The Card Concept #3

Hey Everyone

Welcome to our third Card Concept challenge.  This week is a monochromatic pink challenge.  We have this fabulous inspiration pic to create your projects.

The inspiration for my card came from the pretty pink roses in the photo and I’ve added a green bow that I took from the background in the pic.

Pals Paper Arts #180 & Dynamic Duos “Triple Threat Challenge” #80

Hey Everyone

This is my second post today – to see my earlier post you can click here.  The challenges I’m entering my card into are Pals Paper Arts and Dynamic Duos “Triple Threat Challenge”.  Here are their inspiration pics:

It’s been ages since I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Secret Garden, so I’ve dusted it off and used it today.  The flowers are stamped in Raspberry Ripple and lightly coloured with my blender pen. The sentiment I’ve used is also a Stampin’ Up! one called Blooming with Kindness.  I found that when I went looking for some Blushing Bride DSP, I only had some off-cuts from a retired Hostess Gift pack (I think!).  I might have to get myself a new DSP stack in my next order.

Mojo Monday Challenge #314

Hey Everyone

This is my second card today using Stampin’ Up!s retired Simply Scrappin’ Kit called Bella Rose.  The challenge I’m entering my card into is the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.  Here’s their sketch:

The combination of Old Olive, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red is such a pretty combination and I’m really happy with how this card turned out.

Freshly Made Sketches #91 & Dynamic Duos #57

Hey Everyone

Wednesday’s bring another sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  The very talented  Cindy Hall is this weeks sketch hostess.  She creates the most beautiful cards that you’ll want to check out – so head over to her blog and take a look.

I’ve been a bit unwell with a migraine that stayed for 4 days (ugh!), so I really only threw my card together in a short time.  Not sure if it came out like I had pictured in my head because it’s been a bit fuzzy, but it was all I could come up with in the short time I had!

I needed a little help with what colours to use on my card so I used this weeks colour challenge at Dynamic Duos to give me a hand.

I finally got my Stampin’ Up! pre-order but have only had a quick look at my new goodies.  I’m looking forward to the weekend so I can have a proper chance to play.  I’ve used two new stamps sets from the 2013 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue – Simply Sketched and Express yourself.  These products will be available to order from 2nd July.  Here’s my card:

We’d love for you to join us at Freshly Made Sketches, so head over to the challenge and link up a card.  While you’re there check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created.

Stampin’ Royalty #165 & Inspired by Stamping #48

Hey Everyone

The Design Team over at Stampin’ Royalty have given us a sketch this week to create our cards. I’ve taken a bit of liberty with their sketch and flipped it on it’s side.  I also moved the placement of my ribbon a tad – it just worked better on my card. Take a look at their fab sketch:

I’ve combined the sketch challenge with the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping.  When I first started layering the Pear Pizzazz and Blushing Bride cardstock, all I could think of creating was a baby card. As I don’t need a baby card at the moment, I was determined to make these colours work for a feminine card. I was really pleased with how my card turned out and next time I might not automatically think of a baby card when I see these colours together.

I’ve used a “congratulations” sentiment for my card as I think it looks like a wedding card.  But really it could work as a Birthday, Engagement or even a Mother’s Day card. The sentiment can be easily interchanged at the last minute. Here’s my card:

Stampin’ Royalty #159 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #42

Hey Everyone

I’ve combined a couple of challenges for my card today.  The sketch challenge from Stampin’ Royalty and the colour challenge from Inspired by Stamping.

I’ve taken a bit of creative licence with the sketch and moved one of the half circles on my card, just because my doily then looked complete.

A few weeks ago I brought some Inspired by Stamping stamp sets as I wanted to try some out some different stamps.  It’s been a long time since I’ve used anything that’s not Stampin’ Up!.  I really love Stampin’ Up! and will be a demonstrator for a while yet, but I thought I would check out some other stamps every now and then.

Here’s my card with a mix of Inspired by Stamping and Stampin’ Up!
