Freshly Made Sketches #241

Hey Everyone

My wonderfully talented friend from NZ, Karren Johnson, is this weeks sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches.  She has created this very versatile and very cool sketch for us:

FMS241sketch

It was only as I was taking a photo of my card to upload that I realised I used the same colours last week – oh well, I just love them together!  I initially had just the feathers from a Stampin’s Up! retired set called Four Feathers on my card.  I felt my card was a little naked so I whipped them off and stamped Off the Grid in the background, just to add a little something to all that white. I then added sequins because I’m addicted to them.  I think feathers and a grid stamp are a great combo. Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #216

Hey Everyone

Our sketch is a great one at Freshly Made Sketches – designed by the wonderfully talented Rita Wright. Take a look at her sketch:

FMS216sketch

It’s time for a man card and I thought Rita’s sketch would work well for one. I’ve been on such a Christmas card roll lately that it took me a while to work out how to even start a masculine card.  I really like these colours together – Kraft, Whisper White and Basic Black and I’ve chosen feathers and a button as embellishments.  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #202

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  I just love this sketch that has been designed by my very talented friend Amy O’Neill.

FMS202sketch

Black and white is the colour combo I’ve gone with today. If I’m ever in doubt of which colours to use, I always go back to a reliable combination.

Freshly Made Sketches #184

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday again! Our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week is the very talented Kim Singdahlsen.  Here is her fabulous sketch:

I haven’t used Four Feathers in a while so I inked it up for my card today.  I’ve used Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey combined with a strip of DSP from Stampin’ Up!s Park Lane.

Just Add Ink #249

Hey Everyone

We have a sketch challenge for you at Just Add Ink this week.

JAI249sketch

I had these hexy’s sitting unused on my desk from a challenge that I didn’t get around to enter and decided to put them to the good use on my card.  They’re not normally colours I would reach for but I’m trying combinations outside of my comfort zone.  I think this card would work well for either a female or a man.

Freshly Made Sketches #166

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday again! Every new Wednesday not only means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, but it also means one week closer to Christmas!  It’s scary how quick it has come around.  The very talented Karren is our hostess this week – take a look at her fab sketch

I decided I wanted a bit of something to my background so I inked up Positively Chevron and finger walker it over my white card stock.  I’ve been holding off on using Four Feathers as I really could use it every week – that’s how much I love it!  Here’s my card:

The Paper Players Challenge #215

Hey Everyone

I had a day off work today so I headed out to my craft room to catch up on some design team commitments as well as make a card for this weeks sketch challenge at The Paper Players – take a look at Sandy’s fab sketch:

PPC215sketch

I felt I was overdue to make a man card and thought Sandy’s sketch worked perfectly for one.  Stampin’ Up!s Four Feathers is fast becoming one of my favourite stamp sets.  I’ve stamped the feathers in Mossy Meadow and Soft Suede.  I’ve used a retired stamp set called Off the Grid for the background and the sentiment is from a retired set called Afterthoughts.  My supply of these amazing buttons is slowly dwindling.  I was wondering if it would be rude to ask for the button back after I give the card to the recipient??? Or I might just have to give it to my husband just so I know I’ll get it back!  Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #153

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday so that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Jennifer Brum has created this weeks sketch.  Love how quick this card came together with Jen’s fabulous sketch. Head over to her blog and check out her lovely creations.

FMS153sketch

I really do love a circle on my cards – you probably already know this as I tend to use them on so many of my cards.  I inked up Stampin’ Up!s Four Feathers for the first time in two colours – Basic Black and Strawberry Slush.  I then fussy cut them out and placed them on my circle.  It was then that I decided to add a banner or two because I couldn’t help myself.  I really love how the speckles in these feathers matches the flecks in this paper I’ve used from Confetti Celebration DSP.
