Mojo Monday Challenge #226

Happy Friday evening everyone

Alright, so I’m extremely excited about something and to find out what it is, you’ll have to come back tomorrow so you can share in my joy (I think you ladies will be more excited for me than the boys in family!)

My card tonight is for this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge.  The challenge is create either a round or a square card – I went with square coz it’s easier than finding a circle die or finding an envelope to fit it in!

Here’s my card: (it’s another vintage one with monochromatic tones, but I love this style!)

Thanks for stopping by.

Products used:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, DSP, First Edition DSP, Love Letter DSP (retired)

Just Add Ink #102 – Just Add … Kathy Tanner

Hey Everyone

Got a quick one tonight for the challenge at Just Add Ink – Just Add… Kathy Tanner.  I chose to CASE this gorgeous neutrally coloured card of Kathy’s:

Here’s my card – I’ve always wanted to make a card like this but never had the inspiration before.  Kathy’s layout and collage of stamping inspired me to create this card:

And a close up of the main panel:

Thanks for stopping by.

Create with Connie & Mary #182

Hey Everyone

I’ve used an unused until now stamp set called Charming for the this weeks sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary.   I love a background script stamp and also a flower stamp, so this set is perfect for me.  I’ve used my Pool Party & Basic Black markers to colour in the flower and then painstakingly cut it out (almost cut it in half twice!)- I was going to raise it up, but as the stems are so fine it didn’t work very well.

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

My second post tonight is for the challenge at Mojo Monday.  I’m entering early this week, only because I had the day off and had a chance to play around.  Mojo Monday have a circle or square challenge this week and I decided to go square from the sketch below:

I played around with colours for a while and then found my unopened pack of In-Colour DSP and flicked thru it until I chose Pool Party for my card. This is what I came up with:

The Paper Players Challenge #70

Hey Everyone

Betcha didn’t expect a post from me on a weekday!  It’s a public holiday here in Melbourne due to the running of the Melbourne Cup so I’ve had the day off work and had a chance to play in my room.  My post tonight is for this weeks Anything Goes Fall Theme Challenge at The Paper Players.  I’m a little bit addicted to my spritzer tool which I pulled out again for a vintage-y background look on the top note.  I then played around with daubing the leaves and ended up using old olive and then soft suede to hopefully give them a “real” look.

Here’s what I created this week:

Thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, First Edition DSP
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede Marker, Soft Suede, Old Olive

CASE Study Challenge #63

Good Evening Everyone

This card is for this weeks challenge at CASE Study Challenge.  Niki Estes has been October’s muse and I have loved every one of her cards.  This is her card below:

My layout is similar but I decided to go with more neutral colours as I am giving my card to someone special who has recently lost a family member.  I’m not a big fan of “with sympathy” worded cards , so I wanted mine to say “thinking of you” instead.

Thanks for taking a look.

Ink: Black Stazon, Basic Gray
Stamp Sets: Sense of Time, Creative Elements, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, Kindness Matters

Over at Just Add Ink this week they have the following sketch to inspire us.  Click on their name to take you to their blog to join in this week.

I’ve made a start this week on my Christmas cards and am quite pleased with myself as I’m not leaving it until the week before Christmas for once!  I think this is my 3rd card using Lovely as a Tree, but I’m loving it at the moment.  I even got up the courage to use my spritzer tool which has until now sat unopened in the box, along with the brayer which I promise will get rolling soon.

Thanks for stopping by.

CASE Study Challenge #62

Hey Everyone

This card I’ve made is for this weeks challenge at CASE Study Challenge – you can check out their blog by clicking on their name.  Their muse this month is Niki Estes and you can check out her gorgeous blog by clicking here.

This is her card that we CASEd this week:

Instead of the background stamping on the card – I’ve used the spotted DSP from Beau Chateau. As I can’t sew for the life of me, I scored lines around the edge of the main panel (not sure if you can see this on my photo). Anyway, I stayed pretty true to the Niki’s design and this is what I came up.

I made a thank you card this week as I wanted to thank a fellow stamper who sent me some gifts after I made mention in a previous post about missing out on ordering some ink, refill & marker when they retired.  I was completely blown away with her generosity and was reminded how friendly our group of stampers are.

Thanks for taking a look.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Beau Chateau DSP, Old Olive
Ink: Crumb Cake
Stamp Set: Precious Butterflies
Other Products: Fancy Flower Punch, 5 Petal Flower Punch, Antique Brad
