The Play Date Cafe Challenge #125

Hey Everyone

I’m late with my entry for this weeks challenge at The Play Date Cafe Challenge – that’s what happens when you’re on annual leave, you forget what day it is!  Even though I love the colours from this weeks challenge – black and white with a splash of brown – it took me a few go’s before I was happy with my card.

This is what I came up with:

Thanks for stopping by.

Ink: Black Stazon
Stamp Sets: Occasional Quotes (retired), French Foliage

Play Date Cafe Challenge #122

Hey Everyone

I made this card for the colour challenge at The Play Date Cafe Challenge and for Spring has Sprung Challenge at The Paper Players, but I missed the closing time for The Paper Players as it seems to have closed a few hours earlier than when I usually enter – oh well, I’ll be earlier next week.

The colours at The Play Date Cafe Challenge are gorgeous together and one’s I’ve used recently so I knew what I was going do when I saw them.

Here’s their inspiration pic:

Create with Connie & Mary Challenge #190

Hey Everyone

Just a quick one tonight.  My card is made from a combination of this weeks sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary and the colour challenge at The Play Date Cafe – but I’m one day too late for The Play Date Cafe cutoff time – whoops.

Here’s the sketch from Create with Connie & Mary:

And the colour palette from The Play Date Cafe:

Pals Paper Arts #129 & The Play Date Cafe Challenge #119

Hey Everyone

Thank goodness it’s Friday!  I’ve had a bit of a chance to play today and have combined two challenges for my card – Pals Papers Arts and The Play Date Cafe Challenge.  I love a sketch challenge (especially Margaret Moody’s) and the colours from The Play Date Cafe really appealed to me – Black, White and a splash of Hot Pink.

You’ve probably noticed that Fabulous Florets is one of my favourite flower sets, and most used sets, at the moment – I’ll try and use some other sets soon just in case you’re getting sick of it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Products Used:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Black DSP
Ink: Black Stazon, Melon Mambo
Stamp Sets: Fabulous Florets, Sincere Salutations, French Foliage
Other Products: Basic Pearls, Black Satin Ribbon

Merry Monday Challenge #5 & The Play Date Cafe Challenge #116

Hey Everyone

I sat down last night to enter Lesley’s Merry Monday Challenge and thought to myself that this may end up being a real challenge by the end of the year to find different uses for my limited Stampin’ Up! Christmas sets.  I combined Lesley’s sketch with the colour challenge at The Play Date Cafe and have ended up with a non-traditional Christmas coloured card.

Here’s my card:

Thanks for stopping by.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge #115 & Mojo Monday #224

Hey Everyone

For regular followers of my blog, you’d know I’m not really that comfortable making a card for a man – I find them really hard because you can’t “tizz” them up like you can a female card.  I’ve decided to try and make one male card a month so I get over my fear of them.  I’ve combined two challenges for my man card today – The Play Date Cafe Challenge and Mojo Monday.

Here’s what I came up with:

Here’s my card:

I’ve been wanting to use the typewriter from Established Elegance since I first got this set, but I could never get it looking quite right (I felt it was a little big).  I figured that if I didn’t start using it soon, I’d never use it – in the end I don’t think it looks too bad on this card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: Established Elegance, French Foliage, Artistic Etchings
