Paper Players Challenge #103

Hey Everyone

Check out the colour combination Anne Marie has come up with this week over at The Paper Players!

These colours are so pretty and soft together, aren’t they? I might have to use them again – thanks for the inspiration Anne Marie!  My layout for my card was inspired by an old Pals Paper Parts sketch and then as I normally do – I changed it up a bit.  I’m hanging out for our new Stampin’ Up! catalogue so I can buy myself some new flowery sets.  Until it comes I’ve decided I’m going to revisit some old stamp sets that have been neglected in my cupboard.  Upsy Daisy is one of those stamp sets that hasn’t stayed on my desk (where my favourites live).  I  don’t think I’ve used it much at all over the last 2 years.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Merry Monday Challenge – Something Different Week 2

Hey Everyone

This is week 2 of Lesley’s month long Merry Monday Challenge for July.  While Lesley’s taking a well deserved blogging break we are holding the fort and creating one card a week from our favourite past Merry Monday sketch (click here to take you to the full list of sketches to choose from).  You can join in at anytime over the next three weeks – we’d love to see you play along.

I’ve chosen the sketch below to create my 4 different cards this month.  Click here to see my take on this sketch from last week.  This time I decided to change it up from a cleaner card and ended up going vintage with it:

Here’s my card:

Please check out what fabulous cards the Merry Makers have created and if you have time, we hope you can join in.

Thanks for taking a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #38

Hey Everyone

Stampin’ Up! in Australia recently had a special that if you purchased three packs of DSP you received a fourth one free.  I’m a sucker for a special so I took advantage of this offer. One of the packs I got was Pocketful of Posies, one that I’d never even taken notice of before.  I decided to open it today and found I really love a lot of the papers in there!  I found this great sketch by Linda at Freshly Made Sketches and christened my new DSP.

I used an old favourite stamp set that is now retired – Echoes of Kindness.  I stamped the flower and then cut it out.  I then stamped it a second time and coloured in every 2nd petal.  I then cut out the coloured ones and raised them up – not sure if you can see the raised petals in the photo but it looks really effective in real life.  Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Pocketful of Posies DSP, Rich Razzleberry DSP
Ink: Rick Razzleberry

Hey Everyone

This is my 4th and final post tonight (I promise).  I love the challenges at Pals Paper Arts and I especially love Margaret’s sketches – I wish there was one every week!

Can you tell what my “theme of the day” was?  Spice Cake DSP has been used on all four of my cards. Prior to my cards today I’d only used it once before, so I was determined to use up my cardstock as I think I’m becoming a hoarder! 🙂

Here’s my card:

Merry Monday Challenge #16

Hey Everyone

Here’s this weeks sketch from Lesley’s Merry Monday Challenge.

I’ve gone with Christmas Lodge this week.  I really like this set but it hasn’t made it to the Australian catalogue as yet (so I had to buy it off ebay!).  I added some trees from Lovely as a Tree around the lodge to make it appear as if it was in the woods.  I then stamped it a second time and cut around it and raised it up to add a little dimension.

Thanks for taking a look.

Just Add Ink #113

Hey Everyone

It’s Friday again, so that means a new Just Add Ink challenge.  This week we were given the following inspiration pic by Jodene to create our projects.

So every now and then I get a stamp set that has a stamp in it that I don’t always use.  I challenged myself this week to use the typewriter from Established Elegance as it’s one I never know how to make work on a card.  I’ve teamed it with the Everyday Enchantment DSP from this years Sale-A-Bration. Here’s what I came up with:

Merry Monday Challenge #8

Hey Everyone

Here’s my card for this weeks Merry Monday Challenge.  Click here to take you to Lesley’s blog and join in the fun.  This way you have some Christmas cards up your sleeve for when “the season” sneaks up on you.

I’ve used the Notably Ornate frame instead instead of the sketch’s oval shape, but I have cut an oval for the stamp of the family and placed it inside the frame. And in case you’re wondering – it’s my mission in life to vintage pretty much every sketch and colour challenge I enter 🙂

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Love Letter DSP (retired)
Ink: Black Stazon, Crumb Cake Marker, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: Notably Ornate, Welcome Christmas, Many Merry Messages (retired)
Other Products: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Antique Brad, Oval Die
