Mojo Monday #338 & Merry Monday Challenge #101

Hey Everyone

I’ve been a bit quite around here because I’ve been a tad busy lately.   Let me tell you – I’m missing my stamping time!

The challenges I’m entering my card into are Monday Monday’s sketch challenge and a challenge that I haven’t entered since I left their design team in August last year – Merry Monday.  I really miss the girls on the design team and also miss my regular Chrissy cards.  I’ve lost the hang of how to make a Christmas card so it took me a sec to get started today!

Mojo338sketch

MMC101picI really love these challenge colours together and have decided that my card kinda reminds me of wrapped present with my big gray bow. This ribbon is one I haven’t really used much of, so today was my opportunity to give it a go.  The trees are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Evergreen and the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Freshly Made Sketches #128

Hey Everyone

This week at Freshly Made Sketches the fabulously talented and sweet Rita Wright is our sketch hostess.  Here’s her very versatile sketch:

FMS128sketch

Last week was my chance to make another man card for stash, this week I’ve reverted back to a feminine florally card.  The colour scheme for my card came from some off-cuts that I had sitting on my desk that I played around with until I was happy.  I’m pretty pleased with myself as I’ve managed to combine more than two colours!  The flowers I’ve used are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Simple Stems and the leaves I’ve used (like always) are from Summer Silhouettes.

Dynamic Duos #75 & Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #273

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another post.  This time I’ve combined my card for two challenges – Dynamic Duos where their challenge is to create a card using Tangerine Tango and Basic Black with the option of Halloween.

DD75pic

I’ve used this gorgeous sketch from Create with Connie & Mary for the layout of my card.

CCMC273sketch

I chose not to go with the option of Halloween (as I think I Halloweened myself out with my earlier projects – you can find them here) but I have used some retired Stampin’ Up! Halloween DSP called Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.  I really love this striking striped DSP and am almost at the end of it which is a bit sad.

Stampin’ Royalty #198

Hey Everyone

The Design Team at Stampin’ Royalty have given us the challenge to create Halloween Goodie Packaging.  I’ve never made anything Halloween as it really isn’t that big in Australia.  But as I’m wanting to challenge myself to try new things, I thought I’d give this fun challenge a go.  I buy chocolates and lollies just in case I get a Trick or Treater come to the door, but it never happens.  I end up eating them all after Halloween, just because I don’t want the chockies and lollies to go to waste 😉

I was on a roll with my Halloween Goodies Packaging so instead of one project, I made three.

SR198

Here’s a close up of a vase I had sitting at home. I found pumpkin cover chocolates to fill up the jar (well, almost fill up – I ate a few!)

This little goodie bag is filled with mini chocolate bars.

And to finish off my projects, I created a bag topper made from the Top Note Die.  Since I took this photo my son raided my craft room and has eaten all the cool mints.

Freshly Made Sketches #78

Hey Everyone

Sketches challenges are my favourite! Jen M is this weeks hostess at Freshly Made Sketches and she has created this fabulous sketch.

FMS78sketch

I mentioned on Sunday that I’d made another card using my Elements of Style stamp set, so that’s what I’m sharing with you today. I stamped the image twice, one for the main panel and for the second one I coloured in the flowers with my blender pen and More Mustard Ink, fussy cut them out and raised them up.  Can you tell I like to give my cards dimension?

Here’s my card using Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP again:

Create with Connie & Mary #243

Hey Everyone

It’s Thursday, so that means it time for Create with Connie & Mary Thursday Challenge – this week we have a sketch for you.  I have to say that I adore this sketch and found my card came together so quickly because of it.  A sketch with a main panel is a great way of showcasing those stamps you love.

CCMC243sketch

I love finding different uses for products than what they were intended for.  The Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper I’ve used is from Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP.  I purchased this pack last year in case I decided that I would make something for Halloween (it didn’t happen) so it’s been my mission to make use of it. I love that the Designer Neutrals button I’ve used matches the tones of the my colour scheme!

Here’s what I came up:

Freshly Made Sketches #74 & Stampin’ Royalty #164

Hey Everyone

Allisa is this weeks hostess at Freshly Made Sketches – this is her “go-to” sketch. I was really pleased with how quickly my card came together and it was all because of Allisa’s fabulous sketch!

FMS74sketch

The colours for my card are from this weeks pretty colour combination over at Stampin’ Royalty.

SR164pic

Whenever I see a colour challenge with black it in, I always want to reach for this striking paper from this Stampin’ Up! Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP. As we only get two sheets of it in each pack, I’m finding I only have off-cuts left.  It’s been pretty much the only paper I’ve used out of this pack as Halloween’s not really big in Australia.  I need to find other uses for the left over papers – that’s my next mission!  Anyway, now on to my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #67 & Pals Paper Arts #150

Hey Everyone

It’s an extremely hot day here in Melbourne today so I went out to my room early this morning before it got too hot and my brain fried. I’m loving being on holidays as I can craft during the day.

The card I made this morning is for two challenges – Freshly Made Sketches and Pals Paper Arts.

FMS67sketch

PPA150pic

Melon Mambo isn’t a colour I use very often but teamed with Basic Black and Basic Gray I think it makes for a pretty colour combination for my niece’s birthday card – she’ll be turning 20. For something different I added some brads to the pleated ribbon to give it a studded effect.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #225

Hey Everyone

The design team at Create with Connie & Mary have come up with this interesting but fabulous sketch this week:

I initially started out with three circles on my card but couldn’t work out what image I wanted to stamp on them, so I changed it up and have gone with flowers instead. The spray of flowers isn’t exactly as precise as the three shapes above, but you can kind of see where I was going with it.  Again I’ve use this bold black striped paper from Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP – I love the drama of it!

Thanks for stopping by.
