Just Add Ink #384

Hey Everyone

Happy Friday!  I know I’m going to enjoy it as I have a 5 day weekend!!! Doesn’t happen very often and it’s all because of a horse race……that I have absolutely no interest in.  But I’ll take a long weekend for it!

We have a new challenge at Just Add Ink for you.  This week is inspiration picture week.  Take a look at the colours in this photo:

My colours aren’t quite as vibrant but as you can see I’ve created flowers in similar colours.  The flowers I’ve watercoloured are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Garden in Bloom.  I’ve given them some colour with Pool Party and So Saffron Inks. I then lightly coloured the leave with very watered down Pool Party.  The sentiment I’ve used on my card is one that I love for the pretty font.  It’s from a set called Colorful Seasons.

Do you find you put extra time and thought into cards for someone you care about?  Especially if they’re cardmaker like you?  I did with this one as it’s going to a friend with love.

The design team have created gorgeous cards with the inspiration pic.  Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.  We would love it if you could play along with us this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Freshly Made Sketches #306

Hey Everyone

Time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our sketch hostess is the fabulously talented Jen Mitchell.  Jen is not only an amazing cardmaker but she also designs wonderful sketches – I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it.

Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper is one of my favs at the moment.  I almost reach for it every time I go to create a card.  I couldn’t go past it this time as I knew that I wanted to use these gorgeous flowers from Graceful Garden again that I had already stamped, watercoloured with Powder Pink and Flirty Flamingo Ink, fussy cut and had just found laying on my desk.  I consider using them on my card as partly cleaning up my mess of a desk. Imagine how much messier it would’ve been if I had left them on my desk…….

The leaves were also found laying on my desk.  These leaves are from a Stampin’ Up! set called Remarkable You and are watercoloured with Old Olive Ink.  I really like the size of these leaves paired with the roses.  They also look like they belong together.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Colorful Seasons and is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink.

Here’s my card:

We would love it if you could join us for this weeks challenge. Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look at the wonderful inspiration the design team have provided.

Just Add Ink #376

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you at Just Add Ink.  This weeks challenge is for you to:

So many possibilities with this challenge!  I chose to create a card using a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Daisy Delight.  My daisies are stamped in Black Archival Ink and watercoloured with Hello Honey Ink.  The daisies are punched with my Daisy Punch. I’ve used a Faceted Gem Embellisment for the centre of my daisy and my leaves and branch are cut with Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies.  I had two little leaves coloured and sitting on my desk that I had coloured for another project and never used.  If you look closely you should be able to see them!

I then used my Pattern Party Decorative Mask and Embossing Paste to create a brick background – really just to add a little bit of interest to the background.  The designer series paper I’ve used in the background is from Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack.  I think Lemon Lime Twist may’ve taken over from my previous favourite green – Pear Pizzazz.  I then stamped the “Thinking of You” sentiment from Colorful Seasons.

Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #304

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  It’s my turn to be sketch designer and I’ve created a simple sketch for you that you can interpret anyway.  As always, I look forward to see your cards in the gallery.

We are currently renovating our tea room in the Emergency Department I work in and have created a feature wall with cherry blossoms on it.  I was really taken with the prettiness of the feature wall, so I decided to create a cherry blossom card with the flowers from Colorful Season stamp set.  I’ve also used the matching dies from Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies to cut my leaves and branch.  The flowers are stamped in Berry Burst and I’ve used my Berry Burst marker to add crease lines to my flowers.

The strip of designer series paper I’ve used is from Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  To break up the sentiment from the background I added strips of Basic Black Cardstock that I cut with my Ticket Tear Border Punch.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Big on Birthdays.  I then added some black sequins to finish off my card.

You’re going to want to see the gorgeous cards the design team at Freshly Made Sketches have created.  Pop over to the challenge and get ready to be inspired.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #374

Hey Everyone

We have a new challenge for you at Just Add Ink.  This week is inspiration picture week.  Take a look at this fabulous pic. So many possibilities with this one.  I can’t wait to see your take on this challenge!

As a huge coffee lover, you’d think I’d go with a coffee themed card, but instead I chose to make a card with the neutral colours from the pic.

Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies has so many wonderful dies in the set.  I’ve used a combination of leaves and chair die and layered them with some Burlap Ribbon and Copper Trim.  I also stamped the tiny flowers from Colorful Seasons stamp set and fussy cut them just for extra layering.  The sentiment is also from this set.  I am loving everything about this set – especially the pretty font in all the sentiments.

For the background, I’ve sponged Crumb Cake Ink and added the ink splatters stamp from Swirly Bird in Early Espresso Ink.  To tie in with my neutral toned card, I then finished off my card with some copper sequins.

The design team have created wonderful cards to inspire you.  I love that we all create such different cards using the same picture.  Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #372

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week is a colour challenge. Take a look at these pretty colours.

I’ve gone with a clean card today letting the colours pop off the white background.  The flowers I’ve used are from Happy Birthday Gorgeous.  They’re stamped in Powder Pink and Pool Party.  To add Tranquil Tide, I placed a strip of card stock under my panels.   I also added a strip of Pool Party to tie everything together.

The sentiment I’ve used is from Colorful Seasons.  I stamped this in Basic Black Ink and the flourish-y outline stamp in Pool Party, from Label Me Pretty, and then used the matching Pretty Label Punch to punch my label out.  The ink splatters in the background are Swirly Bird – these are from Swirly Bird.

Here’s my card:

CAS(E) This Sketch #232

Hey Everyone

I’ve had a weekend of play in my craft room – woohoo!  I managed to get in front with my design team cards for the next couple of weeks and then I had time to play along with another challenge.

The card I’ve made is for this great sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.

By now you may’ve noticed a love a flower stamp set……haha – as if you didn’t know that!  I knew Graceful Garden was a must-have in my first Stampin’ Up! order from the new catalogue.  I used my Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencil to colour in the petals and then my matching Calypso Coral Marker to give the petals definition.  These rose stamps have leaves and a stem attached to them, but I trimmed the leaves off the images once I coloured them and placed them under the roses.  The leaves are lightly watercoloured with Old Olive Ink.

The strip of designer series paper is from Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack.  There are so many pretty papers in this stack that I can’t stop using!  The sequins are copper (even though they make not look it in my photo) and I’ve paired them with some Copper Trim under my sentiment.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Colorful Seasons – the font in this set really appeals to me.

Here’s my card:
