Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #255 & Dynamic Duos Challenge #56

Hey Everyone

It’s Sunday night here in Australia and we have a public holiday tomorrow – yippee, another day that I can play in my craft room! I got a chance today for a quick play and created the following card for this weeks Create with Connie & Mary sketch challenge.

CCMC255sketch

I’ve combined the sketch challenge with a the pretty colour challenge at Dynamic Duos. I was taken with the designer series paper that Janet from the Design Team used, so I’ve gone with similar papers.

I’ve just realised I’ve gone with another rolled rose card – I seem to be on a roll with them again! Here’s my card:

Mojo Monday #287, Stampin’ Royalty #170 & Just Add Ink #160

Hey Everyone

I had a bit of play-time today with my mum so I thought I’d enter some challenges that I combined all in the one card – Mojo Monday, Stampin’ Royalty & Just Add Ink.

Here’s the sketch for Mojo Monday:

It’s my off week for Design Team duties at Just Add Ink but I thought I would whip up a card with the inspiration picture colours and enter just for fun. Don’t you just love these earthy colours?

Stampin’ Royalty’s challenge this week is to create a project using Ribbon & Pearls.  This was easy for me as I tend to add them to all my cards!

Merry Monday Challenge #55

Hey Everyone

It’s Monday, so that means it’s another Merry Monday Challenge.  This week is Tic-Tac-Toe week.

MMC55pic

I’ve gone with the three tiles across the top of the grid – Animal, Designer Series Paper and Ribbon.  It was only after I’d taken a photo to load it up to the blog did I think that it reminded me of another card I made a few weeks ago – same reindeer used, but different background.

The stamps sets I’ve used are retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets called Scenic Season and Winter Post.  The Designer Series Paper I’ve used is also retired called Beau Chateau. The snowy effect in the background was created by using my Spritzing Tool.  This was a quick and easy Christmas card – something that doesn’t happen for me all the time.

Here’s my card:

We’d love for you to join us this week – head over to Lesley’s blog and join in our Christmas Challenge. You can click on each of the Merry Makers names below to check out their gorgeous cards.

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #50 & Mojo Monday #284

Hey Everyone

The challenge at Inspired by Stamping this week is to create a project using the following soft colours:

IBSIC50pic

I’ve combined challenges again and have made my card with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch in mind:

mojo284sketch

I’ve been taking a look at my Stampin’ Up! stamp sets I haven’t used in a while. There’s a pile sitting there of about 20 stamp sets that I’m deciding whether or not to sell – I haven’t sold off any retired stamp sets as yet, I’m scared I may need them at some stage.!  One of the neglected stamp sets I have on my desk is Elements of Style. I LOVED this stamp set when I first got it so I’ve made the effort to use it today.   I’ve also made another card with it for a Design Team challenge that I will share later in the week.

For this card I thought the blossom would look nice in the background behind my birdcage so I used my markers to colour the image in Pear Pizzazz and Pretty in Pink.  I’ve used a retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Beau Chateau as it fit nicely with the challenge colours. The bird cage is from Nature Walk and the butterfly is from Kindness Matters – both Stampin’ Up! stamp sets.  The sentiment frame is from an Inspired by Stamping set called Fancy Labels 18.

Dynamics Duos #37

Hey Everyone

My 4 weeks of holidays has come to an end 😦 and I’m back at work tomorrow. Not heading out to my craft room whenever I want during the day will be majorly different.

I decided I wanted to make another tag and the colour combination at Dynamic Duos was the perfect fit for it.

DD37pic

For last weeks challenge at Merry Monday, our challenge was to create a card using a bird.  One of my co-designers, Margaret, used the bird punch on this gorgeous clean card and she has inspired me to use it too.  I’ve barely used the bird in the last 3 years, so I gave myself the challenge to use it on a project.  Instead of a lovely clean card like Margaret’s, I gone for a vintagey tag as this was the only way I could think to incorporate it. Here’s what I came up with:

Here’s a close up of the tag so you can see the bird a bit closer:

Just Add Ink #150

Hey Everyone

We hope you enjoyed our Just Add Ink Big Shot Blog Hop last week. Thank you to everyone who hopped with us and left me lovely comments – I really, really appreciate it.  Also a big hello to my new followers 🙂 I’m so pleased that you want to follow me!

This week at Just Add Ink our challenge for you is a sketch challenge. Mae has created the following fabulous sketch for us:

JAI150_Sketch

When I started blogging two years ago I used pretty much only neutrals unless I was entering a colour challenge.  I’ve always felt comfortable with them, but lately I’m addicted to Midnight Muse – I’ve decided Midnight Muse is my new black! So here’s another Midnight Muse card:

We’d love for you to join us with this weeks sketch – head over to Just Add Ink and check out what the Design Team have created this week!

Still AddINKtive Challenges #2

Hey Everyone

Happy Sunday to you! I’ve had this card sitting on my desk for a couple of days, but haven’t had a chance to put it up until today. The card I’ve made is for the combined sketch and colour challenge at Still AddINKtive Challenges.

SAC2pic

I’ve wussed out on this one and have gone for the sketch only – the colours threw me a bit, so I took the easy way out and just went for the sketch.  For someone who was never a “blue” person, gee I’m using it a lot lately.  I’ve gone for a monochromatic blue card for you today.

Mojo Monday #266 & The Paper Players #120

Hey Everyone

It’s a holiday here in Melbourne today so I was able to play around in my craft room.  I meant to go in there and clean it up, but so far all I’ve done is make one card – I keep getting interrupted.  The reason it’s a holiday here is because of a horse race – it’s the race that “stops the nation” apparently.  I’m just glad it stopped me from going to work!

My card is made for two challenges – Mojo Monday where they have this fabulous sketch (I’ll be using this one again for sure!) and Ann’s theme challenge over at The Paper Players.  Their “Give Thanks” theme challenge can be interpreted in so many ways.  I’ve gone with a simple Thank You card.  One of the girls at work recently asked me for one and I realised I didn’t have any on hand.

Here’s my card:

The Paper Players Challenge #119

Hey Everyone

Look at me! It’s Monday and I’m posting during the day – I’m on a day off from work so I managed to sneak a card in for a challenge.  I made my card for the Nance’s sketch challenge at The Paper Players.  This is a fantastic layout so I wanted to play along (early for once!). As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I was going to make – don’t you just love it when it all comes together easily?

I’ve gone a little bit shabby with this one.  I was inspired to make some flowers are seeing Helen’s beautiful flower here – doesn’t it look real? I haven’t gone with a camellia but with rolled roses instead.  Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge #32

Hey Everyone

I’ve been playing along with the challenges at Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenges lately and I’m thrilled to say this card was chosen as a winner!  I was asked by Joanna if I would like to Guest Design this week – of course my answer was “yes!”.  The challenge this week is to create a project using the following colours – Blue, Silver, Gold. Here’s what I came up with:

I’ve used some retired Stampin’ Up! DSP called Beau Chateau for my card and matted the DSP with brushed gold cardstock. For the silver on my card I’ve used a silver antique brad and some retired hodgepodge.

Head over to the challenge and check out the gorgeous cards the Design Team have created.

Thanks for stopping by.
