Hey Everyone

Just a quick one tonight as a really good movie is about to start.  I had a chance to create one card on this busy weekend for a challenge so I combined it for two – this weeks Merry Monday Challenge and Cardabilities sketch challenge.  Here are their inspiration pics:

I dragged out a retired Stampin’ Up! set for the baubles called Merry & Type. Once I heat embossed them with Silver embossing powder I gave them a bit of colour with my blendabilities.  I’ve used some retired brushed silver cardstock for the card base and I’ve teamed this with some DSP from All is Calm.

Hey Everyone

We have a gorgeous colour challenge at Just Add Ink for you this week courtesy of Chantell.

Don’t you just love it when a card just comes together?  Normally I would be scared of colour challenges, especially when it consists of more than one colour and a neutral! My card was completed in record time and I have to say I really loved putting it together.  My stars are from a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Bright & Beautiful.  I’ve stamped them in Lost Lagoon and Gold inks.  To give extra interest to the background I stamped the sentiment “Christmas Wishes” from a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Ornamental Pine. It was great to give my previously unused Gold ink a workout on this card.

This weeks sketch hostess at Freshly Made Sketches is my stamping friend from NZ – Karren Johnson.  I always find so much inspiration from Karren’s blog. She’s so knowledgeable on every technique out there and is not afraid to use them.

I decided to ink up Wondrous Wreath for the first time and for some reason a black and white colour scheme came to mind.  After I put my card together I felt the wreath was a little blah so I decided to add these pinecones from Ornamental Pine. Here’s my card:

Hey Everyone

Wednesday’s mean a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the lovely Cindy Hall has created this versatile sketch that can be used as is, or I can easily see it flipped on it’s side.

I’ve gone with a Christmas card. I received some new goodies from Stampin’ Up!s Holiday Catalogue and I couldn’t wait to play with them.  The gorgeous star and sentiment are from one set I HAD to have straight away from the cattie – Bright and Beautiful. The strip of DSP I’ve used is from All is Calm Specialty DSP.  To finish off my card I’ve added some Lost Lagoon ribbon.
