Freshly Made Sketches #383

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Wednesday and a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our fab sketch has been designed the amazing Jen Mitchell.

I gave myself a challenge with this card.  On the corner of my desk, I have a pile of unused bits and pieces that I hold on to just in case I might use them on a future card. My mission was to see if I could create a card using only discarded products.  Every image, die cut, DSP and sentiment was taken from this pile, layered and adhered to my card. Card done in less than 10 mins!

The butterfly I used for my card was fussy cut from Botanical Butterflies DSP.  The spotted DSP was also from this DSP pack.  The Mossy Meadow fussy cut leaves are from Jar Of Love – I had just the right amount for my card leftover from another project.  I was thrilled that I had a Mossy Meadow sentiment from Petal Palette also sitting in the pile that I could use.  The little round doily type diecut was cut with Chase Your Dreams Framelits Dies.  The Highland Heather scalloped edge was cut with my Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies.

I’m sure if I tried this again, I couldn’t match a thing. I had fun doing it and it was actually quite satisfying dipping into this pile.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards.  Head over to the challenge and take a look at their gorgeous cards that will no doubt inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #381

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch for you to try at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Lee Ann Barrett.

This weeks sketch lends to clean lines and lots of white space.  I’ve added a strip of DSP from Botanical Butterfly DSP matted with some Basic Black Cardstock to my Whisper White Cardstock base.  I then fussy a butterfly from the same DSP to place on my leaves cut with my Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies. These were made with Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  I then adhered the sentiment with some Braided Linen Thread and some Basic Black Cord underneath. A very quick and clean card for once!

Just Add Ink #442

Hey Everyone

Welcome to Friday and a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week is sketch week at JAI – take a look at the fabulous sketch designed by Kim.

Can you tell I love layers on my cards? Pretty sure your answer’s going to be yes. I try to simplify my layers, but before I know it, my card is full of layers!

These fabulous leaves and sentiment that I’ve used on my card are from Stampin’ Up!s Wonderful Romance Stamp Set.  I stamped the leaves with Black Archival Ink and then gave them a light watercolour with Lemon Lime Twist and Mossy Meadow Inks.  I then used my matching Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies to cut them out.  The Whisper White doily type die is also from this die set.

To add another colour to my card, I used a strip of Petal Pink Designer Series Paper from Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The butterfly I’ve added to my card is fussy cut from Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. I’m really getting the hang of cutting into my DSP!  I then added a pretty Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequin.

The Design Team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful cards using this sketch. Pop over to Just Add Ink and see what they team have created for you.  We would love it if you could play along.

Thanks for stopping by.

Butterfly Gala South Pacific Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

The cards I’m sharing for our blog hop today feature Stampin’ Up!s Butterfly Gala Bundle.  The Butterfly Duet Punch has been so popular that there are only limited numbers in Australia available to order.  If you’d like to order this punch, be sure to order it soon.  Once it runs out, it will be unavailable to order for a few months.

Myself and four of my Artisan friends from the South Pacific have created projects using the Butterfly Gala Bundle for you. The designer series paper featured on both of my cards is free during during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $90 or more.  This gorgeous pack of paper is called Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  I really like this colour combination of Highland Heather, Basic Black, Whisper White and tinges of Pear Pizzazz.

Another Sale-A-Bration item you can earn free are these fabulous Butterfly Elements – the perfect embellishments for any project.  To give the leaves colour, I ran them directly across my Pear Pizzazz Ink pad. I then took a Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequin and adhered it to the centre of the flower.

The butterflies I’ve created are watercoloured with Highland Heather and Pear Pizzazz Inks. I created a window frame with my Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and added a square of Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper and a rectangle of Basic Black Cardstock behind it.  I then took a strip of striped DSP from this pack and a strip of Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon and placed them behind the window frame.

The sentiment that I’ve used on my card is also from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set.   The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Ink.

The sentiment I’ve used on my second card is also from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set.  The butterflies for this card were created with the same colours as my first card.  For this card I added a circle of Highland Heather Cardstock and a circle of Botanical Butterflies DSP.  I then added some White Bakers Twine from top to bottom of my card to finish it off.

The next hop along the way is my talented NZ Artisan friend – Angela Meiritz-Reid.  Pop over to her blog by clicking on her name or on the badge below and see her gorgeous projects – they are sooooo pretty!

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #373

Hey Everyone

Welcome to our newest sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches. This weeks sketch has been designed by the fabulous and so very talented Kim Singdahlsen.Something I don’t normally do is flip a sketch.  I’m thinking the main reason I did this was to use up the diecut from Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies that I had sitting on my desk. I’ve placed it between strips of Gingham Gala 6″ x 6″ DSP and Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock.  I’ve starting cutting into my DSP! Eek! The black and white butterfly has been cut from Botanical Butterfly DSP – an item you can earn free during Sale-A-Bration when you spend $90 or more.

The sentiment I’ve used is from the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue called Beauty Abounds. To highlight the sentiment I’ve stamped a bokeh effect stamp also from this stamp set in Lemon Lime Twist. I then added some leafy diecuts from Wonderful Romance Framelits dies. To finish of my mostly monochromatic card, I then added a Lemon Lime Twist sequin.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created awesome cards using Kim’s sketch. Pop over to the challenge and take a look.
