Pals Paper Arts #146

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card – don’t you just love it when you have a productive day making cards?  My card is created for Pals Paper Arts where their challenge this week is to create a project using the following colours:

As usual I start off my card with designer series papers in mind. I pick a pack and off I go to make my card.  I’ve used a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Love Letter DSP – it’s my absolute favourite! Here’s what I came up with:

CASE Study Challenge #112

Hey Everyone

It’s feels like ages since I’ve had a chance to play along with the girls at CASE Study Challenge.  This months muse is Julia Stainton – how gorgeous is this card that the design team have asked us to CASE this week?

The inspiration for my card came from the strips that Julia has used on her card, but instead of strips I’ve used rectangles.  I chose to use Basic Black and Very Vanilla as the colours on my card – nothing like Julia’s really, but I thought there was no way I could even come up with colours that look as amazing as  hers!

Here’s my card:

Merry Monday Challenge – Something Different Week 4

Hey Everyone

So this one started after a phone conversation with my mum….  We were discussing punches and I said my first punch was the Round Tab punch – not sure why this was my first – and how I’ve barely used it in the 3 years since I’ve owned it!  I said to my mum that I was going to use it on a card – easier said than done.

For my last week of using the same sketch at Merry Monday for the month of July I decided I’d like to make a card where I could add a gift card somewhere on the card.  I ended up taking the easy way out last year and gave lots of gift cards instead of pressies, so I wanted to play around with this years cards and add a pocket or something similar to hide the gift cards in. I’ve used the Two Tags die and created a pouch and added it to the front of the card.  Not sure if I’m loving this card but it will do for now.  It will need some tweaking before Christmas comes because it was very fiddly.

Here’s my gift card, card:

And here’s a picture of how the flap opens and where the gift card hides:

Merry Monday Challenge – Something Different Week 2

Hey Everyone

This is week 2 of Lesley’s month long Merry Monday Challenge for July.  While Lesley’s taking a well deserved blogging break we are holding the fort and creating one card a week from our favourite past Merry Monday sketch (click here to take you to the full list of sketches to choose from).  You can join in at anytime over the next three weeks – we’d love to see you play along.

I’ve chosen the sketch below to create my 4 different cards this month.  Click here to see my take on this sketch from last week.  This time I decided to change it up from a cleaner card and ended up going vintage with it:

Here’s my card:

Please check out what fabulous cards the Merry Makers have created and if you have time, we hope you can join in.

Thanks for taking a look.

Mojo Monday #235

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card, this time for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.  I made some flowers for the card I made earlier today and didn’t use them all on that card, so I made it my mission to use them up for this card.

Here’s this week sketch:

Freshly Made Sketches #23

Hey Everyone

Tui has provided us with the following cool sketch for this weeks challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was a little sidetracked today as I had kids in the pool splashing me thru the doorway while I was trying to make my cards.  For some reason I started with Baja Breeze seam binding as the starting point for my card and then I continued making the card from there.  As with my previous post today I’ve used Fifth Avenue Floral mainly because it’s an old fave and also because I had it out on my desk! Here’s what I came up with:

Hey Again

This is my last one for tonight and then it’s time to settle down to watch the Brownlow Medal Count (that’s the best for fairest for Aussie Rules Footy for those who don’t know). I’m entering this card for the sketch challenge at Stampin Royalty this week.  This is their sketch that I used for inspiration to create my card.

Here’s what I came up with – I’m lovin’ Pool Party BTW!

I placed my pearls on the opposite side to sketch as I felt it balanced my card out a little better.  Thanks for stopping by!
