Just Add Ink #301

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink. Nikki has suggested this fun challenge. Our challenge for you is to:

Just Add Numbers

I found I haven’t been using a lot of DSP on my cards lately.  I’ve been going for cleaner style of card and I’ve been forgoing the layers of DSP I once used.  The stash I have never seems to get smaller.  I chose this retired DSP from Go Wild Designer Series Stack and designed my card around it.  The number was cut using my Large Number Framelits and the “You” was from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set For You.  The word “Celebrate” is from a retired set called Express Yourself. I repeatedly stamped it using a ruler as a guide (trying to get it as straight as possible).

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #256

Hey Everyone

Time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This weeks sketch has been designed by Tina.

JAI256sketch

I really love Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla together but I can never photograph it really well.  I originally had some newsprint rolled roses on my card but when I tried to take a photo of it, they were kind of lost with my neutral colour scheme.I decided to take them off and substitute them with Coastal Cabana rolled roses.  I then tied in a blue butterfly to finish it off.  It was only when I started to write this post did I realise that I put my sentiment in the wrong spot – oops! Here’s my card:

We would love for you to join us this week at Just Add Ink. Take a look at the gorgeous inspiration from the Design Team.

Pals Paper Arts #239 & Cardabilities #116

Hey Everyone

I’ve been out of action again for a couple of days with a migraine and the only day I get craft headache-free and it’s 36 degrees outside!  I really need to get myself a portable air-conditioner for my craft room.

Because I was so hot I only made one card, but I managed to combine it for two challenges – Pals Paper Arts colour challenge and the sketch challenge at Cardabilities.

Cardabilities #88 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #88

Hey Everyone

Instead of doing a bit of Christmas shopping today – I made a couple of cards….. My excuse for not going shopping is that the shops are too busy at the moment (although how would I know if I haven’t been shopping once yet?).  I will make the effort and go sometime during the week.

This card I’ve made is for two challenges – Cardabilities Sketch Challenge and Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge.  Here are their inspiration pics:

The Paper Players #199 & The Challenge #8

Hey Everyone

I’ve doubled up my challenges for my second card tonight – Jaydee’s colour challenge at The Paper Players and Lesley’s sketch challenge from The Challenge. Here are their inspiration pics:

I really love Lesley’s sketch as I felt it really suited my layers that I love to add to pretty much every card I make.  I debated about putting blue leaves on my card but that’s what I ended up with and I have to say – I don’t really mind them!  Here’s my card:

Cardabilities #100 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #82

Hey Everyone

My mum had a birthday on the weekend so to get me inspired to create her card I used the layout from the sketch at Cardabilities and combined it with the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping.  Here are their inspiration pics:

The flap at the top of the sketch gave me the idea to create a pocket so I could stash some money in there as part of her present (just in case she wanted to buy some Stampin’ Up! products!). The flowers I’ve used are from Everything Eleanor and the leaves are from Summer Silhouettes.  I’ve added a bit of washi from Stampin’ Up!s Tape It and the sentiment is from Express Yourself.  The honeycomb background is something I learnt how to create at convention.  Something I’ve never done before is ink up an embossing folder and used it as a stamp.  I love this effect so I know I’ll be doing it again.

2014 South Pacific Stampin’ Up! Annual Convention Swap

Hey Everyone

One of the things I forgot to do before I went to Convention was schedule my post for my Convention Swap.  So every year I say I’m going to plan ahead and makes swaps and every year I run out of time.  All I managed to get done was 10 swaps finished for my fabulous friends from the Just Add Ink Design Team.  I’ve been home from Convention for about 9hrs now and have barely made it off the couch.  We’ve had the best time, but I’m completely buggered – I think it’s going to be an early night for me.

Anyway – here’s my swap.
