Freshly Made Sketches #451

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches and this weeks sketch hostess is me! I’ve created a simple sketch but doesn’t mean I’ve kept my card simple. I LOVE details and layering.

The Flowering Blooms Stamp Set has been one I’ve been itching to use. The flowers in this stamp set were made for colouring. I’ve given the larger blooms some colour with Purple Posy and Highland Heather Blends.  The smaller flowers have been coloured with my Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Blends. The leaves have been shaded with Mint Macaron Blends. The flowers and leaves have all been fussy cut and layered on DSP from Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from the Flowering Blooms Stamp Set. Three Basic Rhinestone Jewels were added because my cards just aren’t complete without them.

Make sure you head over to the challenge and see the gorgeous creations the team have created with my sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #255

Hey Everyone

I have to say, I’m actually enjoying my lockdown weekends. Only being allowed out to go to the supermarket and one hour of exercise a day, means more time in my craft room!  If only I could bring myself to clean it……

I’ve managed to play along with the latest challenge at Global Design Project. Take a look at their fab challenge:

I could’ve used pretty much all of my Stampin’ Up! Sets in my craft room for this challenge, as they almost all have leaves in them!  The set I’ve chosen is called Forever Fern Stamp Set.  The leaf images that I’ve stamped, in Mint Macaron and Smoky Slate, have been fussy cut and layered about the sentiment – also from the Forever Fern Stamp Set.  I love that this set also has background ink splatters – you can never have to many ink splatter stamps!

The designer series paper I’ve roughed up is from the Peony Gardens Designer Series Paper pack.  I also roughed up the edges of a piece of Mint Macaron Cardstock to layer underneath.  I added some Linen Thread strips and a Linen Thread Bow to finish off my card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #517

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday so that means a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week our challenge is a sketch challenge. Take a look at the sketch we have for you:

As you can see I flipped my card as I thought it fitted my images this way. The Tasteful Touches Stamp Set was one that I knew I had to have. You can see why. These flowers are just gorgeous and perfect for colouring. I’ve given one flower colour with my Petal Pink Blends and the other with my Dark Petal Pink and Real Red Blends.  For both of them, I used my Dark Smoky Slate Blend in the crease lines for extra definition. I gave the centre of the flowers a light colour with my Dark So Saffron Blend.

For the branches, I took my Soft Suede and Mossy Meadow Markers and applied colour directly to the image before huffing on it and stamping it on to Whisper White Cardstock. I repeated the process for the second branch and then took a little time to fussy cut them out.

I cut a rectangle piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the geometric background stamp in Smoky Slate Ink until I achieved a covering that I liked.  The two pieces of designer series paper I added to my Whisper White base are from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper.

The sentiment I’ve adhered to my card is from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set. I took a die from the matching Tasteful Labels Dies that fit the sentiment and cut it with my cutting machine. Before I stuck my sentiment to my card, I took a piece of Linen Thread and looped it around my card twice and added a bow. One last element I added was a Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewel because of it’s pink tone.

The design team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous inspiration with the sketch. Head over to the challenge and make sure you check out cards the team have made.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #444

Hey Everyone

Wednesday’s mean a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our sketch has been designed by Jennifer Timko, whose cards are always wonderful and always make me smile.

In case you haven’t noticed, I do love a flower stamp set. I also love colouring so as soon as I saw the So Much Love Stamp Set – I knew we were a perfect match!

This Gray Granite DSP, from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper pack, was sitting on my desk from a previous project, so I added it to my card. From this, I then chose the colour of my blends to colour the flowers.  I went for a combination of So Saffron, and Mango Melody Blends.  For the leaves, I went for Soft Sea Foam Blends.  For the tiny flower buds, I chose the Dark Pumpkin Pie Blend.  I then got my fussy cutting on.  After I’d cut out my two flowers, I added Night of Navy Cardstock for a contrast colour behind the layers. A sentiment was added from the So Much Love Stamp Set and my card was done.

The team have created gorgeous cards to inspire you. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what they’ve created with their awesomeness.

Thanks for stopping by.

Global Design Project #249

Hey Everyone

There’s a new challenge at the Global Design Project.  This combination of colours is super pretty and I couldn’t resist playing along.

I started off with choosing a stamp set – Forever Fern Stamp Set was my set of choice.  I wanted to see if the images from this set worked with the challenge colours and I think they do!

The designer series paper I’ve used in the background is from the Peony Garden DSP pack.  I’ve roughed the edges of this piece, giving it a bit of a tear here and there.  I then took a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and daubed the background with Pool Party Ink. The script stamp I’ve added to this piece of cardstock is from the Very Versailles Stamp Set and is stamped in Petal Pink Ink.  I’ve really torn and roughed up the edges on this piece.

I cracked open my Tasteful Labels Dies and die cut two stitched dies in Misty Moonlight and Petal Pink Cardstock. The sentiment I’ve used is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set. I’ve stamped this with Misty Moonlight Ink and it has also been die cut with one of the dies.

A strip of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was added as well as a bow for that vintage-y feel. Elegant Faceted Gems finished off my card – as always three were added.

Thanks for stopping by.
