Just Add Ink #83

Hey Everyone

At Just Add Ink this week Bronwyn has come up with the following sketch for us. I’ve used two of my favourite colours in Basic Black and Very Vanilla and my original card had Rich Razzleberry in it, but after a while I decided to remove it and add Basic Gray DSP instead.  I punches out circles to look like petals around the central panel.  For ages I couldn’t decide what to put in the centre, so I ended up going with the Eiffel Tower which is what I had laying around discarded from another challenge.  I then added a bow (surprise, surprise) a tag and it was done.

Thanks for stopping by.

And the second challenge I’m entering this card for is The Friday Mashup.  This week you can use either the sketch below or use dry embossing – or use both.  I’ve chosen to use the sketch.

Pals Paper Arts #102 Sketch Challenge

Hey Everyone

This week is a sketch challlenge at Pals Paper Arts.  I love a sketch challenge because the hard work is mostly done for you!  I’ve pulled out an old favourite stamp set – Baroque Motifs – for this card and combined it with the Eiffel Tower from Artistic Etchings.  You can tell it’s a new favourite of mine because I’ve used it three times this week.  I’ve added a round tag to the striped grosgrain ribbon as well as a piece of tulle – I think it kind of goes with the French theme.

This is what I came up with:

Just Add Ink #79 – Just Add Tearing/Distressing

Hey Everyone

At Just Add Ink this week their challenge is to – Just Add Tearing and/or Distressing. This one’s right up my alley because I love to do both.  I’ve done both tearing and distressing as well as daubing and general dirtying up of the card.  I know I’ve added another tag this week, but the Eiffel Tower was not enough for the circle and I thought it needed a little extra!

This card was featured at My Crafty Picks #29

Thanks for stopping by!

CASE Study Anniversary Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

Whoo hoo! – Congratulations CASE Study on turning one.  What an  excellent idea to have a Blog Hop for your 1st Anniversary.  I have to ask though – did you think it would be easy for us to choose just one card to CASE when there are squillions of amazing cards to choose from?  I’ve been thru the Design Team and former Muses blogs a couple of times and decided I would CASE a card that I love created by Teneale Williams. Her cards are gorgeous and you can find her site by clicking here.

This is her card below that I’ve wanted to CASE for ages.

And this is my take on it:

I’ve kept the layout the same as Teneale’s and used the lilies (I think they’re lilies) from Fifth Avenue Floral.  I know earlier in the week I said I needed an intervention on this stamp set but after today I promise I will intervent (is that a word) myself.  And because it’s a Teneale CASE I decided I needed to spruce up the inside of the card – not something I normally do – but I admire it every time she does it.

Thanks for taking a look.

Inkspirations Colour Challenge #78 & Mojo Monday #199

Hey Everyone

I’m entering two challenges with this post –Inkspirations Colour Challenge and Mojo Monday Challenge.  When I first looked at these colours I thought “easy peasy”.  After sitting looking at them for a while I decided they weren’t so “easy peasy”.  That’s why I decided to combine these colours with the sketch challenge at Mojo.

I’ve used the words from Strength & Hope to background stamp on the circle as well as the flourish and butterfly to dress it up.  For the smaller circle I stamped the round scroll/flourish stamp from Artistic Etchings in perfect plum and raised it up with dimensionals.  To finish the card, I’ve tied a bow “Teneale style” with Very Vanilla satin ribbon.

Not sure if it’s one of my favourites but this is what I ended up with.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink – Fancy Folds Blog Hop #74

Hey Everyone

I was extremely excited when I got on to the Just Add Ink blog on Friday – not only did I get I got an Honourable Mention for last weeks challenge, I got to enter this extremely cool challenge.  This is a fantastic idea JAI Design Team and it gave me the opportunity to create a card with a bit of WOW factor.  Everyone’s cards are stunning and it’s definately worth popping over to see their work.

I spent a while deciding which card I would make and finally decided on this Multi-Flap Card with Pocket by Kathy.  You can find her card by clicking here. Geez, this one took me a while and it would have to be the heaviest card in creation.  I couldn’t stop layering and realised I would have to stop when it kept falling over!

This is the holder (if that’s what it’s called) that I take off to open the card

And a front view of the card with the flaps open

And when it’s opened

And finally a photo of a card that pulls out for you to write on

Thanks for taking a look
