Freshly Made Sketches #185

Hey Everyone

Can you believe it’s May already?  This year is flying by! I think it’s almost time to start on Christmas cards.

Our sketch hostess this week at Freshly Made Sketches is Cindy Hall. She is not only an awesome card maker, she’s totally lovely too!  Here’s her sketch:

On Sunday I returned from Stampin’ Up!s 2015 Create Inspire Share Event. I was really hoping to show you lots of new projects with goodies I received, as I have done in the past, but apart from a new stamp set that I probably won’t be inking up, the only other new product we received was a pack of this wonderful new designer series pack called Bohemian DSP .  I really do love the colours in this pack. It has a real aztec-y feel.  I am now waiting patiently (kind of) for my first pre-order to arrive so I can get my hands on more new products!

Just Add Ink #233

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is a sketch challenge.  Tina has designed this fab sketch.

JAI233sketch

When I sat down to create my card I tried a few different images and found that butterflies worked best for the sketch – look at me taking the sketch literally!  The Stampin’ Up! designer series paper I’ve used is called Back to Black.  By chance the DSP I cut for the banner kind of created a film strip effect that I found framed the butterflies perfectly.  The butterflies are from Papillion Potpourri and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.

Cardabilities #104 & colourQ #252

Hey Everyone

I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend – I know I am!  It’s challenge time! The challenges I’m entering my card into today are the sketch challenge at Cardabilities and the colour challenge at colourQ.

I was so tempted to go Christmas with my card but I resisted as I’m not quite in the mode of Christmas card making yet.  Instead I’ve gone with a shabby flowery card.  The Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I’ve used are Dictionary, Everything Eleanor, Summer Silhouettes, Itty Bitty Banners, Gorgeous Grunge & Tape It.  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #137

Hey Everyone

Hopefully this post works as I’ve scheduled it while I’m off galavanting at Stampin’ Up!s Annual Convention.  Even though it’s being held in Melbourne, and would only take me 1/2 hr to drive into the Convention Centre, I’m staying in an apartment with the girls from Just Add Ink so I can have 5 full days and nights of cardmaking talk – I’m gonna be sleep deprived when I get home 🙂

The card I’ve made is for this weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches – our hostess being the fabulous Jen Mitchell.

FMS137sketch

I’ve gone with a quick and simple card today (mainly coz I ran out of time on the weekend with swaps to organise, roomies gifts to make & a card class all day Sunday).  The stamp sets I’ve used are Banner Blast and Itty Bitty Banners and I’ve matched my banners to the colours in this great DSP from Fresh Prints Designer Series Stack.

You’re going to love the cards the Design Team have created this week – head over to Freshly Made Sketches and check them out.  We’d love for you to play along while you’re there.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #209

Hey Everyone

A new Friday means a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week Delys has given us the challenge to:

Just Add Layers

Layers?  I don’t think Delys could’ve picked a challenge that was more suited to me than this one.  My OCD mind thinks layers every time I sit down to create!  I’ve gone with a circle card with lotsa layers and lotsa distressing and of course it’s got flowers and a scrunchy bow.

JAI209

Head over to Just Add Ink and check out the gorgeous and varied cards the design team have created.  I can’t wait to see how you interpret Delys’ layered challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

colourQ #230 & Cardabilities #94

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card tonight that I’ve made for two challenges – colourQ and Cardabilities.  Here are their inspiration pics:

Totally love these colours together and totally love the layout of this sketch – so making this card was really easy.  In fact it was made under 30 minutes (that’s pretty fast for me!).  I was really going to try and stay away from Coastal Cabana for a bit but had to substitute it today as this was the colour I found closest to Cool Caribbean (a colour I don’t have).

Freshly Made Sketches #125

Hey Everyone

Woohoo I’m this weeks hostess at Freshly Made Sketches.  I don’t know why but I always get a bit nervous when it’s my turn.  I kept this sketch as delayered as I could – I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

FMS125sketch

Yes, I know I have an addiction to Coastal Cabana but I just can’t help it.  I have used it quite a bit lately on my cards but to mix things up, I’ve teamed it with Sahara Sand.   I’ve added a couple of banners to my card that aren’t on the sketch, but I really like the look it gave – you know how I like fullness to my cards!  Here’s what I came up with:

Freshly Made Sketches #88

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means it’s another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Jen Mitchell is this weeks hostess and she has designed this fabulous sketch.

FMS88sketch

Jen is so talented and creates cards that I can pick from a mile off – she has the most beautiful clean style that I swoon over.

I love creating flowery cards but lately I’ve been thinking I’ve been overloading you with them. So, I decided to use a neglected Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Hearts A Flutter that has never seen ink.  I’ve teamed this stamp set with some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Nursery Nest.

We’d love for you to join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches, so head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #63

Hey Everyone

It’s the weekend again (yay!) – this is my opportunity to have some crafting time and catch up on challenges! The card I’m sharing with you today is for Rita’s fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  If you’re ever looking for inspiration for a design, head to FMS as they have wonderful sketches every week.

Have you ever seen blue poppies? Me either, but this is what I’ve put on my card today.  I just liked the look of them matching the Comfort Cafe Designer Series Paper!
