Merry Monday Challenge #72

Hey Everyone

The card I’m sharing with you today is my last card as a Design Team member with Merry Monday Challenges.  I’ve had a ball and want to thank Lesley for asking me to be part of an amazing group of creative women.  I gave myself the challenge of entering every challenge when Lesley started this challenge at the start of last year.  I’m pretty proud of myself as I can say I was able to play along every week.  Even when I was away I was able to enter because by that time I was on the Design Team and had the sketches in advance. I now have a huge stockpile of Christmas cards.

Here’s Lesley’s versatile sketch:

I’ve gone a bit vintagey with my card today and have used a retired Stampin’ Up! set called Watercolour Winter and the paper I’ve used is from a retired pack called Brocade Background DSP.

Merry Monday Challenge #66

Hey Everyone

Yes, I’m back with a 3rd post today – you’re probably all sick of me by now! So I will keep this one short (probably coz I’m running out of things to say!) – people who know me will laugh at that.

It’s Monday so that means a new sketch challenge at Merry Monday.

MMC66sketch

Ok, so I’ve strayed from the again Lesley – I’ve already broken my promise from last week to stick to the sketch.  I really couldn’t get those points to look straight so I made them into banners instead.

Merry Monday Challenge #52

Hey Everyone

This weeks Merry Monday Challenge is a colour challenge – and a perfect one for my love of vintage!

MMC52pic

I’ve used one of my favourite Stampin’ Up! Christmas sets – Watercolour Winter. The holly is stamped in Always Artichoke and Cherry Cobbler that I coloured directly on to the stamp with my markers. The sentiment I’ve used is from More Merry Messages and the sweet little bird is from Bloomin’ Marvellous.  My vintagey Christmas card creation wouldn’t be complete without a big scrunchy seam binding bow.  Here’s my card:

We’d love for you to join us this week – head over to Lesley’s blog and join in our Christmas card fun. You can click on each of the Merry Makers names below to check out their gorgeous cards.

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #47 & Mojo Monday #281

Hey Everyone

It feels like it’s been a while since I entered a challenge – I’ve been really busy and only been getting a chance to make cards for the design teams I’m on.  Today I finally had a chance to make a card that I’m entering into three challenges – Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge and Inspired by Stamping February Blog Hop – Bows – for this hand-dyed quadruple scrunchy bow.

IBSIC47pic

My card was made with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch – I love this unusual sketch and had fun working with the circles.

Mojo281Sketch

Just in case you can’t see it (as it didn’t photograph very well), I did get light blue from the challenge colours on my card as background stamping on the middle circle. Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #151

Hey Everyone

Just Add Ink has a great challenge for you this week.  Tina is this weeks hostess and she has given us the challenge to:

Just Add…..A Shaped Card

I created an easel card made from Stampin’ Up!s window framelits not long ago (you can find it here if you want to check it out).  I loved it so much I decided to create another one using the same framelits.  The designer series papers I’ve used at the top of my card is a retired one called Brocade Background DSP.  The main colour in this DSP is River Rock, a colour I don’t use very often.  I made a few rolled roses in a mix of River Rock and Very Vanilla and layered them with some leaves from my Little Leaves Die. On the bottom of my card I used some of my most favourite ever retired DSP – Love Letter DSP.  I love this houndstooth paper combined with River Rock.

Easel cards are good for me because I decorate the inside at the time I make the card (imagine if I left it undecorated when I took the photo – not a good look!).  Apart from the water splotches stamp from French Foliage in the background, I have no real stamping on this card.  I’ve left this card sentiment-less as I didn’t really think it needed one.  It’s now gone into my “card for any occasion” stash.

Stampin’ Royalty #159 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #42

Hey Everyone

I’ve combined a couple of challenges for my card today.  The sketch challenge from Stampin’ Royalty and the colour challenge from Inspired by Stamping.

I’ve taken a bit of creative licence with the sketch and moved one of the half circles on my card, just because my doily then looked complete.

SR159sketch

A few weeks ago I brought some Inspired by Stamping stamp sets as I wanted to try some out some different stamps.  It’s been a long time since I’ve used anything that’s not Stampin’ Up!.  I really love Stampin’ Up! and will be a demonstrator for a while yet, but I thought I would check out some other stamps every now and then.

Merry Monday Challenge #45

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday, so that means Merry Monday time.  This week is sketch week for us – here’s Lesley’s sketch:

MMC45sketch

I’ve gone with minimal layers (for me), no seam binding and not a huge amount of fussy cutting – for once.  It’s probably a good card for me to make to send in the post because it’s one of the lightest cards I’ve made! Here’s what I came up with:

The Paper Players #127 & Mojo Monday #275

Hey Everyone

Love is in the Air over at The Paper Players where romance and Valentine’s Day are the theme for this weeks challenge.  I’ve gone with a vintagey card that I thought could be used as a Valentine’s Day card or an Anniversary card.  I’ve used this weeks Mojo Monday sketch (gee I love this one Julee!) for the layout of my card.

PP127pic

Mojo275Sketch

Affection Collection is a stamp set that is always sitting on my desk lately so I’ve used the sentiment and flashy background stamp (don’t even know what you would call this stamp).  To match the Pink Pirouette in my designer series papers, I dyed some Very Vanilla Seam Binding with Pink Pirouette ink and scrunched it up to get the ruffled effect. I then added some punched hearts, scrunched up the corner of my card to reveal some retired Newsprint DSP and my card was done. Here’s what I came up with:

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #40

Hey Everyone

I’m back to share a card that I made for the inspiration challenge over at Inspired by Stamping.  Here’s their inspiration pic:

IBSIC40pic

This colour combination is a new one for me so it took me a while to create this card.  And I only just managed to squeeze in blue and that was for the sentiment.  I broke open a packet of Mellow Moss cardstock for my card that I found pushed to the back of the drawer. As I don’t have light purple seam binding I dyed some Very Vanilla seam binding (and my fingers!) with some Pale Plum ink. The sentiment is stamped in Brocade Blue as I think it was the closet blue I had to the challenge colour.  As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m trying to use Postage Due as it has been severely neglected.  I’ve used it in the background behind my flowers (just in case you can’t see it in the photo).

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #148 – Just Add….Christmas

Hey Everyone

Our last Just Add Ink Challenge for 2012 has arrived.  This week our theme is to:

Just Add…….Christmas

I’ve gone with a neutral vintagey Christmas card.   The designer series paper that I’ve used is a retired Stampin’ Up! pack called Brocade Background. I really love the pattern on this Christmas bauble and thought it really looks similar to the print on the designer series paper.

JAI #148 Narelle

We’re taking a little break for Christmas but don’t worry, we’ll be back on 16th January for a whole new year of challenges. We’d love to see what you create for our Christmas themed challenge – head over to the challenge and check out the fabulous Christmas projects the Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.
