Freshly Made Sketches #187

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Cindy Lovell – head over to her blog and check out her wonderful creations.

A quick and easy card that came together in no time! Believe it or not – my row of sequins is actually straight but I think the light they’ve picked up makes them look crooked.  I’ve stamped the splatters from Gorgeous Grunge in Gold Ink and in real life it’s actually quite sparkly. Here’s my card:

Cardabilities #104 & colourQ #252

Hey Everyone

I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend – I know I am!  It’s challenge time! The challenges I’m entering my card into today are the sketch challenge at Cardabilities and the colour challenge at colourQ.

I was so tempted to go Christmas with my card but I resisted as I’m not quite in the mode of Christmas card making yet.  Instead I’ve gone with a shabby flowery card.  The Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I’ve used are Dictionary, Everything Eleanor, Summer Silhouettes, Itty Bitty Banners, Gorgeous Grunge & Tape It.  Here’s my card:

colourQ #250 & Mojo Monday #354

Hey Everyone

You would think with me being on holidays for the last two weeks I would’ve had a chance to make heaps of cards for challenges, but somehow I went into total holiday mode and sat on the couch catching up on TV series and movies.  I got myself out of holiday mode today (my last day of holidays) and made a card for the colour challenge at colourQ and the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.

Freshly Made Sketches #144

Hey Everyone

I’m back!!! It feels like forever since I’ve been into my craft to do anything other than stare at my desk and wonder how long it would take for me to stamp again.  The fracture is healing well so I thought it was time to try and make a card.  I really wanted to have a go at Karren’s great sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, so I ignored my twingy elbow.

FMS144sketch

I was given good advice by my fellow FMS DT member Jennifer to keep my fussy cutting to a minimum so that was what I attempted to do – as you can see, keeping it to a minimum didn’t quite work! I finally put in an order for Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities and this is my first attempt at using them.  I think I should’ve been doing a bit of research on how to use them in while I haven’t been able to create – think I’ll do that as I’m now off work for the next week and a half.

The Deconstructed Sketch #155

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second card today – click here to see my earlier card.  I find by the end of a day crafting, my last card is always a bit of a struggle.  My drained brain just doesn’t work as well by the time I get to my fourth card.  The challenge I’m entering my card into is the sketch challenge at The Deconstructed Sketch.

DS155sketch

Jen’s sketch is fabulous and it’s one I know I’ll be using it again.  I reached for some 2014 Stampin’ Up! SAB DSP called Sweet Sorbet and the flower is from Everything Eleanor. The background stamping I added is from Gorgeous Grunge and I also inked up my Hexagon Embossing folder and pressed it directly onto Whisper White cardstock. I then added the little butterfly from Kindness Matters.

Cardabilities #100 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #82

Hey Everyone

My mum had a birthday on the weekend so to get me inspired to create her card I used the layout from the sketch at Cardabilities and combined it with the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping.  Here are their inspiration pics:

The flap at the top of the sketch gave me the idea to create a pocket so I could stash some money in there as part of her present (just in case she wanted to buy some Stampin’ Up! products!). The flowers I’ve used are from Everything Eleanor and the leaves are from Summer Silhouettes.  I’ve added a bit of washi from Stampin’ Up!s Tape It and the sentiment is from Express Yourself.  The honeycomb background is something I learnt how to create at convention.  Something I’ve never done before is ink up an embossing folder and used it as a stamp.  I love this effect so I know I’ll be doing it again.

Mojo Monday #342 & colourQ Challenge #238

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card – this times it’s for the sketch challenge at Mojo Monday and the colour challenge over at colourQ.  Combining challenges makes cardmaking really easy as all I have to do if find images and sentiments to put on it.  Here are the inspiration pics from the challenges:

The stamp sets I’ve used are all Stampin’ Up! ones – Everything Eleanor, Summer Silhouettes, Dictionary and Petite Pairs.  The designer series paper I’ve used is from a new Stampin’ Up! stack called Fresh Prints – I really love the colours in this stack so you’ll probably be seeing a lot more of in the weeks to come.  Here’s my card:

Pals Paper Arts #200

Hey Everyone

I had a bit of a chance to craft today so I jumped at the chance to play along with Pals Paper Arts 200th Challenge – Happy 200th PPA!  This week Margaret has designed this fab sketch and PPA has also given us a twist – to create a monochromatic card.

PPA200sketch I decided to go monochromatic black before I really thought HOW black it would look when finished.  Not sure how many black flowers and black leaves you see together, but oh well, that’s what I get when I don’t really think things through!  Someone out there will probably like it – if not, then this one’s for you mum (mums have to like everything you do! lol)
