Just Add Ink #87 – A Colour Challenge

Good evening everyone

Hello, my name is Narelle and I’m addicted to challenges.  That’s my “A.A.-type” confession tonight! I have about 5 challenges I need to like to enter weekly.  Just Add Ink is one my fave’s as I like their combination of sketch challenges, colour challenges and themed challenges.  This week is a colour challenge using the following colour combo:

Colour challenges are good for me as they get me away from my neutral colours and they also give me ideas on what colours can go together – as I normally don’t try new combinations.  This is my card using the colour palette:

Stamping 411 Challenge #220

Hey Again

Another challenge I’m entering tonight is one that I’ve just come across whilst cruising around the web – Stamping 411 Challenge.

This card started out completely different from how it ended.  Does that happen to anyone else out there?  My original card had colour, but then I ended up going with my safe colours – Basic Black and Very Vanilla.  To this I added some Love Letter DPS (which has just retired) and then added my stamp set of the month – Artistic Etchings.

This card Made the Showcase at Stamping 411.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Love Letter DSP (retired), Newsprint DSP (retired)

Just Add Ink #83

Hey Everyone

At Just Add Ink this week Bronwyn has come up with the following sketch for us. I’ve used two of my favourite colours in Basic Black and Very Vanilla and my original card had Rich Razzleberry in it, but after a while I decided to remove it and add Basic Gray DSP instead.  I punches out circles to look like petals around the central panel.  For ages I couldn’t decide what to put in the centre, so I ended up going with the Eiffel Tower which is what I had laying around discarded from another challenge.  I then added a bow (surprise, surprise) a tag and it was done.

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey DSP
Ink: Basic Black, Basic Gray
Stamp Sets: Artistic Etchings, French Foliage
Other Products: Black Satin Ribbon, Twine, Circle Punches

Mojo Monday #206 & Pals Paper Arts #109

Hey Again

I’m combing challenges again tonight – Mojo Monday & Pals Papers Arts – Celebrity Colour Challenge.  At Mojo Monday this week the challenge is to make either a square or a round card from the design below.  My choice this week is square.

When I first saw the colours at Pals Paper Arts this week I wondered how I could combine the colours so that the card would look ok.  In the end I’m pretty pleased with how it’s come together.

Thanks for taking a look.

Just Add Ink #82 – Just Add Something from Your Stash!

Hey Everyone

At Just Add Ink this week the challenge is to Just Add Something from Your Stash.  My stash has alot of retired products in it as up until I got my craft room in January this year I tended to buy (lots) and not really make anything because it was always too hard to find what I wanted in the various cupboards I was using as storage.  Now that I can see what I’ve got and then I got this blog going, I’m determined to use up the old stuff.  What I found in my filing cabinet was retired Pale Plum cardstock (3 packets of it!) and 2 packets of Cottage Wall DSP (which I just had to have at the time – still sitting unopened!).

I’m pretty happy with the way this flower came out (even though my button looks slightly crooked in the photo).  I found a tutorial on the 5 Petal Flower Punch here on Vicky Hayes’ site but have used the Fancy Flower Punch on mine.

Thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Cottage Wall DSP (retired), Pale Plum (retired), Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Stamp Sets: French Foliage, Short & Sweet
Other Products: Fancy Flower Punch, Little Leaves Die, Button, Rich Razzleberry Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Decorative Label Punch, Word Window, Distressing Tool, Dauber

Just Add Ink Colour Challenge #81

Hey Everyone

What do you do if you don’t have the colours in a colour challenge? – wing it.  The colours at Just Add Ink this week are: Cajun Craze-I don’t have cardstock or ink, Bashful Blue-I didn’t have cardstock or ink for this either, Peach Parfait-I only had ink for this one and Very Vanilla – I had cardstock for this.  I’ve been only stocking up on cardstock and ink that I use alot – I may have to start adding to my supplies!

I’ve had to substitute Cajun Craze Ink with a Bravo Burgundy marker as this was the closest I had for the clock and the leaves.  I did however have a sheet of Cajun Craze DSP which I have used under the clock.  I don’t know if it shows up on the photo but I used my Bashful Blue marker on the french scripty words from French Foliage.  This one was definitely a challenge, but one I was up for!

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze DSP
Ink: Bravo Burgundy Marker, Bashful Blue Marker, Peach Parfait, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: Forever Young, French Foliage
Other Products: Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Button, Twine, Basic Pearls
