Freshly Made Sketches #432

Hey Everyone

There’s a new sketch to play along with at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our fab sketch has been designed by Jennifer Timko, one of our talented coordinators of our challenges.  She makes the most gorgeous cards, pop over to her blog by clicking here.

I’ve made another man card!!!  I am definitely on a roll with masculine cards – hoping I have enough golfers to give these cards to!  The products I’ve used on my card are from the Clubhouse Suite.  The golf ball image is from the Clubhouse Stamp Set. I stamped this image with Black Memento Ink and added some colour to the grass with my Mint Macaron Blends.  The wooden elements I’ve added to my card are from the Country Club Elements.  These really are the perfect elements to mix with golfing images.  One of the other things that I like adding to my golfing cards is the die cut tree from the Majestic Mountain Dies.  The strip of DSP I’ve added to the background is from the Country Club Designer Series Paper.  I’m going through a watercoloured background phase also – this time I added some colour with some Call Me Clover Ink.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards using Jennifer’s sketch. Head over to the challenge and see what they’ve created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Artisan Design Team – Country Club Suite & Mountain Air Bundle Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Welcome to April already and welcome to the latest Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team blog hop.  This month the team have created projects showcasing products from the Country Club Suite and the Mountain Air Bundle. I’ve made two cards this month – both with the fabulous argyle print DSP from Country Club Designer Series Paper.

Masculine cards don’t come to me as easy as feminine cards,  However, I was surprised to find that it didn’t take too long at all to come up with these cards. Must’ve been the great products I was working with! 🙂

My first card was made mostly with goodies from the Country Club Suite.  I wanted to show off the wooden elements from the Country Club Elements pack. Even though I wanted to use them all, I only went with two so as to not overload the card. I used the golf club and the argyle type edgelit in my layering.  The two Smoky Slate Cardstock trees have been cut with the Majestic Mountain Dies. The golf ball image has been stamped in Black Memento Ink and coloured with my Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush – the photo doesn’t show how glittery the ball is though….. I added a little bit of colour to the grass with my Call Me Clover Blends. Basic Black Twine, from the Country Twine Combo Pack, was roughed up on the ends and layered under the sentiment – the sentiment is also from the Clubhouse Stamp Set. All of my layering is attached to a Whisper White Cardstock die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels Dies.

When it came time for a second card, I reached for the argyle print DSP again so that it tied in with my first card. I’d planned to run a class with these cards and by keeping the products the same, I won’t have to carry too items along – hopefully I’ll be seeing my class girls together again soon to run this class…..

I also wanted to demonstrate a different style of folded card.  This card opens under the label dies where the Basic Black Cardstock meets the Whisper White Cardstock. The card edges are held together with the tip of the WW die cut and the Basic Black Twine.  I punched two holes on the Smoky Slate Cardstock die with the Label Me Fancy Punch and threaded the Basic Black Twine through them and adhered it to the right side of the card.  The WW die cut has been stamped with the trio of birds stamp from the Mountain Air Stamp Set and adhered to the left side of the card.

Another way I matched this card to the first card was by using the same tree die cuts from the Majestic Mountain Dies. This time I cut them out of Bermuda Bay Cardstock.  The sentiment I’ve adhered to this card is from the Golfhouse Stamp Set.

As you can see, the card opens under the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. It’s a really easy fold and the card is held closed by the die cut and knotted twine.

The inside of my card was decorated with a strip of the DSP, a sentiment and the birds from the Clubhouse Stamp Set.  I always keep off cut strips of DSP just to decorate the inside to coordinate with the card front.

I hope you like the projects I’ve created. Make sure you check out the whole hop and see all the gorgeousness the team have created.  The next hop along the way is the talented Nina Waldschmidt.  Click here to take you to her blog or on the button below.
