My Mummy’s 70th!

Hey Everyone

This week my mum has turned the big 70!  My mum is a huge lover of my vintage-y type cards so I made her this card to celebrate her special day.

The colours I’ve used on my card are Mint Macaron (oh I will miss this colour), Basic Black, Powder Pink, Crumb Cake and of course Whisper White.  The designers series paper I’ve used is now retired.  It’s from Urban Underground Specialty DSP.  The flowers, as you will have seen from the many times I’ve used it, is from one of my favourites and now retired sets called Penned & Painted.  The sentiment and numbers are from Memorable Moments.  The diecut leaves are made with Flourish Thinlits.  I had lots of fun going back to dirty and tatty edges with this card.  Anything for my mum!

Here’s my card:

Happy Birthday Mummy!  Hoping you have another fabulous 70 years ahead!

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #362

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you:

When I saw these colours, I wasn’t sure what kind of card I was going to make.  In the end I decided to keep a lot of white space and use the colours for my flowers and leaves.  I was really pleased how the card came together by keeping it simple.

I’ve used my favourite flowers from Penned & Painted on my card – so sad it’s retired (sniff).  I love them stamped in Peekaboo Peach and paired with Bermuda Bay leaves.  The centre of flower is coloured in black but I didn’t love that look so I added some white dots with my white gel pen.  I really like this effect and I think it makes the centre of the flowers pop.  To add Pool Party to my card, I stamped the leaves from Jar of Love directly to my card base.  I also used a strip of Pool Party cardstock and Pool Party Bakers Twine.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Blooms and Wishes.  The little sequin is actually Bermuda Bay but for some reason it’s photographed black….

Here’s my card:

Onstage Team Gifts

Hey Everyone

I made some gifts for my fellow Just Add Ink Design Team members for Stampin’ Up!s Onstage Event last year (yes, last year).  I only just found the photos and thought it better late than never in sharing them.

The Clear Tiny Treat Boxes are filled with chocolate eclairs and ferrero rochers.  I chose these chocolates because of the gold packaging – they matched the gold spots on the designer series paper from Pop of Pink Specialty DSP.  I added a strip of Basic Black cardstock and then a strip of Sweet Sugarplum Ruched Ribbon.  I then tied a bow with some Gold Ribbon, added a strip of gold sequins and used a glue dot to adhere them under the flowers.

My flowers are from my favourite (but soon to be retired) stamp set called Penned and Painted.  I stamped the flower in Basic Black and the centre is stamped in Sweet Sugarplum and Blushing Bride.  The outline of the leaves is also stamped in Basic Black and the centre is stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Always Artichoke.  To finish them off I added a “For You” sentiment from a stamp set that I can’t quite remember at the moment – because it was last year and my memory is shocking……

I hope you like them.  I’ll be back tomorrow with some more gifts that I made for the same event.

Thanks for stopping by.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #7

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is for the newest colour challenge and at Colour INKspiration Challenge.

Colour INKspiration is found on Facebook – we would love it if you could play along.  Link up a project to our Facebook page.  You have two weeks create a project. I can’t wait to see what you create with this very pretty colour combo below:

I’ve been away on our yearly holiday for the past 10 days and made this card while I was away.  I try and fit as many Stampin’ Up! products as I can into the boat to take along, but when it comes down to making a card, I always find I never have exactly what I need.  When all else fails, Penned and Painted is my fallback stamp set.  For some extra interest I added some pink accents from Oh So Succulent and some leaves from Picture Perfect – quite a combination of sets!

Here’s my card:

The next hop along the way is the wonderfully talented (and fellow Melbournian) Rachel Palmieri.  You’re going to love Rachel’s project as much as I do!

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #273

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  The super talented and creator of the most amazing backgrounds, Karren Johnson has designed this cool sketch:

I love everything about this sketch.  I had lots of plans to create a masculine card, but somehow I’ve ended up with another floral card.  Oh well – I find that I need more feminine floral cards anyway.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #344

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week the challenge is to create a project using the following inspiration pic – a pic that was suggested by Kim.

I’ve taken inspiration from the pool and used Pool Party as the main colour on my card.  I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Penned and Painted and have given my Watercolor Pencils another run.
