Cardabilities #88

Hey Everyone

I found this weeks Cardabilities sketch really interesting and thought it was a great opportunity for me to use Stampin’ Up!s Santa’s List again before I put it away until next year.

Cardabilities #88sketch

I love the little tab at the top of the main panel as it works so well with my sentiment and  I love all the vintagey background stamping.  This sketch also screamed seam binding bow at me – any chance for me to use a scrunchy seam binding bow and I’ll slap one on!  The designer series paper I’ve used is from a Stampin’ Up! pack called Etcetera. It’s not a Christmas pack, but I think the green stripe looks Christmasy. Here’s my card:

Inspired by Stamping Challenge #67 & Mojo Monday #319

Hey Everyone

Woohoo it’s Saturday!   After a quick whip around of the house I sat down to check out some challenges.  The card I’m sharing today is for two challenges – Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge and this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.

I’ve gone a little bit shabby with this card, because that’s the first thing that came to mind when I saw the challenge colours.  I still pause when I have to use blue and green as I have the old saying going on in my head “blue and green should never been seen without a colour in between”.  So to put my mind at rest, I’ve used Sahara Sand as my in between colour.  I absolutely LOVE Julee’s sketch at Mojo as it works so well with my layers.  I’m entering my card also into Inspired by Staming’s customer gallery as I have used Elegant Flowers and Fancy Sentiments.  Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #191

Hey Everyone

Delys has a wonderful sketch for us to create our projects this week at Just Add Ink – I love the circles in this sketch and knew that I wanted to go a little bit shabby for my card.

JAI191sketch

In an effort to use up my loads of DSP, I found I haven’t used Etcetera in ages and I haven’t combined these lovely papers before.  I think the blue in the houndstooth and also in the background DSP is Soft Sky (you would think that as a SU demo I should know this, but I have a shocking memory and I’m too lazy and go and find my catalogue to check!).  Anyway, that’s the colour that I’ve stamped my tickets from Stampin’ Up!s That’s the Ticket.  I’ve left this card sentimentless as sometimes I like to have a blank card in my stash for any occasion.

Merry Monday Challenge #69

Hey Everyone

Lesley’s back from her July break so we’re back to sketch challenges at Merry Monday.  Here’s her fabulous sketch this week:

MMC69sketch

I’ve gone with non-traditional papers for my card today and used some papers from Stampin’ Up!s Etcetera DSP. I’ve teamed them with Midnight Muse cardstock and used retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets called Jolly Bingo Bits and Merry and Type.

We’d love for you to join us in this weeks Christmas card challenge, so head over to Lesley’s blog and join in the Christmas card fun.

Freshly Made Sketches #94

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday! Linda is our hostess this week and has designed this fabulous sketch for us at Freshly Made Sketches.

FMS94sketch

I found this sketch really interesting and think it’s a perfect one to show off your DSPs.  The spotted designer series paper I’ve used is from Etcetera, a DSP pack that I consider to be quite vintagey, but I think it works for a cleaner card too.  I’ve done a bit of fussy cutting  (as usual!) and cut out the leaves and flower from Fabulous Florets.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #257

Hey Everyone

I’m back with another card today and you’ll probably find it’s different than what I normally come up with. Especially because I’ve used a Stampin! Up! Easter stamp set called Everybunny.  You’re probably going to think that I’m a little crazy getting in this early for Easter, but I decided to use this set for a birthday card.  I love the cuteness of this little bunny and thought it would work well for a little girls card!

The sketch at Create with Connie & Mary is a great one and I’ve used this for my birthday card.

Just Add Ink #167

Hey Everyone

The challenge for us at Just Add Ink this week is to:

Just Add…….. Fabric

Tina is our hostess this week and has come up with what I considered to be one of the trickiest (is that a word?) challenges I’ve come across.  I’m not sure if it was because I attempted this challenge straight after convention when I was extremely tired or because I have no idea how to use fabric on a card – I think I may’ve over-thought this challenge somewhat…

I was lucky enough to win some goodies from the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue at Convention (not long now until we get to order from the catalogue!). I’ve used some designer series paper from my prize patrol win called Etcetera DSP.  I was probably a little excited to win but I think I managed to contain my excitement so my fellow Just Add Ink DT members wouldn’t think I was gloating. Who am I kidding?  I was beyond excited – if you’d seen me, you would’ve thought I’d just won a car!  Back to my card though, I was originally going to use canvas creations on my card, but as I made a complete mess of it, I’ve gone with a hand-cut hessian/burlap heart instead.  To add some further fabric I’ve used some Crumb Cake Tulle and added some Vanilla Flower Trim. Here’s my card:
