Mojo Monday #315 & The Paper Players Challenge #167

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing with you today is for two challenges – Mojo Monday and The Paper Players.  I don’t normally get a chance to create during the week, but I had a little bit of time last night to sit down and have a play.  Sometimes cards just come together really easy and last night was one of those times.  I have to say I was really happy with how this card turned out.  Here’s the inspiration pics for the challenges:

I’ve used some retired Stampin’ Up! DSPs on my card – Spice Cake DSP and Comfort Cafe DSP.  The stamp sets I’ve used are Hearts A Flutter and the sentiment is from Express Yourself.

Create with Connie & Mary #262 & Deconstructed Sketch #112

Hey Everyone

The design team at Create with Connie & Mary have a colour challenge that is new to me and luckily I received another Stampin’ Up! delivery today so I was able to join with my new Bermuda Bay ink.

The layout for my card is for the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.  Love the layers on this sketch, so I’ll be using this one again.

I don’t have any Bermuda Bay designer series paper as yet (wish I could order the whole catalogue at once, then I would have so many choices at hand) so I created my own by swiping my ink pad over the de-bossed side of the spotted embossing folder and then ran some Very Vanilla cardstock through my big shot.  The Smoky Slate DSP is from Eastern Elegance and the Basic Black DSP is from Modern Medley.  Here’s what I came up with:

Just Add Ink Challenge #169

Hey Everyone

Delys has found a beautiful photo for this weeks inspiration challenge at Just Add Ink. Have a look at these gorgeous colours in the photo:

JAI169_InspirationPhoto

A few of the girls from the Design Team have gone for very creative backgrounds on their cards, so I decided to give it a go too.  I found this gorgeous card on Pinterest and loved the effect the technique gave to the background.  I took inspiration from the three silhouettes in the photo and added three black banners with a black rolled rose, black buttons and black leaves.  I sponged Midnight Muse and Melon Mambo onto my card, but looking at it now the colours aren’t as vibrant as the inspiration photo.

Anyway, here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #88

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means it’s another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Jen Mitchell is this weeks hostess and she has designed this fabulous sketch.

Jen is so talented and creates cards that I can pick from a mile off – she has the most beautiful clean style that I swoon over.

I love creating flowery cards but lately I’ve been thinking I’ve been overloading you with them. So, I decided to use a neglected Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Hearts A Flutter that has never seen ink.  I’ve teamed this stamp set with some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Nursery Nest.

We’d love for you to join us this week at Freshly Made Sketches, so head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for stopping by.
