Mojo Monday #329 & IBSIC #73

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing today is inspired by this gorgeous shabby creation by Julie Gearinger.  I love how Julie has used the vintage sign from Stampin’ Up!s Fan Fair DSP as the main focus on her card so when I saw that the colour challenge at Inspired by Stamping was Pink, Red & Cream – I decided to use the same piece of DSP.  I then unintentionally covered it up with my spray of flowers, but you can see the edges of it 🙂  The second challenge at Inspired by Stamping is to create a project using a tag – so I have created a tag and placed it on my card.

The layout for my card comes from this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  This is such a versatile sketch that I’ll be using again.

At the start of my holiday I mentioned that I had been asked to create two cards for one of my friends at work – a 30th birthday card for her sister (click here if you’d like to see it) and a 60th birthday card for her mum.  I think I might offer her this one for her mum.  Do you think this card works for a 60th birthday?

Stampin’ Royalty #208, SUO Challenge #87 & Friday Mashup #141

Hey Everyone

I am LOVING that I am on holidays and can head out to my craft room on a weekday! It’s so nice to not be rushing around on the weekend trying to get all my housework done and then make time for my cards.  I even got a couple of hours of shopping in this morning – (are you even more jealous Karren???).  I’m going to be quick with this post as I’m now off to watch a movie 😉

The card I’m sharing I managed to sneak in for 3 challenges – Stampin’ Royalty sketch challenge, SUO challenge where we create a project using the colours I think of when I think of January and the Tic Toc challenge at Friday Mashup where I create a project with the Theme of Time.

SR208sketch

When I think of January, I think of my sisters birthday.  Her birthstone is a Garnet and because of this, red is her favourite colour – so that’s the main colour I went with on my card.  I was initially looking to use Clockworks for my card, but decided to ditch that idea when I came across Sense of Time first.  It is still one of my favourite retired Stampin’ Up! sets.  I then added the blossom from Morning Meadow and was really happy with the end result – I’m hoping my sister will be too! Freshly Made Sketches #69 & Dynamic Duos #36

Hey Everyone

Linda S from Freshly Made Sketches has given us a very interesting sketch for us to create our cards this week.

FMS69sketch

I was initially a little unsure about what to do with those three circles. In the end I’ve used my Stampin’ Up! Window Framelits for the middle one and then a butterfly and a sentiment for the remaining ones.

I’m combining the FMS sketch with the colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  Their challenge this week is to create a project using Real Red and Basic Black.  Their dessert option is to use these colours and create a Valentine’s Day card.

Dynamic Duos #28 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #34

Hey Everyone

I’ve had such a wonderful day – my mum came over and played in my craft room with me all day! My mum lives just over an hour away from me so we don’t often get the whole day to  just do whatever we want, with no interruptions – thanks mummy for a fabulous day!

One of the cards I made today is for the gorgeous colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos this week.  I’ve also combined the colour challenge with this fabulous sketch over at Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge.

Here’s what I came up with:

Thanks for stopping by.

Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Cherry Cobbler Marker, Sahara Sand Marker

Dynamic Duos #22 & Mojo Monday #260

Hey Everyone

I’m back! Did you miss me? I’ve been on an almost 2 week holiday to one of my favourite places in Australia – Surfers Paradise.  For those who don’t know Australia, Surfers Paradise is a wonderful holiday destination that has beautiful weather (most of the time), gorgeous beaches and theme parks.  I jokingly told a friend recently that the only reason I had kids was so I could justify still going on rides at theme parks! That’s not the only reason I had them, I’m sure it was so they could complain to me about the road trip we took to get there – 2 days there and 2 days back! As wonderful as the holiday was, it’s nice to be home and back into my craft room.

Anyway, enough about me and now on to my card.  I made this card for the colour challenge at Dynamic Duos where their challenge this week is to create a project using Cherry Cobbler and one other colour of my choice. I’m also allowed to a neutral colour, so I’ve used Crumb Cake for this. I couldn’t find a Cherry Cobbler DSP that I wanted for my background so I’ve used this yummy Raspberry Ripple DSP, so I guess my colour of choice is Raspberry Ripple.

I’ve also combined the Dynamic Duos colour challenge with this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday.  I’ve gone with the square sketch this week.

Here’s my card:

Before I go, here’s a photo of the beach outside our resort looking back to Surfers Paradise.

And one of our resort pool (I miss it already!)

Thanks for taking a look.

Merry Monday Challenge #32

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday so that means it’s time for Merry Monday again.  Here’s Lesley’s sketch this week:

Can you believe it? – I’ve gone with more punch art.  I’m not sure what’s come over me, but I’m on a roll with punch art on my Christmas cards. This time I’ve gone with a pine cone.  I saw a pine cone card on Pinterest and loved the idea.  I’ve used my build a blossom punch and curled each of the cones with my bone folder to make them more 3D. I then used my dauber to ink Early Espresso around each cone to give them more definition.  And finally I cut some Always Artichoke cardstock thinly to make my pine cone needles.

Head over to Lesley’s blog and check out the gorgeous Christmas cards the design team have created this week.  If you have time, we’d love to see you join in!

Thanks for stopping by.
