Just Add Ink #403

Hey Everyone

Happy Friday everyone! We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week is a colour challenge.  Take a look at our colours below:

Ok, not gonna lie.  When I saw these colours, I had absolutely NO idea how I was going to combine them!  I soon got over myself and came up with a card that I have to say……I love!

I’ve used Petal Palette again (because it’s my favourite) and mainly because it works with any colours!  I wasn’t sure if Bermuda Bay would work for the leaves, but used lightly, I think it almost passed for a green.  I was able to add gold to my card with thread, sequins and a sentiment.  The Fresh Fig DSP is from Eastern Palace Specialty DSP.

The team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards that are all so very different. Head over to the challenge and take a look.  We would love it if you could play along.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Freshly Made Sketches #326

Hey Everyone

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I truly love Wednesday’s as it means I can share a new card for you on my blog.  The card I’m sharing is for the newest sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our fabulous sketch this week has been designed by Jennifer Timko.  Have you been over to her blog lately?  You should, as she creates the most wonderful clean cards.

I just can’t help myself…….I love creating flowery creations.  I enjoy arranging and colouring them as I find it relaxing and could spend hours doing it.  The flowers I’ve used are from Stampin’ Up!s Amazing You.  The leaves I’ve stamped and fussy cut are from a set called Petal Palette.  I find fussy cutting just as relaxing as colouring.

The sentiments I’ve used are all from Amazing You stamp set as well.  My “celebrate” sentiment has been embossed with White Embossing Powder on Basic Black cardstock and the words “amazing you” have been stamped directly to the card base.

The strip of Lemon Lime Twist DSP is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I found this strip on my desk left over from another project – I knew it would come in handy one day.

Here’s my card:

The whole team have created such gorgeous cards. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and see for yourself -they’re going to amaze you!

Freshly Made Sketches #315

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches for you.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Amy O’Neill.  Take a look at her fab sketch:

So when you’re craft room is too hot to spend a lot of time being creative in, you go with a clean and simple card with as little stamping as possible.  I might be the only Melbournian wishing for Winter to arrive soon…..

My only stamping comes in the form of a sentiment from Holly Berry Happiness.   I added a thin strip of Basic Black cardstock that was edged with my Ticket Tear Border Punch.  I then cut various snowflakes from Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies.  To add a little bling to my card, I added little black sequins to the centre of each snowflake.  The stitched oval on my card is cut with my Stitched Framelits Dies.  I LOVE Lemon Lime Twist for Christmas – so the DSP I used in the background is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and then I added some Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and tied a knot.

The Clean Team have created gorgeous cards to inspire you.  Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and get ready be to wowed.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #305

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks fabulous sketch has been designed by Amy O’Neill – Queen of combining colours and creating scenes.

I really fell in love with this sketch and had heaps of ideas running through my head.  To mix up my cards, I decided to stay away from a floral card (even though I was itching to create one!) and made a card using Lift Me Up for a friend.  The hot air balloons are stamped in Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black.  I then cut them with my matching Up and Away Thinlits Dies.  Dies are so easy to use and cut the images in no time!

I used a strip of Lemon Lime Twist DSP behind the balloons.  This DSP is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The ink splatters in the background are from Swirly Bird and are stamped in Basic Black Ink.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Lovely Words Thinlits Dies.  The dies in this set are surrounded with an oval frame that also cuts with the sentiment, but I have trimmed it off my sentiment for my card. I then added some Black Bakers Twine, some sequins and some little white clouds to finish off my card.

As always, the Clean Team have designed gorgeous cards to inspire you – so pop over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look at their wonderful cards.

Freshly Made Sketches #291

Hey Everyone

Jen Brum is our sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  Jen’s sketch is really cool and my card come together in no-time.  Jen’s cards are so elegant and striking – you’ll want to head over to her blog and check them out.

I’m big on Lemon Lime Twist at the moment. I don’t think I’ve been addicted to a colour as much this one in a while.  The Lemon Lime Twist DSP I’ve used is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and the fabulous sentiment is from Big on Birthdays.  The “Hooray” balloon sentiment is from Happy Birthday Gorgeous and I’ve punched it out with my balloon punch.  The Peekaboo Peach balloon is crimped with my retired Stampin’ Up! Crimping Tool.  The circles I’ve stamped in the background are from Eastern Beauty, a stamp set that I’m finding is really versatile. I love finding new ways to show off stamp sets.

Here’s my card:

As always the Clean Team have created gorgeous cards to inspire you.  Pop on over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.  We would love it if you could join in with Jen’s sketch this week.

Freshly Made Sketches #289

Hey Everyone

Happy Wednesday! Love Wednesdays as it means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by Linda Callahan. I adore every one of Linda’s cards as she’s so creative and so very talented!

I was overdue for a masculine card.  The stamp sets I’ve used for my card are Feather Together and Big on Birthdays.  These feathers are just fabulous!  I’ve stamped them in Soft Sky and Dapper Denim.  The circles under my feathers are from Stampin’ Up!s Eastern Beauty and the watersplash type stamp is from Gorgeous Grunge – I’m going to miss this set!  The designer series paper is from Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper and I’ve tied everyone together with some linen thread and a strip of Burlap Ribbon under my sentiment. I really need to push myself and make more masculine cards as it’s surprising how many requests I get for them!

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #358

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This weeks challenge is for you to:

Not gonna lie. I had no clue what I was going to do with this challenge.  I can’t sew for the life of me.  I buy a pair of jeans on special for $15 and then pay $22 to get them taken up. Not much of a special when I pay so much to alter them…… In the end I got confirmation from the girls that I could use my Stampin’ Up! Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies.  The challenge wasn’t as hard as I thought!

Not sure if I’ve seen blue flowers like these before but I wanted my flowers to match my designer series paper.  The stamp set I’ve used is called Garden in Bloom.  I stamped them in Basic Black Ink and then used Dapper Denim and Hello Honey to give them colour.  The leaves are coloured with Lemon Lime Twist – a colour that I already love!  The sentiment I’ve used is from Dragonfly Dreams.

The Design Team have created gorgeous cards to inspire you. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look. We would love it if you could play along with us.

Thanks for stopping by.
