Cardabilities #104 & colourQ #252

Hey Everyone

I hope you’re having a fabulous weekend – I know I am!  It’s challenge time! The challenges I’m entering my card into today are the sketch challenge at Cardabilities and the colour challenge at colourQ.

I was so tempted to go Christmas with my card but I resisted as I’m not quite in the mode of Christmas card making yet.  Instead I’ve gone with a shabby flowery card.  The Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I’ve used are Dictionary, Everything Eleanor, Summer Silhouettes, Itty Bitty Banners, Gorgeous Grunge & Tape It.  Here’s my card:

Card In a Box Class

Hey Everyone

I’ve been a bit quiet here for a about a week now as I have just attended Stampin’ Up!s South Pacific Annual Convention.  I’ve had a total ball and am completely beside myself because I’m soooooo tired.  I’m in desperate need of a sleep in.

The projects I’m sharing today are from a class that I held just before I came to convention.  My class girls requested a card in a box – hmmmmm.  I am yet to make one mainly because I’m not a fan of 3D stuff but succumbed because they really wanted it.  Here’s the link to the youtube video I followed to get the measurements for my card.  We also made a matching gift bag that we created out of an envelope.

Here’s a close up of the card in a box.

This is a photo of the card when it’s close flat.  I played with this for ages to try and get it as pretty closed as what it is when it’s opened.

And finally, one of the gift bag.

Dynamic Duos #61

Hey Everyone

The Design Team at Dynamic Duos have a very pretty colour challenge this week:

DD61pic

I made this card a little while ago and haven’t had a chance to post it until today until I saw the colour challenge matched the colours on my card.  I’ve made some rolled roses by cutting some scallop circles and cutting into them round and round until I hit the centre.  I then gave them a bit of colour by daubing them with Pink Pirouette ink, rolled them and then stuck them together with crystal effects.  I added some leave from the Little Leaves Die and finely cut some Sahara Sand cardstock to finish of the appearance of the bouquet of flowers.

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #36

Hey Everyone

The Design Team at Inspired by Stamping have given us this great sketch to create our projects this week:

I’ve flipped the sketch on it’s side as it worked better for my layout.  The pink designer series paper that I’ve used is from a Stampin’ Up! one called Fan Fair and the newsprint paper is from a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Newsprint (I guess that was appropriately named!). I’m really liking the colour combo – Crumb Cake (or Kraft my non-Stampin’ Up! followers), Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla,  so this is what I’ve gone with.

Thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Newsprint DSP (retired), Fan Fair DSP
Ink: Crumb Cake Marker, Pink Pirouette Marker, Crumb Cake Ink
Stamp Sets: Because I Care (retired), Occasional Quotes (retired), French Foliage
Other Products: Window Framelits, Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Button, Hemp Twine (retired)

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #227

Hey Everyone

I’ve been holding onto some news for over a week now – the Design Team at Create with Connie & Mary have asked me to join their team until the end of March!!! How exciting is that?  I’ve been playing along with their challenges for over a year now, so this is a big thrill for me.

This weeks challenge is to create a shaped card – it can be any shape – as well as using the following sketch:

I’ve had these window framelits sitting unused on my desk so this was a perfect opportunity to break them open and give them a run.  As usual I’ve gone with a feminine florally card, but this time I’ve made my own blossom (well, that’s what I’m calling it).

I’ve also made my card into an easel card which meant I had to decorate the inside.  I don’t always decorate the insides of my card when I first make them. I tend to leave it until the last minute, before I give away the card, which means a lot rushing around trying to finish them off.

We’d love for you to join us at Create with Connie & Mary this week – head over to the blog and check out the gorgeous inspiration the Design Team have created.

Thanks for taking a look.

Mojo Monday #264 & Just Add Ink #141

Hey Everyone

I’m combining challenges for my card tonight.  I love the sketch Teresa has designed at Mojo Monday this week and Kathy has given us this gorgeous colour combination over at Just Add Ink.  I really wanted to get myself into gear and enter my card with the design team when it went live this morning, but I got busy and it just didn’t happen. So now I’m playing along just for fun.

Freshly Made Sketches #51 & Stampin’ Royalty #140

Hey Everyone

I’ve probably never used these gorgeous colours together from this weeks challenge at Stampin’ Royalty – but I’m really loving them and will definitely use them again

I’ve combined challenges again and this time I’ve used Cindy’s sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for the layout for my card.  I’ve flipped the sketch on it’s side as it worked better for my images.  I was sooooo hanging to use my dauber and dirty my card up, but then I remembered Freshly Made Sketches are a clean challenge, so I held back 😉

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #23 & Stamping 411 #270

Hey Everyone

When I saw this weeks challenge at Inspired by Stamping I remembered a DSP that looked similar to the pattern on the tub in the inspiration picture.  I can’t remember what it was called (possibly Bella Rose?) but I got it when I joined Stampin’ Up! over 3 years ago and haven’t used it until now.  See Christine, hoarding is a good thing – if I didn’t hoard I wouldn’t have this DSP for this challenge! Here’s the inspiration pic from Inspired by Stamping – can you see the similarity between the tub and my DSP?

And I’ve also combined this with the sketch challenge at Stamping 411.  Don’t you love a sketch challenge? – most of the work is already done for me!

Merry Monday Challenge #27

Hey Everyone

Lesley’s back from her month long blogging break (hope you had a wonderful holiday Lesley) and has provided us with the following sketch at Merry Monday this week:

I attended our Heartfelt Stampin’ Event on Saturday and then realised when I got home that I hadn’t completed this card for the challenge.  This would be the fastest card I’ve made in ages. I’ve gone monochromatic (surprise, surprise!) for my card because they were the colours I had on my desk. Back to the Heartfelt Stampin’ Event – I had a fantastic time and finally got to meet some of my fellow Just Add Ink DT members – Tina, Christine & Jo. Thanks girls for taking me in and allowing me to hang with you all!

Here’s my card:

I hope you have time to check out this weeks challenge and the gorgeous project from the Merry Makers by clicking here – and hopefully you’ll have time to join in.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #127 & Reason to Smile for Mojo Monday #250

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday so that means a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week our challenge is to use the following colour palette to create our cards:

So as you’ve probably guessed I’m a huge lover of neutrals so when I saw the challenge was to use Basic Black, Whisper White and one other colour of my choice- I went straight to Crumb Cake as my other colour.  I’ve used the following fabulous sketch from Mojo Monday for my card:

This week I broke out my previously unused Reason to Smile stamp set for the first time. I’ve been holding on to this gorgeous flocked DSP from Stampin’ Up!s Mocha Morning DSP, but decided now was the time to use it.

Thanks for stopping by.
