Just Add Ink #452

Hey Everyone

It’s time for a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  Our challenge this week is for you to create a project using the following sketch:

Sketches are my go-to when sitting down to create a card.  I might stray a little from the original sketch, but this time I tried to remain true to the sketch.

I am totally in love with this lil bunny from Fable Friends.  I’ve used this bunny in the past for baby cards and now I’ve added the image to create an Easter card. The bunny was given a light watercolour with Basic Gray Ink and Mint Macaron.

In my endeavour to use up my scraps from my never-ending pile of offcuts, I circle punched a variety of circles of Elegant Eggplant and Highland Heather Cardstock as well as some DSPs.  The leaves were also in this pile.  They’re from Jar of Love and are stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink.  The sentiment is also from Fable Friends and is stamped in Memento Black Ink. I then added some little sequins from Iridescent Sequin Assortment to finish off my card.

The girls at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards that I know will inspire you. Head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

Freshly Made Sketches #383

Hey Everyone

Welcome to another Wednesday and a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week our fab sketch has been designed the amazing Jen Mitchell.

I gave myself a challenge with this card.  On the corner of my desk, I have a pile of unused bits and pieces that I hold on to just in case I might use them on a future card. My mission was to see if I could create a card using only discarded products.  Every image, die cut, DSP and sentiment was taken from this pile, layered and adhered to my card. Card done in less than 10 mins!

The butterfly I used for my card was fussy cut from Botanical Butterflies DSP.  The spotted DSP was also from this DSP pack.  The Mossy Meadow fussy cut leaves are from Jar Of Love – I had just the right amount for my card leftover from another project.  I was thrilled that I had a Mossy Meadow sentiment from Petal Palette also sitting in the pile that I could use.  The little round doily type diecut was cut with Chase Your Dreams Framelits Dies.  The Highland Heather scalloped edge was cut with my Be Mine Stitched Framelits Dies.

I’m sure if I tried this again, I couldn’t match a thing. I had fun doing it and it was actually quite satisfying dipping into this pile.

The team at Freshly Made Sketches have created wonderful cards.  Head over to the challenge and take a look at their gorgeous cards that will no doubt inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by.

Just Add Ink #451

Hey Everyone

This weeks challenge at Just Add Ink is a gorgeous inspiration pic.  I am loving the sweet colours in this pic.

The pink wall reminded me of this pretty vellum DSP from Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper. The woodgrain DSP is also from this DSP.  The flower and leaves image I’ve lightly watercoloured is from All That You Are Stamp Set.  The sentiment I’ve used is also from this stamp set.

The team at Just Add Ink have created gorgeous cards that will inspire you. So head over to Just Add Ink and take a look.

Freshly Made Sketches #382

Hey Everyone

It’s Wednesday, so that means a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. This weeks sketch has been designed by the amazing Jennifer Timko.  We all adore her and love everything she creates.

This card came together so easy – mainly because I had this image already coloured on my desk discarded from a previous project. I then tied in my DSP and colours from the colours I’d already used on my flowers.  I took a piece of DSP from Botanical Butterflies and a sentiment from Needlepoint Nook.

The team have created wonderful cards. Pop over to Freshly Made Sketches and take a look.

Just Add Ink #350

Hey Everyone

Welcome to Friday and a new challenge at Just Add Ink.  This week our challenge is for you to:

One of the girls I work with is due to have a baby boy soon, so I’ve used this challenge to create a card for her and her husband. I am loving Bermuda Bay, Basic and Whisper White as a colour combination for a little boy. My little bunny and squirrel are from Fable Friends and a lightly with Bermuda Bay Ink.  I’ve fussy cut both and layered them around my sentiment from Welcome Little One.  The designer series paper I’ve placed behind my circle cut out, and the striped piece under my sentiment, is from Botanical Butterflies.

The team at Just Add Ink have created wonderful baby cards to inspire you. Head over to the challenge and take a look.  We would love it if you could play along with our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Freshly Made Sketches #381

Hey Everyone

We have a new sketch for you to try at Freshly Made Sketches.  This weeks sketch has been designed by the wonderfully talented Lee Ann Barrett.

This weeks sketch lends to clean lines and lots of white space.  I’ve added a strip of DSP from Botanical Butterfly DSP matted with some Basic Black Cardstock to my Whisper White Cardstock base.  I then fussy a butterfly from the same DSP to place on my leaves cut with my Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies. These were made with Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  I then adhered the sentiment with some Braided Linen Thread and some Basic Black Cord underneath. A very quick and clean card for once!

Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team – Classic Garage Suite Blog Hop

Hey Everyone

The 2019 Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team are back with a hop featuring projects made with the Classic Garage Suite.

We all have need for masculine cards at some stage throughout the year – whether it be for a birthday or for Father’s Day.  I’ve created cards for both occasions, but you can easily change out the sentiments as needed and swap the occasion.

I used to struggle with masculine cards, so to overcome my fear of them, I keep a mostly white card base so that I don’t overcrowd them with too many layers. You probably all know by now that I love my layers, but sometimes they just don’t work for man cards.

I decided to start off with a Father’s Day card.  I love the shape of this sentiment and love the fact that there’s a matching die for it! This sentiment was the starting point for my card.

On the card base I randomly stamped the three nuts as a background stamp in Smoky Slate Ink.   I then added two strips of DSP from Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and a strip of Basic Black Cardstock.  To add some colour I took some Crushed Curry Cardstock and cut out the car badge with a thinlit from the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.  I also looped some Black/Silver 1/4″ Striped Metallic Ribbon and placed it to the side of the sentiment.  It still felt a little bare, so I cut some cogs in Basic Black Cardstock with various sized cogs from Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.

For my second card, I took the oil stain like background stamp and stamped it on card base with Smoky Slate Ink.  I then took some DSP from Classic Garage 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and the large cog die and ran it through the Bigshot.  I placed a strip of Crushed Curry DSP and a strip of Basic Black Cardstock across my card and then added a circle.  On the circle I placed my lightly coloured vintage card, from Geared Up Garage, and added the sentiment.  I was determined to add one of these cool Classic Garage Metal Elements on one of my projects.  This card will be the one I give to my husband for his birthday.  We have two vintage cars, so I know he will LOVE this card.

The Artisans have created amazing projects using this suite.  Make sure you visit the teams blogs and see what they’ve created.  The next talented cardmaker on the hop is my friend is Rochelle Blok.  You will absolutely love what she has to show you.
