Still AddINKtive Challenges #1

Hey Everyone

My stamping friends Bron and Kathy have started a new challenge blog called Still AddINKtive Challenges – click here to take you to their challenge.  What a great DT they’ve put together as well, faces I know (from being on the same DT as them) and work I love. For their very first week their challenge is to create a card using the following sketch AND colour combination.

This a great challenge if you’re just starting out as all the hard work is done for you with layout and colours!  Here’s my card:

Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #82 & Dynamic Duos #27

Hey Everyone

I woke up at 7.30am this morning (it’s a Sunday I should be sleeping in!) so I headed to my craft cave to enter a couple of challenges I found last night before I went to bed.  My card is for Chupa’s Sketchbook Saturday Challenge where she has come up with this interesting sketch.  I flipped the sketch 90 degrees for my card.

I’ve teamed this sketch with the colour challenge over at Dynamic Duos.  I had it in my head that I was going to “vintage up” Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple – I might stick with a Christmas card next time I come across these colours! We’re allowed a neutral for these challenges so I’ve gone with Crumb Cake. The designer series paper is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Bella Bleu – I think I’ve only used this once before!

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:

Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green

The Paper Players Challenge #118

Hey Everyone

It’s been ages since I’ve had a chance to play along with the challenges at The Paper Players.  The reason being the challenges goes live on a Sunday evening here in Australia and then they finish early Saturday morning.  I work full time, so I find it hard to enter most weeks now – unless of course I have a day off work like I did today 🙂

The very talented Anne Marie has given the challenge this week of creating a clean and simple project using frames.  I may as well let you know now – my card is not truly clean and simple…….you know I struggle with this.

This card started with my wanting to use my new Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP.  I fell in love with this gorgeous DSP, but wanted to use it for a feminine card rather than a Christmas one.  I’ve made a card with a kind of a shadow box frame that I embossed with my new Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  I tend to fussy-cut a lot (have you noticed?) and have used one of the flowers from Everything Eleanor and the leaves from Summer Silhouettes.  For the base of the shadow box I stamped the words from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Charming. Here’s what I came up with:

And from another angle so you can see the raised frame:
