Just Add Ink #482

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  Our challenge for this week is a sketch challenge. Take a look at this fabulous sketch!

Sketch challenges are the perfect way to start off a card.  They’re my go-to when I’m struggling with a layout. Once I’ve chosen a stamp stamp, I then sit down and work out a colour combination.  For this card I’ve gone with a more traditional festive colour scheme – Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron.

The card I’ve created showcases the Santa from the Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp Set.  I love him and had fun giving him some colour with my blends.  The sentiment on my card is also from this stamp set.  Even though this designer series paper isn’t a traditional Christmas pack, I think this piece from Garden Lane DSP works really well.  The ribbon I’ve added to my tags is so pretty and I find I want to use it on every card at the moment.  This Cherry Cobbler 3/8″ Diagonal Stripe Ribbon is from the Holiday Catalogue.

The team at Just Add Ink have created awesome cards using this sketch.  Head over to Just Add Ink and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #408

Hey Everyone

Are you ready for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches?  The fabulously talented Jennifer Timko is this weeks sketch hostess. Have a look at her cool sketch.

I’ve been playing with my blends a lot lately and used pretty much all of the ones I own for this cute Santa image from Holly Jolly Christmas Stamp Set.  I gave the background some texture with Embossing Paste and Basic Pattern Decorative Masks.  I love the richness of this gorgeous DSP I’ve added to my card – it’s from the Christmastime Is Here Speciality Designer Series Paper. For a bit of foliage in the background I added this die cut from my Beautiful Boughs Dies that I had sitting on my desk.

Come and join us with this challenge.  If you’re looking for inspiration, head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see what the crafty Clean Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
