Mojo Monday #381 & colourQ #276

Hey Everyone

I’m back with my second post for today.  The challenges I’m entering my card into are: Mojo Monday and colourQ challenge.

As with my first post today, I used the same background technique for my card. You can see how I did this my clicking here.  The colours I’ve used for my background this time are Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake.  I’ve used some retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets for my card – Artistic Etchings, Papaya Collage, Happy Watercolour & French Foliage.  Two of my all-time favourites stamp sets are Artistic Etchings French Foliage.  I’ve combined them with Dictionary & Gorgeous Grunge (both current Stampin’ Up!) stamp sets. The sentiment is from Four You.

Just Add Ink #183

Hey Everyone

This week is sketch week at Just Add Ink.  Tina has created this interesting sketch – I’ve taken this sketch literally but I can’t wait to see what you do with it.

JAI183sketch

I’ve gone a bit vintagey with this one and used the soft colour palette of Summer Starfruit and Smoky Slate.

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #237

Hey Everyone

The sketch from Create with Connie & Mary this week is a fabulous one.  When I first saw it, I was a little unsure what I would do with the rectangles and in the end I decided to go vintage.

CCMC237sketch

I really do love Artistic Etchings but don’t use it enough these days. I started with the Eiffel Tower and the rest fell into place. Of course I had to add a scrunchy seam binding bow, but this ribbon IS the best for tying bows!  The flower I’ve used is from our upcoming Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Catalogue – it’s called Vanilla Flower Trim. You can either keep it joined together or you can cut it off individually like I’ve done.

Mojo Monday #269

Hey Everyone

Mojo Monday has a fabulous challenge this week – to create either a round or square card with the following sketches:

I decided to go square (mainly because this was quicker to whip up than the round one!). Lazy of me, I know, but I’ve got work in the morning.  I’ve gone with a vintage card and dragged out Stampin’ Up!s Artistic Etchings and Established Elegance which have been neglected of late. Here’s what I came up with:

I’ve used Fan Fair Designer Series Paper as I think the papers in this pack are gorgeously vintagey.  I wouldn’t even have noticed this pack if it wasn’t for my good stamping friend LeAnne – she’s my enabler 🙂  She demonstrates how good they can look and I buy! It’s kind of like the movie Field of Dreams where they say “Build it and they will Come”.  Instead with me it’s “Demonstrate it and I will Buy”!  I’m a sucker for good products!

I’ve also combined my card for the sketch challenge at Inspired by Stamping Inspiration Challenge where this week they have the following sketch that also uses banners.

Freshly Made Sketches #49

Hey Everyone

I’m back today with another card for a challenge.  This time it’s for the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.

I ummed and ahed over this one and spent ages wondering what to do with those circles.  Jen, you threw me with this sketch!  I pulled out my new Comfort Cafe DSP to let this gorgeous paper “do all the work” on this card – it kind of reminds me of Laura Ashley linen. Here’s my card:

Dynamic Duos #16

Hey Again Everyone

I’ve got another card for you tonight – it’s for this weeks challenge at Dynamic Duos.  The challenge for us is to create a project using River Rock and Basic Black.  Challenges with Basic Black would have to be my favourite – I just love any colour teamed with black.  The dessert option for this Black Tie Challenge is that we can use brads.  I’ve gone with a single brad mainly because I forgot to add more!

Here’s my card:

Did you notice the clock?  It’s from a stamp set called Clockworks and it will be available in the new catalogue available from 1st September – I can’t wait to get my hands on all the new products.  Roll on September 1…..

Thanks for stopping by.

CASE Study 2nd Anniversary Challenge

Hey Everyone

I haven’t had much of a chance to play along with CASE Study for a few weeks, but as soon as I saw their challenge this week for their 2nd Anniversary (well done on the 2 years girls!) I knew this challenge was right up my alley – it’s to design a project with your signature style.  Of course I’ve gone vintage – with lots of distressing and lots of  sponging. I attended Melbourne’s Heartfelt Stampin’ Event a couple of days ago and made this card in my signature style but haven’t been able to post it until today. I wanted my sentiment to match the whole Heartfelt theme but as I didn’t have a stamp that said Heartfelt, I printed one out from my computer.

The girls have all got together and organised a blog hop – head over to their challenge blog and check it out by clicking here – you’ll be totally inspired by all the creativity goin’ on.

Thanks for stopping by.

Inspired by Stampin Inspiration Challenge #16

Hey Everyone

It’s school holidays here in Melbourne so I’ve had a bit of time to browse around and find a new challenge to me – Inspired by Stampin Inspiration Challenge.  As you know I’m addicted to challenges and after checking out the beautiful shabby cards the design team have made, I thought I’d give it a go too!

Here’s their sketch this week:

Here’s my card:

And a close up of my tag (I love tags and this one is a CASE of one I made previously that you can see by clicking here):

Thanks for taking a look.
