Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #249

Hey Everyone

The Design Team at Create with Connie & Mary have given us a fabulous sketch this week – one that appealed to my over-layered style!

CCMC249sketch

With our Australian Stampin’ Up! catalogue changing soon, I’ve been taking a look at what stamp sets I do and don’t use anymore.  Established Elegance was in the “don’t use” pile but seeing as it was one of my favourite stamp sets, I don’t think I can part with it. I decided I wanted to use it on my card today as I’ve been going overboard on flowery cards.

Here’s my card:

Mojo Monday #269

Hey Everyone

Mojo Monday has a fabulous challenge this week – to create either a round or square card with the following sketches:

I decided to go square (mainly because this was quicker to whip up than the round one!). Lazy of me, I know, but I’ve got work in the morning.  I’ve gone with a vintage card and dragged out Stampin’ Up!s Artistic Etchings and Established Elegance which have been neglected of late. Here’s what I came up with:

I’ve used Fan Fair Designer Series Paper as I think the papers in this pack are gorgeously vintagey.  I wouldn’t even have noticed this pack if it wasn’t for my good stamping friend LeAnne – she’s my enabler 🙂  She demonstrates how good they can look and I buy! It’s kind of like the movie Field of Dreams where they say “Build it and they will Come”.  Instead with me it’s “Demonstrate it and I will Buy”!  I’m a sucker for good products!

CASE Study 2nd Anniversary Challenge

Hey Everyone

I haven’t had much of a chance to play along with CASE Study for a few weeks, but as soon as I saw their challenge this week for their 2nd Anniversary (well done on the 2 years girls!) I knew this challenge was right up my alley – it’s to design a project with your signature style.  Of course I’ve gone vintage – with lots of distressing and lots of  sponging. I attended Melbourne’s Heartfelt Stampin’ Event a couple of days ago and made this card in my signature style but haven’t been able to post it until today. I wanted my sentiment to match the whole Heartfelt theme but as I didn’t have a stamp that said Heartfelt, I printed one out from my computer.

The girls have all got together and organised a blog hop – head over to their challenge blog and check it out by clicking here – you’ll be totally inspired by all the creativity goin’ on.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stampin’ Royalty #143 – Buttons!

Hey Everyone

It’s a cold and wet weekend (again) in Melbourne so I’ve taken advantage of this and have created a card for this weeks Stampin’ Royalty Challenge where they’ve given us the challenge of creating a project with Buttons on it.  I initially thought I’d make a card that had loads of buttons, but then decided to go with only one button and combine it with a stamp from the retired Stampin’ Up set called Sew Suite that has the word buttons on it.

Here’s what I came up with:

Vintage Grid Cards

Hey Everyone

You might remember I made this card for a Mojo Monday Challenge a little while ago.

As you know I’m into everything vintage  – I think it must be my mum’s influence (she’s a bit vintage herself! – just kidding mum – love you!).  My stamp girls requested we make this card at a recent workshop.  Half the girls requested vintage and half requested a brighter combination of colours.  I chose Perfect Plum and Certainly Celery for the brighter colours and I thought I’d share this card with you tonight.

Even though I like this card – I’m still loving the vintage card better. Which one do you like?

Paper Players Challenge #103

Hey Everyone

Check out the colour combination Anne Marie has come up with this week over at The Paper Players!

These colours are so pretty and soft together, aren’t they? I might have to use them again – thanks for the inspiration Anne Marie!  My layout for my card was inspired by an old Pals Paper Parts sketch and then as I normally do – I changed it up a bit.  I’m hanging out for our new Stampin’ Up! catalogue so I can buy myself some new flowery sets.  Until it comes I’ve decided I’m going to revisit some old stamp sets that have been neglected in my cupboard.  Upsy Daisy is one of those stamp sets that hasn’t stayed on my desk (where my favourites live).  I  don’t think I’ve used it much at all over the last 2 years.

Thanks for stopping by.

The Paper Players #101 & Dynamic Duos #8

Hey Everyone

I’ve had a couple of days of feeling unwell, so I haven’t been able to post this card until today.  I think this cold weather we’re having is getting to me!  I’ve made this card for two challenges – The Paper Players where Lesley has come up with the following great sketch:

And the Dynamic Duos colour challenge where this week the challenge is to use the following colours:

I have to say – I have never combined these colours together before, but I found I really like them and will probably use them again. Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #113

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday again, so that means a new Just Add Ink challenge.  This week we were given the following inspiration pic by Jodene to create our projects.

So every now and then I get a stamp set that has a stamp in it that I don’t always use.  I challenged myself this week to use the typewriter from Established Elegance as it’s one I never know how to make work on a card.  I’ve teamed it with the Everyday Enchantment DSP from this years Sale-A-Bration. Here’s what I came up with:

Mojo Monday #231

Hey Everyone

I had a bit of time to craft tonight so I was able to make my card to enter into this weeks Mojo Monday Challenge a bit earlier than usual.  I had no idea where I was going when I started this card but I ended up “going vintage” because I really do love this style.

Here’s my card:
