Merry Monday July Challenge – Anything Goes & The Paper Players #153

Hey Everyone

It’s week two of Lesley’s month long Anything Goes Christmas Card Challenge at Merry Monday.

MMCJuly13pic

The Design Team at The Paper Players have a Christmas in July theme challenge, so I’m entering my card into their challenge too!

The designer series paper I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! one called Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP.  No matter many Christmas cards I make, I never seem to be getting to the bottom of my Christmas DSP pile.

Merry Monday Challenge #67

Hey Everyone

Lesley keeps coming up with the most amazing sketches for us to create our cards. Take a look at this fabulous sketch for this weeks Merry Monday Challenge:

MMC67sketch

I’ve gone with a monochromatic card using one of my favourite Christmas Stampin’ Up! stamp sets – Dasher.  He’s one retired stamp set that I don’t think I’ll be parting with in the near future.  The designer series paper I’ve used is from a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP.

Merry Monday Challenge #57

Hey Everyone

Lesley has created yet another fabulous sketch for this weeks Merry Monday Challenge.

MMC57sketch

I’ve gone with some retired Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper – Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP for my card. It’s been a while since I’ve used it on a card, so I thought I’d bring it out for this one. I used my blender pen and Real Red ink to colour in my poinsettia from Watercolour Winter.  The sentiment I’ve used is from Stampin’ Up!s More Merry Messages.

Merry Monday #46

Hey Everyone

It’s for another Merry Monday Challenge.  I can’t believe how quickly Monday’s come around.  Before we know it, we’ll be needing these Christmas cards (well, maybe in a few months time, lol). But really, it’s never too early to start your stash. I had all my cards made in time for Christmas last year by entering every week at Merry Monday – I even had a few left over.

Birds! Hmmmmm…….. I don’t have a lot of bird stamps so I’ve gone with about the only Christmasy bird stamp that I have from Christmas Lodge.  I’m calling them my subtle birds as they’re not very big – I was even doubting if they qualify enough for a card 🙂 I’ve coloured them in and raised them up so you can see them better in real life.

Freshly Made Sketches #66

Hey Everyone

Tui is this weeks hostess over at Freshly Made Sketches.  She’s given us this great sketch that I know I’ll be using again. Thanks Tui!

FMS66sketch

I’ve done my Christmas cards for the year, so I’m making a head start on next years cards. I’ve combined a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Tree Trimmings with Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP for this one. Here’s my card:

Freshly Made Sketches #60

Hey Everyone

Over at Freshly Made Sketches, Tui has come up with this fabulous sketch.  I’m so into circles as the focal point on my cards right now, so I knew this sketch was for me.

This is my first time using Evergreen – I soooooo wanted it and haven’t even inked it up until now.  I figured I’d better use it before it retired! Here’s what I came up with:

I initially had one tree on my card, but I felt it was a little plain so I stamped a second one – now I don’t know if I’ve gone overboard :).

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: Evergreen, Petite Pairs
Other Products: Seam Binding (not SU), Circle Punches, Circle Scissor (retired)

Merry Monday Challenge #39

Hey Everyone

I’m back and this time with my card for Lesley’s Merry Monday Challenge.  How are you going with your Christmas cards?  I’ve got so many, I’ll be right for the next three Christmases!

I’ve used my newest Stampin’ Up! Christmas stamp called Watercolour Winter.  I stamped the outline with Early Espresso and then I coloured my holly and berries in Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive directly onto the stamp.  I then used my trusty old stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the colours with the outline. Because the main panel is wide I stamped the image twice and fussy cut it to make it fit.  Here’s my card:

We’d love to see you join us this week – head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous creations the design team have created. Thanks for stopping by.

The Paper Players Challenge #118

Hey Everyone

It’s been ages since I’ve had a chance to play along with the challenges at The Paper Players.  The reason being the challenges goes live on a Sunday evening here in Australia and then they finish early Saturday morning.  I work full time, so I find it hard to enter most weeks now – unless of course I have a day off work like I did today 🙂

The very talented Anne Marie has given the challenge this week of creating a clean and simple project using frames.  I may as well let you know now – my card is not truly clean and simple…….you know I struggle with this.

This card started with my wanting to use my new Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP.  I fell in love with this gorgeous DSP, but wanted to use it for a feminine card rather than a Christmas one.  I’ve made a card with a kind of a shadow box frame that I embossed with my new Lacy Brocade embossing folder.  I tend to fussy-cut a lot (have you noticed?) and have used one of the flowers from Everything Eleanor and the leaves from Summer Silhouettes.  For the base of the shadow box I stamped the words from a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Charming. Here’s what I came up with:

And from another angle so you can see the raised frame:
