Stampin’ Royalty Challenge #141 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #26

Hey Everyone

At Stampin’ Royalty this week they have the following inspiration pic for us to create our cards:

From this pic I’ve chosen to use the banners, the newspaper print as well as the soft colour palette (although now that I look at the photo again my blue is a bit softer than the picture!

I’ve also combined my card for the sketch challenge at Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge where this week they have the following sketch that also uses banners.

Here’s my card:

Just Add Ink #132

Hey Everyone

Mae has provided us with this great sketch for our challenge at Just Add Ink this week.  I had so many ideas running through my head when I saw this one – I was going with a man card, then a boy card and ended up with a kind of shabby chic feminine card. This sketch is so versatile that it could be used for any card type really.

Here’s Mae’s sketch:

Here’s my card:

I’ve gone with Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Beau Chateau DSP for my card.  Instead of daubing with Crumb Cake as I normally do, I lightly daubed with Basic Gray.  I had the bow already tied in my ribbon off-cuts box so I gave it a bit of a squish in my hand to get it from the flat position and to give it some body again.  I wanted just the outline of the Apothecary Art stamp as border for my framelit so I used my marker to highlight the area I wanted stamped.

I hope you can join us at Just Add Ink this week – head over to the challenge and check out the beautiful cards the DT have created.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday Challenge #27

Hey Everyone

Lesley’s back from her month long blogging break (hope you had a wonderful holiday Lesley) and has provided us with the following sketch at Merry Monday this week:

I attended our Heartfelt Stampin’ Event on Saturday and then realised when I got home that I hadn’t completed this card for the challenge.  This would be the fastest card I’ve made in ages. I’ve gone monochromatic (surprise, surprise!) for my card because they were the colours I had on my desk. Back to the Heartfelt Stampin’ Event – I had a fantastic time and finally got to meet some of my fellow Just Add Ink DT members – Tina, Christine & Jo. Thanks girls for taking me in and allowing me to hang with you all!

Here’s my card:

I hope you have time to check out this weeks challenge and the gorgeous project from the Merry Makers by clicking here – and hopefully you’ll have time to join in.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stamping 411 #264 & Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #17

Hey Everyone

My card today has been combined for two challenges – Stamping 411 Sketch Challenge – here’s their sketch for this week:

And I’ve used the inspiration pic from Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge – where the colours we’re to use are light blue, light yellow and light pink as our main colours. I think I’ve achieved this….

How good do those cupcakes look???

Thanks for taking a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #35

Hey Everyone

My mission this morning was to clean up my messy desk and unearth my bone folder! Mission accomplished and while I was at it, I found this flower that I had discarded from another project, so I decided I would use it on a card today.

Jennifer from Freshly Made Sketches has provided the following great sketch for this weeks challenge:

Here’s my card:

Mojo Monday Challenge #229

Hey Everyone

I really love this weeks sketch at Mojo Monday.

I initially thought it would be a hard sketch – but I was really pleased with how quickly it came together (not my usual 3 hours to complete a card!).  I decided to use an old favourite stamp set – Fifth Avenue Floral – for my card and teamed it with Early Espresso cardstock (even though it photographs black) and Beau Chateau DSP.  Here’s what I came up with:

Thanks for taking a look.

Products used:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Beau Chateau DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral, Occasional Quotes (retired)
Other Products: Early Espresso Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls

Here’s my card:

I’ve been wanting to use the typewriter from Established Elegance since I first got this set, but I could never get it looking quite right (I felt it was a little big).  I figured that if I didn’t start using it soon, I’d never use it – in the end I don’t think it looks too bad on this card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #4

Hey Everyone

I love being on holidays when it’s school holidays.  The kids can drive me a bit mad sometimes, but the amount of time I get to play in my craft room far more outweighs the time they drive me insane.

My card today is for this weeks challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  When I saw the sketch I straight away thought of using my scallop envelope die (I have only ever used it twice before! -shocking really) – I thought I’d better get some use out of it!

This is my card:

This is a pic of the tag to show you it comes out of the envelope.

This is a close up of the tag – I really like these words but haven’t had the chance to use them until now.

I was a Perfect Princess at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

Thanks for stopping by.
