Freshly Made Sketchhes #297

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday again – gee, those Wednesdays come around quick, don’t they?

We have a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our designer this week is the super talented Jen Mitchell.  Jen’s sketch, with the tilted panel, is really cool!

The Stampin’ Up! stamp set I used on my card is called Ribbon of Courage.  This stamp set was designed by Million Dollar Achiever Patty Bennett – how awesome is this set and how awesome is Patty for selling over $1,000,000 of Stampin’ Up! products?  My ribbon, large flower and leaves are all cut with  Support Ribbon Framelits Dies. Matching dies are the best and save my eye sight!   The small pink flower is cut with a flower die from Flourish Thinlits Dies.  The pretty pink designer series paper I’ve used is from Ribbon of Love Designer Series Paper.

The girls at Freshly Made Sketches have made wonderful cards to inspire you, so head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #364

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is an inspiration picture.  I adore this photo – there are so many on trend elements you can use on your project.  I especially love the copper jug.

I tried to carry over as many of the elements from the pic as I could.  I’ve had my Stampin’ Up! Copper Foil Sheets sitting on my desk for a while now and thought this weeks challenge was the perfect time to use them.  Does anyone else not want to use products as you don’t want to waste them?  That’s me with these sheets – even though I know I can buy more…..

For the background of my card I ink up Hardwood with some Smoky Slate Ink and finger-walked the stamp over Whisper White cardstock.  The DSP paper is from a retired pack called Urban Underground Specialty DSP.  I’ve cut this circle with my Circle Framelits. The Whisper White circle is cut with my Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.

The copper sentiment is a cut with a new-to-me die called Happy Birthday Thinlit Die. I know I will be getting a lot of use out of this one!  The leaves are cut with Stylish Stems Framelit Dies (retired) and Flourish Thinlits Dies.  The little yellow flowers are from Garden in Bloom and they are stamped in So Saffron.  I’ve used a strip of Copper Foil and Burlap Ribbon under everything, but you can only see a smidge of them.  I really must learn to cut a small piece for each end, rather than the whole piece…..that way I wouldn’t have to worry about wasting them! 😉

Here’s my card:

The design team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards as always to inspire you. Make sure you pop over to the challenge and take a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #267

Hey Everyone

Wednesday’s mean a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Unbelievably there’s only one more Wednesday after today before Santa comes!  I hope you’re all more ready than what I am!  Our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches is the amazingly talented Jennifer Timko.  I spied some absolutely gorgeous cards on her blog earlier.

I wanted to create a feminine floral card (just to get away from Christmas – even thought I still don’t have enough to send out by next week).  The flowers and the background stamps I’ve used are from Stampin’ Up!s Swirly Bird and the leaves are made with Flourish Thinlit Dies.  The sentiment is one I’ve cut down from Stampin’ Up!s Window Shopping – a set I won when recently attending Stampin’ Up!s On Stage Event.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #331

Hey Everyone

Don’t you hate it when you’re on annual leave and you forget what day it is and you schedule your post for the wrong day?  That’s me.  Here’s my post for this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge.

This week we have a fun challenge for you over at Just Add Ink.  This week our challenge is for you to

Just Add Wings

I LOVE this challenge.  I can’t wait to see what all you very creative people come up with.  I went pretty simple with wings because I don’t have a very big imagination and went with what first jumped into my mind.  Stampin’ Up!s Watercolor Wings is a fabulous set and is really easy to line up the layers on the first go.  I played around with colours to use for the wings and ended up with (in order of stamping) Soft Sky, Pool Party and Basic Black.  The rest of my card came together around those colours.  After my last messy effort of creating black linen thread, I learnt my lesson and this time I wore gloves.

Come and join us with this great challenge. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look at the projects the girls have created for you.
