Dynamic Duos #15 & Freshly Made Sketches #47

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing with you today is for two challenges (and they would have to be two of my favourite challenges!).

This week at Dynamic Duos the colour challenge is to use the following subtle colours – Certainly Celery and Pretty In Pink.

And I really liked Jennifer’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, so my card is designed from this sketch:

Freshly Made Sketches #38

Hey Everyone

Stampin’ Up! in Australia recently had a special that if you purchased three packs of DSP you received a fourth one free.  I’m a sucker for a special so I took advantage of this offer. One of the packs I got was Pocketful of Posies, one that I’d never even taken notice of before.  I decided to open it today and found I really love a lot of the papers in there!  I found this great sketch by Linda at Freshly Made Sketches and christened my new DSP.

I used an old favourite stamp set that is now retired – Echoes of Kindness.  I stamped the flower and then cut it out.  I then stamped it a second time and coloured in every 2nd petal.  I then cut out the coloured ones and raised them up – not sure if you can see the raised petals in the photo but it looks really effective in real life.  Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

CASE Study 42

Hi Everyone

This months muse at CASE Study Challenge is Jill Foster. This is her gorgeous card that we got to CASE.  I love the clean lines and the colours she’s used.

If you’ve been past by blog before you might see that I usually layer until I can’t layer anymore.  I had to hold myself back from layering so it would look more like Jill’s card!  I’m also proud of myself as I’ve used my heat embossing tool for the very first time – (you can’t really see that I’ve used it on the flourish and the phrase).  I’ve had the heat embossing tool for almost 2 years but never taken it out.  My mum has been the only one to use it and she had recently threatened to take it home if I didn’t use it!  Here’s my card for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

SUO Challenge 17

Hi Everyone

I found a new challenge to enter!  I stumbled (well, clicked) across the SUO Challenge from someone’s site – now I can’t remember whose site it was.  Their challenge this week is to create a Mother’s Day card.  I’ve used Basic Black, Very Vanilla & Wild Wasabi.  I ran the Wasabi through the big shot in the vintage wallpaper embossing folder to give it a “bit of something” and then added striped grosgrain ribbon to top it off.

Thanks for stopping by!

See ya
