Freshly Made Sketches #103

Hey Everyone

I’m going to be quick with my post today as I’ve had no internet access since Saturday and I’m using the internet on my phone.  I’m not sure how much data I’ve used on my phone and it gets really expensive if you go over your allowance.

Our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week is Jennifer Brum.  She has created this fabulous sketch that I think works when it’s flipped both sideways and longways.

Not really feeling this photo as I decided to go monochromatic and it looks quite dull.  The Pistachio Pudding colour scheme actually looks a lot brighter in real life.  Here’s what I came up with:

Retro Sketches #80 & Stampin’ Royalty #192

Hey Everyone

I’ve had a busy weekend with my niece’s baby shower yesterday and an Under 18s Football Grand Final this morning – our club lost 😦 – so I haven’t had much of a chance to play in my craft room.  I did however get a chance to make one card for this weeks Retro Sketch Challenge and the theme challenge at Stampin’ Royalty where the challenge is to make a project using patterned paper.

I know I’ve said this before, but I find man cards not as easy to make as female cards because I can’t tizz them up with bows, bling and flowers.   I thought the sketch at Retro Sketches would be perfect for a man card with all it’s banners and layers.  I’ve used some washi tape for the first time on my card and as I found my stapler, I was able to staple the ribbon around the grommet just for a different look.  Here’s my card:

Dynamic Duos #68, SU Only Challenges #78 & Cardabilities #81

Hey Everyone

I made this card earlier but have only just had a chance to post it now as we’ve just been out for a lovely Father’s Day dinner.  The challenges I’m entering my card into are the colour challenge at Dynamic Duos, SU Only Challenge where their challenge is to create a projecting with Ribbons & Bows and the layout is from the sketch challenge at Cardabilities.

I’ve gone for another feminine florally card using Morning Meadow and Summer Silhouettes.  My sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  My Perfect Plum ribbon is created by dyeing some Very Vanilla Seam Binding and the colour I’ve teamed with Perfect Plum is Pistachio Pudding.  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #100

Hey Everyone

This week is a special week at Freshly Made Sketches as it’s our 100th challenge! Because of this celebration some of the Design Team have generously donated prizes to be randomly drawn, so you’re going to want to play along. The team decided that it would be fun to re-visit our first sketch for this weeks challenge.

As Cindy was the very first Queen at Freshly Made Sketches, we thought it only fitting that she get to choose our Queen this week.  We also have some familiar Guest Designers joining us in our challenge – all of the talented ladies have guest designed at FMS along the way.

I played along with the first sketch, but looking back at it now, I find my card very blah – so there was no way I was putting a link back to it!  For my re-do for this challenge I made my card into a square card and have moved sentiment a squidge from where it was supposed to be.  I’m trying new colours and have teamed Basic Black, Coastal Cabana and Crushed Curry.  The stamp set I’ve used is a Stampin’ Up! Hostess set called Morning Meadow.  Anything with a flower in it and it’s on my need-to-have list! The sentiment I’ve used is from Chalk Talk and the leaves are from Secret Garden.

We hope you get a chance to play along with our 100th sketch challenge, so pop over to Freshly Made Sketches and link up a card.  While you’re there check out the gorgeous inspiration from the Clean Team and the Guest Designers.

Thanks for stopping by.
