colourQ #250 & Mojo Monday #354

Hey Everyone

You would think with me being on holidays for the last two weeks I would’ve had a chance to make heaps of cards for challenges, but somehow I went into total holiday mode and sat on the couch catching up on TV series and movies.  I got myself out of holiday mode today (my last day of holidays) and made a card for the colour challenge at colourQ and the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.

Just Add Ink #219

Hey Everyone

This week at Just Add Ink we’re asking you to create a project using the following inspiration picture:

I fell in love with the graphic shapes on the cushions. Because I didn’t have Stampin’ Up!s triangle punch, I’ve gone with a diamond shape instead (which is just a square turned on it’s side).  The designer series papers I’ve used is from a Stampin’ Up pack called Kaleidoscope.  Instead of adding my usual flowers, I’ve added a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri and my sentiment is from Petite Pairs.  A bit of gorgeous grunge splotches in the background and my card was done.

Freshly Made Sketches #136

Hey Everyone

The fabulous Amy O’Neill is this weeks sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches.  She’s created this really cool sketch.

I really am on the fence with this card – I wanted to make a boy card, but ran out of time AND ideas when it came time to put together.  I’ve gone with stars and chevrons and used some cool papers from Stampin’ Up!s Kaleidoscope DSP.  I added a bit of background stamping with Gorgeous Grunge in Crushed Curry and stamped my sentiment from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Afterthoughts.

We’d love for you to join us this week, so head over to Freshly Made Sketches and link up a  card.  While you’re there check out the fabulous inspiration from the Clean Team.

Freshly Made Sketches #135

Hey Everyone

Bit excited about this post as it’s my turn to host at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  I love seeing everyone’s interpretation of our sketches.  I do have to tell you though – I’m never fully happy with my sketches as I tend to rush them.  Next time I’m going to get myself more organised and have it completed well ahead of time.

I decided it was time to crack open a never used Stampin’ Up! DSP pack called Kaleidoscope.  As usual I went straight for the papers that appealed to me most, and wouldn’t you know it?  They were the black ones!  To add a little colour I used some Bermuda Bay DSP and coloured my flowers and leaves in Bermuda Bay too so they matched.  The sentiment I’ve used is from a Stampin’ Up! set called Peaceful Petals. Here’s my card:
