge to add anything starting with an “R’ on your project – the possibilities are endless!  As I spent the whole weekend with fabulous friends at the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Onstage Event in Melbourne, I didn’t have a huge amount of time to be super creative.

I decided so go simple with roses and ribbon on my card.  The roses I’ve stamped are from Graceful Garden.  My roses are coloured with So Saffron and Crushed Curry Inks.  The leaves are cut with dies from Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  I’ve used Old Olive cardstock for them.  The strip of designer series paper I’ve used is from Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.  I then added a strip of Basis Black cardstock for another layer – just because you can’t have too many layers! To add some ribbon, I added a thin strip of Vintage Crochet Trim and the sentiment is from Big on Birthdays.

Here’s my card:

The girls from Just Add Ink were a little more creative than me with their projects, so head over to the challenge and take a look.  We’d love to see your project starting with “R”.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #303

Hey Everyone

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the Queen of Backgrounds (I’m giving her that title if she doesn’t already have it!) Karren Johnson, my super talented and creative friend from NZ.  Think I’m going to have to book a flight to NZ soon just to go touch in her stuff in her craft room! Oh, and to say hello of course!  I saw return flights from Australia for only $236 the other day.  I might have to lock in some travel dates!

Floral Statements is a stamp set that I had sitting on my desk unlinked – I felt the sketch worked perfectly for this combined pretty rose image and sentiment.  The flowers are stamped in Black Archival Ink and watercoloured in Calypso Coral and Old Olive Ink.  I then added a strip of of Calypso Coral DSP from Petal Gardens Designer Series Paper Stack.  I added some Black Bakers Twine, a bow and created two banners – one in Petal Gardens DSP Stack and one in Basic Black cardstock.  My banners are attached with a couple of staples – just because I haven’t used my stapler in ages!

Here’s my card:

You may know by now that I’m not one for a flat card, so I stamped a second image and watercoloured it.  After a bit of fussy cutting, I then added dimensionals and layered it over the top of the original image.  I took a photo to try and show you the layered image – hope you can see my fussy cutting and the extra height I’ve given to all the flowers and leaves.

The design team have created gorgeous cards to inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and get ready to be wowed!

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #299

Hey Everyone

The very talented Kim Singdahlsen is our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  She has created this fantastic sketch for us:

I often make collections of cards, especially for my classes.  For this card I’ve used the same colours and stamp set as a card I posted on Sunday as I may end up using them for a class.  Click here to see my previous card.

This pretty rose stamp is from Stampin’ Up!s Graceful Garden.  I watercoloured my rose with Calypso Coral Ink and outlined the petals with my Calypso Coral Marker.  The background stamp is also stamped with Calypso Coral Ink.  The strips of designer series paper are from Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.

The sentiment is from Big on Birthdays, and as you can tell, it’s my favourite sentiment stamp set at the moment.

Here’s my card:

The cards the design team have created are just gorgeous and will inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

CAS(E) This Sketch #232

Hey Everyone

I’ve had a weekend of play in my craft room – woohoo!  I managed to get in front with my design team cards for the next couple of weeks and then I had time to play along with another challenge.

The card I’ve made is for this great sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.

By now you may’ve noticed a love a flower stamp set……haha – as if you didn’t know that!  I knew Graceful Garden was a must-have in my first Stampin’ Up! order from the new catalogue.  I used my Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencil to colour in the petals and then my matching Calypso Coral Marker to give the petals definition.  These rose stamps have leaves and a stem attached to them, but I trimmed the leaves off the images once I coloured them and placed them under the roses.  The leaves are lightly watercoloured with Old Olive Ink.

The strip of designer series paper is from Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.  There are so many pretty papers in this stack that I can’t stop using!  The sequins are copper (even though they make not look it in my photo) and I’ve paired them with some Copper Trim under my sentiment.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Colorful Seasons – the font in this set really appeals to me.

Here’s my card:

The Paper Players #354

Hey Everyone

Do you ever get stuck on where to start with a card?  Whenever I do, I head to my favourite sketch or colour challenges and join in.  The card I made today was for the sketch challenge at The Paper Players.

Here’s Jaydee’s great sketch:

I received lots of new Stampin’ Up! goodies a couple of weeks ago and love that when I’m sitting in my craft room, I have heaps of new products to choose from.  It’s hard to know where to start!

The flowers I’ve used on my card are stamped with Oh So Eclectic stamp set and then I’ve used the coordinating dies – Eclectic Layers Thinlits Dies.  I didn’t realise until I opened the set that there are so many useful dies in there!  The sentiment I’ve used is from Big on Birthdays – it’s kind of my go-to sentiment at the moment.

The strip of designer series paper in the background is Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.  There are so many pretty designs in this pack.

Here’s my card:
