Merry Monday Challenge #56

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday, so that means it’s Merry Monday time again! Lesley has created this interesting sketch for us this week.  I love how all the Merry Makers have created different cards using this sketch.

MMC56sketch

I’ve used some retired Stampin’ Up! designer series paper – Holly Jolly DSP – for my card. I still have quite a bit lying around and it feels really good to use it up. The Evergreen trees are stamped in Old Olive and my sentiment is from a retired Stampin’ Up set called Many Merry Messages.  I must be going through a green phase because I’ve created yet again, another mostly green card.

We’d love for you to join us this week – head over to Lesley’s blog and see what the Merry Makers have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday Challenge #50

Hey Everyone

It’s time for another Merry Monday Challenge!  This weeks theme is Elegance.  Lesley’s challenge for us is to create an Elegant Christmas card.

MMC50pic

When I tried to think of what’s elegant, I automatically thought of Black and White – I figure you can’t go wrong with these classy colours. I heat embossed the Christmas bauble and my sentiment with Silver embossing powder to add that little bit of extra elegance. To finish off the card I added a large pearl and a big Satin bow.

Here’s my card:

Merry Monday Challenge #45

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday, so that means Merry Monday time.  This week is sketch week for us – here’s Lesley’s sketch:

MMC45sketch

I’ve gone with minimal layers (for me), no seam binding and not a huge amount of fussy cutting – for once.  It’s probably a good card for me to make to send in the post because it’s one of the lightest cards I’ve made! Here’s what I came up with:

Freshly Made Sketches #65 & Dynamic Duos #33

Hey Again Everyone

I’ve got another quick card for you tonight that I made for two challenges – Linda’s sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches and for the colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.

Here’s their inspiration pics:

Instead of a rectangle card as in the sketch, I’ve gone with a square card (hope that’s ok?).  Here’s what I came up with:

Pals Paper Arts #148

Hey Everyone

The Design Team at Pals Paper Arts have give us the following colours to use for our projects this week.

PPA148pic

I have to tell you this card came about because of my mum.  She phoned me just before I was about to create my card and I told her I hadn’t opened my core-dinations cardstock as yet.  She also asked me to stamp up some holly from Watercolour Winter for her so I decided to use some on my card too. Thanks for the inspiration mum!

Merry Monday Challenge #43

Hey Everyone

Where has the year gone? It feels like the year rocketed by, don’t you think?  One good thing is that I’m actually organised with Christmas cards (for once!) – thanks to my weekly Merry Monday Challenge.  This is our last Merry Monday sketch for 2012, but don’t worry, we’ll be back in 2013.  Here’s Lesley’s sketch this week:

And here’s my card:

Lesley, the Merry Makers and I will be back to start a new stash of Christmas cards on the 7th January – but for now head over to Lesley’s blog and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created this week.

Merry Monday Challenge #42

Hey Everyone

Do you love a sketch with banners in it?  Well we have the sketch for you over at Merry Monday. Lesley has created this awesome sketch:

I had my heat embossing tool out over the weekend for another project so I’ve done a bit of embossing for the sentiment and the baubles on this card. I also had this retired Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cocoa DSP on my desk from the wedding card I made, so I thought I’d make use of it also.  Here’s my card:

We’d love to see what you create with this great sketch – head over to the challenge and check out what the Design Team have created.

Just Add Ink #144

Hey Everyone

It’s Just Add Ink time again! We’ve got a fabulous challenge for you this week – Trish is this weeks hostess and she’s given us the very inventive challenge to:

Just Add…….Music!

I’ve got a whole heap of Christmas cards, but I thought I’d add another to my stash because I felt music notes fitted with the whole Christmasy theme.  For something really different my card basic is Very Vanilla – something I rarely do. I find whenever I make a Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake card I never get a great photo (it’s a bit wishy-washy) but it looks much prettier in real-life.

We’d love for you to join us this week over at Just Add Ink – head over to the challenge and check out the beautiful cards the Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday Challenge #41

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch over at Merry Monday today.  I’d have to say this one was a bit tricky for me, so in the end to make my card work, I flipped the sketch on it’s side.

I may’ve purchased too many packs of Stampin’ Up! Christmas DSP as it’s coming close to Christmas and I’ve still got heaps of DSP left.  Next year I’m going to reduce the amount I buy.  I tend to buy one or two of every Christmas pack without thinking if I’m going to use it all! For this card I’ve used some of my Be of Good Cheer DSP and teamed it with Early Espresso for something different.

We’d love for you to join us over at Merry Monday.  Head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous inspiration the Design Team have come up with.
