Just Add Ink #213

Hey Everyone

Nikki is our hostess at Just Add Ink this week – take a look at the totally fabulous inspiration pic she has found.

JAI213pic

I had a go at re-creating the cluster of flowers on the cake as I thought they were so pretty. I played around with my Stampin’ Up! Pansy punch to create the pink flowers and I used my new Petite Petals punch to create the little flowers.  I ran the edges of all of these flowers through some Blushing Bride ink to give the edges a bit of colour.  I then rolled up some Coastal Cabana cardstock in a ball and stuck them together with Crystal Effects to create the little blue buds.  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #35

Hey Everyone

My mission this morning was to clean up my messy desk and unearth my bone folder! Mission accomplished and while I was at it, I found this flower that I had discarded from another project, so I decided I would use it on a card today.

Jennifer from Freshly Made Sketches has provided the following great sketch for this weeks challenge:

Here’s my card:

Pals Paper Arts #116

Hey Again Everyone

Over at Pals Paper Arts this week they have a sketch challenge for us.  I love a sketch challenge as most of the thinking is already done for me so I can whip up my card a bit quicker than usual – I think this card only took me 2 hours! (or close to it). Once again, I’ve gone for a shadow box type card.

I was laughing with one of the girls at work yesterday about her attending a wedding today and she hadn’t made the card yet.  I also have a wedding to attend in November and was quite pleased with myself as I have already made the card 2 weeks ago.  When I saw the sketch at Pals Paper Arts this week, the only thought that came to my mind was a wedding card and now that I’ve made this one, I think I’ll give this one to my husbands workmate in November (I like this card better than my previous one). Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #82 – Just Add Something from Your Stash!

Hey Everyone

At Just Add Ink this week the challenge is to Just Add Something from Your Stash.  My stash has alot of retired products in it as up until I got my craft room in January this year I tended to buy (lots) and not really make anything because it was always too hard to find what I wanted in the various cupboards I was using as storage.  Now that I can see what I’ve got and then I got this blog going, I’m determined to use up the old stuff.  What I found in my filing cabinet was retired Pale Plum cardstock (3 packets of it!) and 2 packets of Cottage Wall DSP (which I just had to have at the time – still sitting unopened!).

I’m pretty happy with the way this flower came out (even though my button looks slightly crooked in the photo).  I found a tutorial on the 5 Petal Flower Punch here on Vicky Hayes’ site but have used the Fancy Flower Punch on mine.

Thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Cottage Wall DSP (retired), Pale Plum (retired), Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Stamp Sets: French Foliage, Short & Sweet

PPA102 – Summertime & The Livin’ is Easy

Hey Everyone

Another Sunday, another day spent at the footy with my son in the freezing cold.  Luckily the rain held off until we were leaving this week.  This week at Pals Paper Arts their challenge is Summertime & the livin’ is easy.  We used the following photo for inspiration to make whatever summer says to us.

I really love the colours used in the photo, but as I sat down to make my card I threw the inital idea I had out the window and changed my colours to Basic Black and Daffodil Delight.  The Daffodil Delight was used because it’s the colour of the sun and the Basic Black just because it went with the Daffodil Delight!

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Basic Black DSP
Ink: Basic Black
Stamp Sets: Very Vintage Jumbo Wheel, Short & Sweet
Other Products: Brads, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Flower Punches, Bird Punch

Pals Paper Arts #100 & Mojo Monday #197

Hey Everyone

Pals Paper Arts are celebrating their 100th Challenge is week.  Their challenge is to use our favourite technique.  One of my favourite techniques (although I have many) is masking.  I often using this technique when I use Sense of Time so I can get some words stamped around it. I’ve also daubed and made my own flower – do they count as techniques?

The design for my card is from this weeks sketch at the Mojo Monday Challenge – Round or Square. I decided this week to make a square card.

Ink:Black Stazon
