Freshly Made Sketches #311

Hey Everyone

Are you ready for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches?  The design team are and have created gorgeous cards to inspire you.  Our sketch this week has been designed by the talented Jen Brum.  Her cards are beautiful clean cards and her use of colours is always so striking.  Take a look at her fab sketch:

I decided to use the sketch for another Christmas card.  The card I’ve created is a very clean and simple card that I can mass produce, as I’ve done no fussy cutting to slow me down.  The colour scheme I’ve gone with is Berry Burst, Basic Gray and Powder Pink.  I love these colours for the festive season.

Flurry of Wishes is such a pretty set with fabulous snowflakes.  I randomly stamped my snowflakes in Berry Burst and punched a Powder Pink one out with my retired Snowflake punch.  I raised this snowflake up with a dimensional and added pink sequins to the centres of the three snowflakes to add some bling.  The sentiment is also from Flurry of Wishes.

The designer series paper I’ve used in the background is from Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

We would love it if you could join us with this weeks challenge.  Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and link up a card.  While you’re there, take a look at the gorgeous cards from the design team.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Freshly Made Sketches #309

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday and we’ve had a hot one here in Australia! It’s not even Summer yet and I was melting!!!  Think it’s going to be hot Summer……truly not looking forward to it arriving.  I’m a Winter lover!

This weeks sketch at Freshly Made Sketches has been designed by the superbly talented and super funny Linda Callahan.  This one’s a keeper for sure Linda!

Christmas is on my mind at the moment as someone said to me the other day it was less than 70 days until Santa arrives.  I hadn’t thought it was so close!  I’ve took this weeks sketch and created a Chrissy card to add to my stash.

I wanted to go with the following colours for my card:  Black, White, Green and Copper.  I’ve layered my circles with leaves and pinecone from Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.  I added a strip of Striped Ribbon and Copper Trim to my layers and I’ve used Copper Embossing Powder for the sentiment.  The sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Flurry of Wishes.  The DSP circle in the background is from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #302

Hey Everyone

Woohoo! It’s Wednesday and time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch has been designed by the oh-so-talented cardmaker and fab sketch designer – Cecile Ribon!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cool sketch Cecile!  I’ve created another Christmas card because, seriously, who can believe Christmas is just around the corner?  Again I’ve gone with snowflakes in blue and white colours.  I’ve used a combination of snowflake dies for my card.  The smaller white snowflakes are cut with dies from Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies and the large Pool Party snowflake is cut with a die from Starlight Thinlit Dies.  My sentiment is from Flurry of Wishes and the background swirly stamp is from Star of Light.

I then added a strip of Dapper Denim that I created with my Ticket Tear Border Punch to break up the all the Pool Party and Whisper White.  To finish off my card, I went with some Silver Sequins and some Silver Metallic Thread.

The team have created awesome cards to inspire you – head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look!

Freshly Made Sketches #296

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for you.  This weeks our sketch has been designed by the super talented and very hard working Jennifer Timko.  I’m wish I had half the energy of her with her busy life and cardmaking!

I love it when I see a sketch and my card comes together in no time at all.  I needed a no time at all card this week as I was the babysitter for my 1yo and 3yo great nieces on Saturday night.  It’s been a long time since I’ve had little kids needing me overnight.  I adore these girls to bits, and as they are so sweet, I didn’t even mind I only had four hours sleep.  I think I may’ve been “Auntie Ral’d” out by Sunday afternoon though.  Then I had to sit down and create my card.  I thought I was would no inspiration as tired as I was, but I ended up loving my card.  Cheers to all those cardmaking mums with small kids – I don’t know how you do it!

I’m on a Christmas card roll as I’m determined to have my cards written and ready to send early December…..that’s my plan – let’s see if I can do it.  I’ve used Stampin’ Up!s Flurry of Wishes for my card and kept my colour scheme neutral by using Whisper White, Basic Black, Crumb Cake and a strip of retired Pop of Pink Specialty DSP.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #295

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday!  That means it’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches!  I’m this weeks sketch designer and I’ve designed the following sketch for you:

Last year I decided I would try to create my Christmas cards early so I would have enough to give to family and send to friends, but as usual it’s already July and I haven’t made one, until today……

I decided my sketch was going to be the start for my 2017 stash.  Apart from my sentiment, my card is stamp-less – just a whole heap of die cutting using Stampin’ Up! Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies.  I find it relaxing running dies through my big shot.  The sentiment I used is from Flurry of Wishes and the colours I’ve used are – Lemon Lime Twist, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Whisper White.  The strip of DSP I’ve used in the background is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and I added a strip of Gold Ribbon under the sentiment.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #323

Hey Everyone

Tina has suggested this weeks challenge at Just Add Ink. Her challenge for us is to:

Just Add F

This means we want you to create a project with a product or even a few products starting with the letter F.  I’ve used a few F’s on my card – the stamp sets I’ve used are Festival of Trees and Flurry of Wishes and the DSP I’ve used is from Fresh Prints DSP Stack.

Freshly Made Sketches #214

Hey Everyone

I was going to start this post with “it’s only so-many days until Christmas” but then I realised I’m not ready for Christmas yet, so I didn’t bother counting them!

Time for a new sketch challenge.  Our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches is none other than Jennifer Timko.  Her creations are so clean and just plain gorgeous.  Head over to her blog and see for yourself – you will love her works of art.

Here’s her fab sketch:

I found her sketch so easy to work with and I know it’s one that I will be using again.  The snowflakes and sentiment are from Stampin’ Up!s Flurry of Wishes.  This is a pretty clean card for me – just gold sequins, snowflake elements and some gold twine.  The colours I’ve used are Tip Top Taupe and Mint Macaron.  Here’s my card:
