Urban Underground Card Class

Hey Everyone

I created projects recently for my class girls that featured Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper before it retired. It’s taken me a few weeks to remember I hadn’t put them on my blog.

The two first projects are using Stampin’ Up!s Dragonfly Dreams.  I was so glad that this stamp set carried over as it’s one of my favourites.

This is one of my go-to layouts.  I’m a huge circle fan and by layering some circles and adding a couple of banners, the card has a fullness to it that I love. My dragonfly is lightly coloured with Stampin’ Up!s Watercolor Pencils to give it a little more definition and I added some Black Metallic Thread to finish it off.

For my second project we made a post-it notepad holder with calendar.  We used the same pencil technique to give the dragonfly a bit of colour.  I stamped this fabulous sentiment from Beautiful You as it fit perfectly on my card stock and also because I really liked the words. I added some Black Linen Thread and a sequin just because I liked the look of it!

We then moved on to Stampin’ Up!s Lift Me Up stamp set.  We created two cards using this set.

The first card could be for either a male or a female with these colours and these stamps.  My usual cards are florally so it’s nice to have a card in my stash for a man.  If we had more time in the class, we could’ve coloured the balloons, but I liked them clean and didn’t want them to clash with the background DSP.

Our last card was a shaker card.  We’d never made one before and I hoped they liked it.  Shaker cards are fun and can be used for any age group.

I hope you enjoyed these projects.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #360

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch waiting for you at Just Add Ink and this week I’m the sketch designer.  As always when I design a sketch, I’ve got NO clue what card I’m going to create.  In fact I created two because I wasn’t sure which one I liked best…..same sketch, but each so different.

Here’s the sketch I came up with:

The first of my cards is a shaker card.  Stampin’ Up!s Life Me Up is such a versatile stamp set that lends itself to either a feminine card or a masculine card.  Because I’ve used a bit of bling and gold ribbon, I think I’ll give this card to a female. The DSP I’ve used is from Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper. I made sure I stocked up on this before it retires.

Here’s the second card I made.  I used the sketch to make a Mother’s Day card for my mum with some new Stampin’ Up! goodies.  The Daisy Delight Bundle is going to be a favourite for sure. When I first joined Stampin’ Up!, I purchased every coordinating stamp set and punch bundle there was. They really make stamping and cutting so easy. The colours I’ve used are Berry Burst and Lemon Lime Twist (you’ve probably noticed my love for these colours in my last couple of cards!).  The background behind my stitched circle was created by the smooshing technique and ink splatters from Swirly Bird. I was in the mood on the weekend for mastering this technique and ended up with really inky fingers!

The design team have created the most gorgeous cards this week.  I totally love them all! Head over to Just Add Ink and get ready to be inspired by them.

We would love it if you could play along!

Just Add Ink #343 Pop Up or Interactive Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to our first challenge of 2017 at Just Add Ink.  We’re starting off 2017 with a blog hop.  Our challenge for you is to:

Just Add Pop Up or Interactive

This is probably the first pop up card I’ve made in over a year.  Challenges like this are great for me, they really get me creating out of my comfort zone.  This card with it’s neutral colours could be for either a male or female, but I probably had a man in mind when I made it.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Balloon Adventures.  Don’t you love this big sentiment?  I am loving the size of this sentiment and I love it combined with these hot air balloons.

I’ve used Balloon Pop Up Thinlits Die for the centre of my card.  Instead of the balloons that the thinlits cut, I added hot air balloons and clouds from Stampin’ Up!s Lift Me Up. I had to trim down the balloons the thinlit cut just a tad so you wouldn’t see the outline behind my hot air balloon. I had some pieces of Urban Underground DSP sitting on my desk when I made this card, so after trimming them to fit, I added them to my card.

Freshly Made Sketches #263

Hey Everyone

Our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week is Cecile Ribon.  She is not only talented but she also creates fabulous sketches:

I’ve used some new-to-me Stampin’ Up! products on my card.  The stamp set I’ve used is Lift Me Up and I coordinated it with Up and Away Thinlit Dies.  I’ve lightly water coloured the hot air balloons in Pool Party and Calypso Coral.  I love coordinating products – not as much fussy cutting! 🙂 Here’s my card:
