Freshly Made Sketches #388

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch up at Freshly Made Sketches for you to try.  This week our sketch hostess is Karren Johnson, our Queen of Backgrounds and all things Distress Inks.

I haven’t inked up Abstract Impressions for a while, so I was determined to use it on my card today.  I’ve used two of the three-step flower stamp for my card.  They’ve been stamped in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay Inks.  I fussy cut them out and layered them with some leaves cut with my Floral Romance Thinlits Dies. I also added the doily-like die cut from Floral Romance Thinlits Dies under my flower arrangement.

The Bermuda Bay Cardstock background piece has been embossed with the Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder. and is matted with Whisper White Cardstock and Rose Gold Foil Cardstock.

Here’s my card:

The Clean Team have created wonderful and varied cards using this weeks sketch.  Pop over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

CAS(E) this Sketch #278

Hey Everyone

I managed to fit in a card just for fun on the weekend, but only just got a chance to photograph it and post it here.  The fabulous sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch gave me a chance to ink up the roses from Stampin’ Up!s Abstract Impressions.

My roses are stamped with Blushing Bride and Berry Burst Inks.  I fussy cut them out and then added some leaves that I had sitting on my desk cut with my Flourish Thinlits Dies.  For the background I stamped the watercolour wash stamp from Love What You Do in Blushing Bride.  I then added some ink splashes with the stamp from Timeless Textures.  I stamped these in Mossy Meadow.

The sentiment I’ve used is from also from Abstract Impressions.  I hadn’t actually read this sentiment until I made this card, but when I did, it totally made me smile.

Thanks for stopping by.

Colour INKspiration #36

Hey Everyone

Welcome to the newest challenge at Colour INKspiration Challenges.  I am in love with the colours in these inspiration pics:

I took inspiration rom the gorgeous flower in the bottom right photo.  I thought it looked very similar to the flower I’ve used from Remarkable You.  I’ve given it a light watercolour with Crushed Curry Ink and then added some Soft Suede Ink to the bottom of the petals to add some shadows.

My leaves are also from this set and I have given the lightest of watercolour with Basic Gray Ink – there was really much more water than colour.

The sentiment I’ve used is stamped in Basic Gray  I’ve been wanting to use this sentiment from Abstract Impressions on a card and so I really designed this card around using this sentiment.

Here’s my card:

I’m the last person on the hop, but if you’ve started with me, then you can hop to the start by clicking here or by clicking the next button below.  This will take you to the gorgeous creation Kim Oliver has created.

Freshly Made Sketches #341

Hey Everyone

Happy Wednesday to you all!  It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week I’m the sketch hostess and here’s the sketch I designed:

Love me some new goodies.  For my card I’ve used flowers from a new Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Love What You Do. I’ve coloured these pretty flowers in Lovely Lipstick Ink. For the tips of the flowers I added really watered down ink and for the centre I gave them a more heavier layer.  The water-washed background stamp is stamped in Soft Sea Foam Ink. The sentiment that I have stamped on my main panel is from Abstract Impressions.  I stamped this sentiment in Memento Black Ink. I then added some Mini Copper Trim and some Black Cord to the back of my sentiment panel.  Copper sequins were the last embellishment that I added to my card.

The team have created gorgeous cards that made my sketch look good! Head over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
